Location Location Location- bike, walk or cart to the High Tide Bar just south of Freeman Park. Low Tide Bar is outside at the foot of the pier and has a full bar and menu (same as High Tide Bar). Limited seating but the ocean breeze and crashing waves makes it a perfect spot for a cold beer or refreshing cocktail. Upstairs on the 3rd floor is the High Tide Bar- there are some bar stool seats outside, but it is a more of an inside establishment. It is crusty, it is classic and it is an authentic beach bar experience. Hamburgers, fries- typical beach bar food. Come for the refreshments, stay for the sunsets. Some canned beer specials are $2-3 dollars. Dog Friendly! Parking under the pier. There is usually a parking attendant on duty.

Best view in the island. Best cheeseburger hands down! Staff is amazing and drink and food specials are the best around! We love fishing and hanging out here. We take all of our family and friends here when they visit from out of town

Nice staff and customers. I was here in january. Was raining but then a giant rainbow. I dont recommend the flounder. Was like a fish stick. Would have gotten a burger. Sweetwater ipa on tap. Cool place. Good 80's music. Not too loud. I enjoyed the experience. Has darts and pool table.

High Tide response to negative review

My wife left a negative social media review a few days after visiting Carolina Beach where we experienced subpar service and unsanitary conditions. The High Tide page immediately responded & threatened to call the cops on her?!? See the attached photo for beginning of this bizarre exchange which upset my wife to the point where she deleted the review. I tried to intervene to diffuse the situation, and was also barraged by a flood of accusations of cops looking for us?? and demands to know when we were there, who was the bartender, etc. We're on the other side of the state and pretty sure it's not illegal to leave a negative review, so no idea what the nonsense about the cops was about, but I assured them we'll never be returning to their establishment again. After seeing other negative reviews sharing similar experiences on Yelp & other review sites, I'm not surprised, just wish we had checked here before going to this bar. Based on this experience and other reviews, there is someone very unstable and unhinged running this place who loves to threaten potential customers with the police. Quite an interesting business model...

Nice little place to grab some drinks and food. It overlooks the ocean so you have beautiful view. Also there is a deck to enjoy the sun. The staff is nice.

Wonderful drink menu, not much along the lines of food but the view is well worth a stop and drink!

If you love Salty Turtle, you'll love The Cove even more!…read more The Cove is a cocktail bar/event space that is owned by Salty Turtle. They carry a few of their beers to serve as well as wine and liquor. Ever wish you were having a cocktail at Salty Turtle while your partner was enjoying a beer? Well now you can! Hit up the cove and you can have the best of both worlds with no one compromising. The Cove is a "club" so you'll need to sign up for a membership at the bar before you can enjoy some drinks, but don't worry it's free to join! We enjoy coming here on Wednesday nights to play trivia with friends that is hosted by Meeser Eddie. My favorite drink to sip on when coming here is probably the spicy margarita. It's not on the printed menu, but you ask and your wish shall be granted! On Wednesdays they also offer $15 bottles of Prosecco. Yes you read that right $15 for a BOTTLE of Prosecco. Nothing beats coming to play trivia with friends and sharing a great bottle together. The staff here is always so friendly, it's clean, the service is fast & the cove itself provides excellent vibes. We love the cove & salty turtle so the hardest decision is usually choosing which one to go to... and sometimes we just hit up both!!

Which it is but it is also open a few days a week, one of which being on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm for trivia. The place is smaller but very cozy. The decor inside is super cute and the drinks are great. We got a tequila drink that looked beautiful and tasted very good. They also have beer and wine. Super cool place to check out and really excited for an upcoming event I am going to at their location too!

This place is a vibe. All relaxation and good times only. The decor is great and will have you constantly finding new things to look at. It's for sure overstimulating in a good way. Comfortable seating outside where you have protection from the sun and cute lighting at night. You walk in and then go to a walk in cooler that has all the drink options. There's non alcoholic, beers galore, THC drinks (must be a big thing in NC), ciders, and some other canned concoctions. You grab what you want and head to the register. If you are staying and grab more than one, they have to hold it for you as your second round. You can only have one open drink per person. There is a $10 minimum on purchases. Once your drink is secured, you then find a spot to perch. There's indoor and outdoor options. It was rainy when we went and we were able to find a spot that was covered. This is a super chill place. Worth coming with a group or alone. You will be chilled! They do have bathrooms, merch, and some machines to play. Super nice employees too!!!
