I went in yesterday with my car battery dying all to many times and asked them to quote me to replace my battery. They quoted me $300 to replace it and told me to bring it the next morning (today 9/19/23) and they would have it done the next day. I brought it at 10am and they had called me at around 1pm and told me it was done I picked it up later in the day and check it out. They gave me a great battery cleaned up under the hood and sent me on my way. They were great guys very kind and quick, service was amazing even when my car died when i tried to go home the day before they gave me a goof jump before I went home. Awesome! Steve is professional and upfront. Had taken a work vehicle to Dodge dealer for a "rattling" noise coming from the trans. They stated that their Tech looked at it and said the bolts had loosened and damaged the flywheel and torque converter, priced at $3500 for repairs. HTT looked at it, found the bolts had come loose but did not damage anything. Applied loctite and tightened up. read more

I have an inherent distrust of all auto repair places, especially transmission shops. I don't understand how a transmission works, so I have an underlying fear that they will tear into the transmission and tell me that the only thing they can do is to put in a new one or need to have it completely rebuilt to the tune of at least $2000. We've all heard such stories. I have a truck with a 30-year-old transmission, so I was really apprehensive about taking it anywhere. The main issue was that it leaked transmission fluid all over the place. I had replaced the gasket on the pan and it had made no difference at all, still leaked just as bad. Steve told me the likely culprit was the upper main seal and the only way to get to it was to pull the transmission, which meant several hours of labor just to get to it. I had been told this by other shops as well, the estimates were all in the $600-$700 range. I had a lot of questions and Steve patiently answered all of them. They pulled the transmission, changed ALL the seals (not just the one), changed the torque converter (because it was leaking as well) and added a gizmo to the throttle to help it shift better. The total was only $700 for everything. They could have easily told me it needed a complete rebuild and I would have never known the difference, but they didn't. Steve even had the mechanic that did the work explain to me what he did and why. They only repaired what was necessary. The leak has stopped, and it runs better than it did before (a bonus). When you find a shop that you can trust, it's kind of special. It is nice to find that some business owners still value things like honesty and integrity. I will definitely do more business with them in the future and recommend them to anyone without hesitation. read more

Just want to say this place is great. I went in to check my transmission due to some driving issues I've been experiencing, Steve the lead man in there took me no appointment or anything, he test drove my wife's car then came back to check the codes for me. Steve told me that he didn't feel there were any transmission issues but I did have multiple codes I needed to get looked at and referred me to a place near by that could help. He had Josh raise the car and check my fluid levels, they drained some as I was over their recommended amount and then he suggested that whenever I get the engine taken care of I come back for a full service on the tranny. No pressure no let me make you an appointment, just hey you might wanna come back and let us help you. They didn't charge me for anything and I was in and out of there in like 20 minutes. Brought my Kia Optima in at 9:30AM thinking there was an issue with the brakes because of a rattle when I was coming to a stop. They told me to stick around, took it out on a test drive and said it actually wasn't the brakes, but a heat shield which was rattling around. ***0 STARS*** If you want the inconvenience of having to return to this shop multiple times only to find the money and time you've spent going towards a job not completed by all means this is your place. May 2016 I purchased the parts to replace a clutch in my Spyder Eclipse. Upon picking the vehicle up, the Service Engine light was on and intermittently the car would shutter upon take off. I took it and paid to have the sensor diagnosed only to find when the transmission was put back in they left it with a pinched sensor. I took it back to the shop to have it fixed. I spoke to Steve also about the problem of it not engaging and taking off properly. They did reimburse me for the diagnosed fee. Rather than replacing the cord they wrapped electrical tape around it and the shuttering take off continued with no effort on their part to fix the issue. The next day I realize my cruise control is not working anymore. At least that was an easy fix by a friend. My friend is a technician and told me the shuttering I'm experiencing might be because the flywheel was not resurfaced properly. I took the car back again at 8:00 AM this morning (Friday) to be checked and fixed. I called back after 1:00 PM to check the status only to be told that it's not the flywheel and that maybe I just supplied bad parts in the first place and if I'd like to repurchase new parts they would do the work again free of charge. (Work on my car, propose more problems, waste more of my time?...no thank you). Not only that they would not pull the transmission to diagnose the issue until Monday. My question is why did I take time off work (AGAIN) to find a ride, drop off and pick up my car today? Another question is if I supplied bad parts, why would I not be informed prior to doing the work on the car? The parts were new. This does not make sense. Almost $1000.00 later and lost time, I am going to have to take this to another place, pay them to diagnose and fix the problem all over, not to mention parts I will potentially need to buy, because I simply don't trust these people, nor do I appreciate the condescending attitude. read more

Last week my husband's truck would not go forward while in drive... I knew it was a transmission issue and took it to High Tech. Unfortunately needed a new transmission. The truck is a 98 daily driver with 250,000 miles on it, so needing a new transmission didn't surprise me. The shop did a transmission rebuild and got it done a day early which was nice because sharing one vehicle was difficult. The owner was really kind and seemed honest, you can tell when someone is trying to rip you off, I didn't feel like that here. After numerous quotes we did a google search and found High Tech Transmissions, based on the reviews we gave them a call. Steve was very polite and asked us to bring my husbands Yukon in to check it out, no charge. About 20 minutes later he called and quoted us a price on a total rebuild, which was a lot cheaper than the other quotes we previously had received, and they guarantee their work for a year. When we were ready to drop off the vehicle it was minutes away from closing, but Rick graciously waited for us to arrive, this was Wednesday evening. Steve gave us a call Friday afternoon that our Yukon was ready. Price was exactly what they quoted, and the Yukon runs better than it did before we started having transmission issues. I brought my vehicle in last week because my friend told me that high tech was the best in Arlington. I had recently taken it to another shop and they wanted 2,000 dollars to fix it. So I just took it home and parked it. I don't have an extra 2,000 dollars just laying around!!!!! Well, that's when my friend told me to take it up to high tech and talk to Steve. I am soooooooooooo glad that I did too. It wasn't shifting because it had bad wiring going to the shift solenoids. He had it fixed the same day and total cost was 180 bucks! That's what I call honesty!!! I recommend everyone to go see Steve.
