Time to bowl!

What a great time we had! We all look forward to going back soon. What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours! Look for their groupon &/or their weekend special pricing! We all highly recommend it!

Came here on a Friday night for a family night out! It was a bit late but plenty of time to play, eat, and bowl. My bf, his daughter, and I were all super excited to come and have some fun! It's our first time here so we didn't know what to expect really. We decided to only play 1 round since it takes a while to just finish 1. I love the food truck they have it's really cool and fun to see. Their food was pretty good and filled me up pretty quickly. While we ate while we played a round of bowling and afterwards we went to play at the arcade. We took pictures at the photo booth like we always do! It's kind of our thing to always take a picture at the Photo Booth just to look back at the past and remember the good old times. As we grow older and cherish our lil moments together as a lil family of ours. Definitely will be coming back to come and bowl!

My daughter's birthday fell on a Wednesday so we came here for the half off arcade deal and it was just perfect. They also had a deal on pizzas and pitchers so everything was a win-win! Kids had a blast and so did the adults.

Came here on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised. The facility is clean and the staffs were attentive and helpful. The arcade is well sized with lots of options although I do wish there were more picks for little kids. My toddler needed my assistance to pick him up and participate in most of them so I would say the arcade is definitely more for taller kids beyond age 5-6 years old. The bowling pricing is also very reasonable with lots of deals to choose from. We were able to capitalize on the unlimited bowling and shoe rental for $18.99 per person from 11am to close! This is our first visit so I wasn't sure what to expect but our family had an amazing time. Will definitely be returning!

It's so clean in here!

We visited Lucky Strike in Alameda during Thanksgiving break on a weekday with seven children, and our experience was honestly exceptional from start to finish. Taking a large group of kids anywhere can be stressful, but the staff here made everything incredibly smooth and enjoyable. Everyone we interacted with was patient, friendly, and willing to help, which made a huge difference for us. I want to give a special shout-out to the manager, Rashad, who went above and beyond. He was extremely approachable and took the time to walk us through all the weekly deals, different play options, and even gave honest recommendations about how long we should book the lanes for. He also suggested trying out the arcade games, which turned out to be a great call -- the kids were obsessed and had the funnest time playing and celebrating the start of their holiday break with all their cousins. Another thing that really stood out to us was how clean and well-maintained the entire facility was. I've been to many bowling alleys over the years, and this one is hands down the biggest, most spacious, and cleanest I've ever been to. The atmosphere felt lively but still organized, and everything from the lanes to the seating area to the arcade section looked cared for. Overall, we had an amazing experience and left with happy, tired kids -- which is every adult's goal! We will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend Lucky Strike Alameda to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly outing.

So the front room has the oldest machines and subsequent rooms get progressively newer machines. For the 1 time fee you get unlimited play (so no digging for quarters), there are in and out privileges so you can play, leave to eat etc, and return to play some more. The staff is very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Only a few machines weren't working, but they had signs so you knew, but almost all of them were working and available to play. Also each machine had a sign that gave some history regarding the art design/layout, or how the particular machine was unique/different etc. I tried to read more of the descriptions but got too caught up in just playing them that I didn't read and learn as much as I should have. Next time I come back I will try to read a bit more. The info provided was actually pretty interesting but I got dazzled by all the blinking lights and sounds. So fun! Speaking of sound- there is enough space between each machine that you aren't drowned out by the other machines or players. There are several rooms of machines so people can spread out. The only thing I would have changed is it is very dark inside (I am guessing to keep the place cool) so it was a little hard to see the action with my aged eyes. Younger people won't have any problems. I am guessing also this place must look amazing at night. We were there mid afternoon. The room with the older machines was nice and bright which was nice. The newer machines are in darker rooms to add to the mood? As we were there on a Friday afternoon, not too many kids/teenagers, but don't know what the clientele would be after school. Street parking is pretty good and there is off street metered parking around the corner. This is a fun place and I will come back and bring visitors.

If you want the opportunity to play a large variety of pinball machines, this is the place. They…read morehave machines spanning multiple generations. Learn about history while having fun. How can you top that?

Everything is priced very fairly and competitive with mainstream retailers, online platforms, and even other retro game shops. They do it all here: retro and new video games, consoles, trading cards, plushies, accessories, and more. I feel truly lucky to have found this spot. It's officially my new go-to for anything gaming-related, whether I need something ASAP, want to get a game disc resurfaced, or just want to pop in and see what's new. Their backroom looks like it's bursting with even more treasures and I'm excited to see how they grow over time. I wish San Francisco had more places like this because the city is really lacking when it comes to true video game stores. We don't even have a Gamestop anymore in the heart of the city. The closest video game store is in Stonestown, which can be very inconvenient to get to. They also have some awesome free-to-play arcade setups and welcome people to just hang out inside, which gives the place a really laid-back, community vibe. If you're looking for a specific game or system and they don't have it, they'll even take your number and give you a call once they track it down. Such a thoughtful touch. I especially love their preowned deals like the buy two, get one free promo for games priced $11.99 or less. I can't wait to come back for my next haul.

The interior features beautiful Art Deco décor, which gives the theater a unique charm. One feature I appreciate is that you can order dinner from the restaurant next door. I haven't tried the food myself--and probably never will--but I like having the option. Ticket prices are fair, and parking is plentiful. There's a cheap and safe parking garage next door as well as plenty of street parking. Since it's located right off Park Street, there are numerous highly rated restaurants in close proximity, including Burma Superstar, Tucker's, etc. I usually grab dinner or a snack on Park Street before strolling over to the theater. I highly recommend visiting this theater instead of a large chain theater surrounded by the same predictable chain restaurants. It offers a much more charming and local experience. On a side note - I watched Moana in 3D last night and it was the best movie I've seen in a while. I'm very critical of film, never rating anything above a 6, but this was easily 10/10.

I asked *multiple* times if I could be the one to handle the cupcakes and set them up because I did not want anyone else to mess with them and handle them without care. The staff kept saying that they had to be the ones to handle it. I reiterated several times I wanted them to be careful with them. I had spent all night making them! We get into the party room when it was finally available and of course they had turned over the cupcakes. No apology was given and they even tried to tell me that the cupcakes were like that when they got to them. Um, absolutely not. In the photo I'm attaching there's, three layers of cupcakes, all three layers had cupcakes tipped over. It also seems supremely silly to me that they won't allow any changes to food selection the day of the party but also won't allow you to bring in any food yourself. We also asked for more napkins and one worker gave us a napkin bin and then a minute later another worker came and admonished us saying we shouldn't have that napkin bin. Uh, one of the workers literally handed it to us? What is with the attitude here? The workers act like how you'd expect DMV workers to act. There also was no music that we could really hear in the play rooms and the atmosphere just felt really drab. Especially with things like the air hockey machine being broken. There's really not much help or organization at all. And it's also weird to be pressured to tip like $150 suggested (and going up!) when the staff does barely anything to help. We tipped out of pressure but it left such a sour taste in my mouth. I would not come back here ever to host a party and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
