Beautiful, recently remodeled venue. It was a crisp sunny day and we really enjoyed our wine flights with the incredible vistas. The wine is very good.

The girls I had a really good time in Santa Ynez. You took really good care of us and the wine was wonderful. It was great to sit outside on the patio on a beautiful day.

I visited Fess Parker Winery in Los Olivos yesterday with a couple of girlfriends, and we had an amazing time! We didn't know there had been a fire until we arrived, but the staff was very welcoming and informed us about it. They offered us the option to sit inside due to the fire and ash, but we chose to sit outside because the scenery is so beautiful. Thomas was our host, and he made the entire experience delightful. Since we preferred to skip red wine, he was very accommodating with our options. Thomas was incredibly attentive and friendly, even providing us with some complimentary wine tastings, which was a wonderful bonus. He described the wines in a very engaging and informative way. This visit has made Fess Parker Winery my new favorite. I can't wait to come back! I regret not buying a bottle of wine, but that just gives me another reason to return very soon.

We had such a lovely day at Fess Parker. We went on a Friday and were able to be seated without a reservation but with all of the space I'm sure they're packed on weekends, so I'd make a reservation next time! We were seated in the side patio with a beautiful view of the rose garden. They have a huge grassy area which looks perfect for picnics. The tasting menu is $25 for 4 wines and the pours were generous and delicious. We loved everything, especially the Riesling and Pinot. We'll be back to Fess Parker soon to enjoy the tasty wine and beautiful fall atmosphere!

We had a wonderful visit on a Thursday morning in September of 2025. The staff was friendly and courteous. We tried four different wines and each one was good! Several were estate wines which were made from grapes we could see growing right in front of us. This was a peaceful and relaxing experience in a beautiful setting.

Fess Parker renovated and is prettier than ever! Masterful redo! So nice inside and outside. We had a most fun pourer who made us laugh! Yet she educated us too. All the wines were fabulous. This is still one of my favorite wineries in California. Cute coonskin cap on glasses!

Fess Parker is most definitely the posh of SB County wineries. From the beautiful estate, to the newly renovated tasting room both inside and out, they surely make a name for themselves. I recently became a member due to the flexibility of being able to visit the estate, but also the Funk Zone in SB since I am an LA native. Also from my tastings a couple years back, I enjoyed a lot of their wines. I went up for my first tasting as a member a couple weeks back and really enjoyed the ambiance, as well as the extremely friendly service. I wish I could have gotten her name, but she was such a warm personality even in the midst of a busy Saturday afternoon. The wines were good, but not as great as a couple years back. I also wish that as a member buying their win s, I could have more flexibility in what I would like to taste, but maybe that will be the case as time goes on. Overall, great experience and I look forward to discovering their wide variety of wines in the future.

It's been sometime since I was last here. Before the renovations so to see it all done up was quite nice. Beautiful private tasting rooms and the new patio seating area. The property itself is massive. Plenty of grass space for picnics as well as seating all along the front and the two covered patio. We were seated in the back patio area near the rose garden. There's a massive fireplace that divide the two patio. Very modern decor which is beautiful. They had sofa seating as well as chair seating. Depending on the group size. Our pouring Veronica was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable with her wine. As it's been a while since I was last here, trying the wine all over again was nice. Service was great, friendly staff. It does get quite busy so reservations is highly recommended. Not sure if they take walk ins or not. But as a couple of us were members, we will definitely be making more pit stops here again.

One of my favorite wineries in Los Olivos. The ground is so pretty with lots of places to seat or to do some picnic. It's a very family/kids friendly winery and you can also bring your dogs. Highly recommend this place.

My all time favorite winery!! Best winery in California!! Fess' legacy is strong as ever. From the fine wines, the gorgeous property and his amazing staff!!!

If I could give 100 stars, I would! My husband and I visited today and had the most incredible experience. We brought our own food and enjoyed it on their stunning outdoor grounds-- don't be fooled, their main building is just as breathtaking. The service was exceptional--warm, friendly, and welcoming. We enjoyed a bottle of wine during our visit and loved it so much that we took another back to our hotel (we chose not to do the tasting because we love their Viognier 2023). I could go on and on about how perfect everything was! We are already planning to celebrate our 10-year anniversary here, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

It was the first of five tastings we did during our weekend in town, and the wines were, admittedly, the least impressive. They went down easy, though, and we had a pleasant visit. We checked into our hotel on Friday around 5:30 and quickly realized that all the wineries on our list were closed. We asked the receptionist where we might be able to do a tasting, and she said Carhartt was our best bet. It was quite open when we walked in, almost intimidatingly so, the live music loud as we rounded the sidewalk outside the enclosed patio. Jack welcomed us into the tasting room and suggested we do a vibe check on the patio before deciding where to sit. We peeked outside and it seemed fun in a way we weren't looking for, a bit of a party atmosphere with a live band and a lot of people. We took our seats in the quieter tasting room, where we were able to enjoy the music from a distance while we drank some wine. We both did the house tasting, which came with five pours of Carhartt wines: the 2024 Top Branch, the 2022 Sin Nada, the 2022 Sangiovese, the 2022 Rebel Roan, and the 2020 Northerly. Jack also gave us a taste of the 2021 Graciano. They were all nice wines, but we particularly liked the Sin Nada, the Sangiovese, and the Graciano, and took home two bottles of each, getting one $25 tasting fee waived with each purchase of three bottles. Jack was a great host, and he told us all about the wines and winery as we went along. (He pre-empted our first question, saying that yes, they were the same Carhartts as the Carhartt clothing label, but not the same company. I guess just the classic generational wealth to winemaking pipeline.) It was a helpful introduction to both the Carhartt wines and Los Olivos, and Jack was good company. I said Carhartt was the least impressive of the wineries we visited, but it's also worth noting that it had the lowest price point. Carhartt isn't gunning for Robert Parker ratings. The wines are accessible and tasty, and I have a feeling we'll go through our bottles very fast.

A Santa Ynez Valley -Los Olivos gem!…read more This is our 2nd time with Zaca Mesa Winery and each time is always memorable. The setting is so calm and relaxed, and the tasting flights (incl. reserve) were outstanding--a thoughtfully curated lineup that really highlight the depth and character of their wines. Each pour offered something unique, from elegant aromatics to beautifully balanced flavors that truly reflect the region. What made the visit especially exceptional was the service. Karen, the wine curator, was always so wonderful on both occasions. From the moment we started our tasting, she made the experience feel welcoming and personalized. Karen took the time to walk us through each wine, shared great insights about the selections, and patiently answered our questions. Her enthusiasm and expertise made the tasting both informative and fun. When it came time to choose wines to take home, Karen's recommendations were spot-on and she helped guide us through the options without any pressure and provided their wonderful promotion. It's clear she genuinely cares about making sure guests leave with wines they'll love. Between the beautiful setting, excellent tasting flight, and Karen's exceptional hospitality, Zaca Mesa delivered a top-tier wine tasting experience. If you're exploring Santa Ynez wine country, this winery absolutely deserves a spot on your list. We're already looking forward to coming back as a Zaca Mesa member! The place is casual and not tiny, but it definitely fills up. I don't think they were taking walk-ins while we were there. The tasting room--or tasting patio, I suppose--was really pleasant, a breezy outdoor space in front of a charming brick-red house with a strong Los Olivos aesthetic. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a porta-potty, though it was the nice kind, with running water. We got our own table and a friendly, knowledgeable young server brought us our wines and explained what we were drinking. He was busy, so this was one of the less in-depth tastings we did on this trip, but the experience was easy and enjoyable. There were two tastings on offer, the classic estate flight and the "fresh and esoteric." Since this was our first visit, we both went with the estate, and it was a great introduction to Stolpman's wines. We tried the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, the 2024 Chenin Blanc, the 2024 La Cuadrilla, the 2023 Sangiovese, and the 2024 Angeli, the label's flagship Syrah. They were all excellent and very well priced--the Cuadrilla goes for $26. It's also a delicious wine with a cool provenance, a red blend made by Stolpman's vineyard workers on a designated block, in what looks to be a successful profit sharing project. The tasting fee was $25, waived with a three-bottle purchase. We snapped up three each of the Sauvignon Blanc and the Sangiovese, which cost $24 and $36 a bottle. Tremendous value for such outstanding wines. I have a feeling we'll go through these quickly, and may be tempted to join the wine club if we do. Either way, though, I hope to go back to Stolpman. I'm definitely curious about that second tasting.

I would recommend a lighter crispier chip to pair with their amazing wines, these are too dense with fake flavors that tasted off. We had a cheese plate which was premade but still wonderful! Great cheeses and exactly what we needed to remove the memory of the chips. We bought a bottle and one of their candles poured into a wine bottle on our way out. It smells amazing!
