The esprit de corps of the entire staff was clear. The service was excellent. We observed a happy buzz in the very busy space, where everyone seemed to be having a good time. We had a table on the mezzanine and could see the tables below and noted the beautiful plating of signature dishes besides the pizza. Because of the quality of the food here, its presentation, and the creativity and quality of their cocktails , you would think you were in Manhattan instead of a side street in Northampton. Highbrow gas an amazing atmosphere with quick service and amazing food. I was very impressed to find out the restaurant just opened because everything was operating like a well oiled machine. This place is AMAZING!!! Pizza's were phenomenal. Had the Duck pizza per the recommendation of Chelsea our wonderful server. That one is a must! Wish I had room for the truffle pizza which I could smell from the table next to me. Yum! Tuna appetizer was also fantastic. I must say, what I really loved were the wine choices. We stopped off for dinner on the way back from VT as it was midway. Very few places were open on a Monday night for dinner, and am so glad I found this one. As soon as we walked in it felt like we lucked out. Even though it was packed, the hostess cleared off a table that had just left for us and we didn't have to wait at all. The waitress was helpful and friendly and all said and done the meal took about an hour, which was really all we had. I had the chicken pesto pizza which was delish, and we shared the fried goat cheese starter, which was also very good. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed, and a side of roasted veg. I would say that the food needs a slightly more delicate touch though to pull it off; a tad bit too much cheese on the pizza the fish was a tad bit salty, the wines were not stored at the right temp so they lost some of the light touch. First time here, and definitely won't be the last . Our server , Anna, was so friendly. Would love to have her everytime we visit this place. No Tito's here (just beer and wine) so I got the next best thing , a glass of Cabernet and my bf got the artifact hard cider . She recommended the mussels- because the sauce they're in is amazing. She wasn't wrong, it was delicious . Creamy sauce with sausage and fennel , and some toasted Crostini's on the side to soak up that sauce (Wish I took a picture of them ). For dinner, my bf got the peppercorn encrusted NY strip with risotto instead of mashed taters and I got the Olde world pizza , and altho it's a white pie , in addition to how it comes I asked to have red sauce on it as well (SO good) . Not sure if this is an every Monday thing , but we got half off the pizza . Even more of an incentive to try more of their hearth baked pizzas , on a Monday! And because I love food and couldn't decide what I actually wanted to eat , I got a side of their mac n' cheese, also because our great server , Anna, recommended that as well. It was super cheesy and really tasty. The only negative thing I can say about our first time here, and it has nothing to do with their food, but the music was kind of weird, not really our taste or type we'd thought we'd hear in that type of a restaurant. We were looking for a higher end pizza serving with outdoor dining and High Brow had the perfect combination. Lovely atmosphere and good pricing for more artisanal food. We got the sticky ribs which were plated beautifully and tasted great. We also got the margherita and truffle pizza. The margherita was pretty good, simple tomato and basil combination, but the truffle did not taste like truffle at all, a bit too cheesy and just tasted like plain mushrooms. We've been a dozen times and have yet to discover a fault let alone a glaring fault. The consistency is remarkable. Chef Drew is demonstrating a talent that is rare in these parts. Over this short period of time I've witnessed a level of hospitality that is so remarkable. Good pizza although I think the flavor could be balanced a bit more. I ordered duck pizza and that was really heavy, which urged me to order a class of red wine. The price for food I think it's a bit higher than its portion and quality though the price for drinks were quite generous so I guess that could balance it out alright. Octopus appetizer-the octopus was charred too much so it got bitter. But the baby Bibb salad was quite good. Awesome pizza! Definitely an upscale place. I really liked the open kitchen and seeing the variety of dishes they were serving up. I knew I wanted pizza but wanted to try something else along with it. The waitresses (Wilona) recommended the Sticky Ribs and they didn't disappoint. They were like Asian Pork Belly with a sweet heat! The Duck Pizza (Shredded Duck Confit, Caramelized Onion, Goat cheese, Fig Jam, Arugula, Aged Balsamic Vinegar) had a thin crust that was slightly weighed down at the tip by the number of toppings but I didn't care because everything blended well and was delicious. My friend tried a slice and his eyes widened a bit as he nodded in approval while scarfing down the rest of it! Definitely a place to check out alone, with friends or on a date. So glad to have been able to try out this new restaurant. It was a busy night but didn't feel chaotic; rather there was just a nice energy to the place. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the ahi tuna which was prepared beautifully and melted in our mouths. The arugula salad was excellent and had a nice combination of flavors. We both ordered the Carolina trout dish from the menu. This came with two large pieces of fish served over a wonderful risotto with braised kale. The risotto had great flavor (lots of garlic!) and between the kale, risotto and fish, the flavors came together perfectly to make a very satisfying dish. By this time, we were way too full to even consider the dessert menu (though the couple at the table next to us ordered desserts and they looked great!) A group of 8 of us went to dinner at High Brow after seeing Camelot at the Academy of Music on Nov. 3. We were promptly seated in the private dining room downstairs. That was perfect as we needed to review the show and talk nonstop! Crystal was our server and she was amazing! She got everything perfect and attended to our every need without being intrusive. She was friendly yet professional. She seemed eager to please each of us. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. No complaints from 8 individuals-that's pretty good in my book! We came for the first time on a very busy Saturday night. We did have to wait for a table, however the host William was especially friendly and kept us updated on when our table would be ready multiple times. It was nice to not feel forgotten! William is great at his job. While we were waiting the owner, Andrew, asked us if we were being helped which was nice especially considering he was acting as expo on the food line. I've been in the restaurant business for 20 years myself, and it was very impressive to see him not only manage the food line, but to also greet guests, give the host specific instructions regarding which table to split on a busy night after seeing a table of 2 being surrounded by waiting customers, and he also went to tables offering Parmesan cheese! Now THAT'S a dedicated owner/chef. Our food came without delay, and everything tasted wonderful. We wish we had time for dessert! Next time! I went here with a lady friend of mine on a whim just on a wonderful Friday night. Highbrow was so great! We did not have a reservation so we couldn't sit on their authentic Italy style patio! Instead we sat in their authentic Italy style inside. So rustic yet so chic. Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for such a high class event! To say it was the best pizza of my life would be an understatement. I would literally do anything to eat this again! I could not recommend this establishment more! Based on so many 5-star reviews, my expectations were maybe too high. Saturday night with a reservation. Waited forever to be seated (or even acknowledged). They have the same hosts who would be seating you taking all the (many) phone orders, too, so you're just stuck standing there forever while they deal with the phones. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, but forgot my side of vegetables. Pizzas were good, pasta bolognese was meh. Most of the chefs you can see in the open kitchen weren't wearing masks properly, which didn't feel great to me as a patron. My family agrees that they have the best pizza and wings in town. The sauce on the wings is spicy with a bit of sweet and they are wood-fired to perfection. Made a reservation for 4:00, was sat at table and didn't see a server or receive drinks for close to 25 minutes. Today was my first time here and I was SUPER impressed! Although we didn't try the pizza, we did sample many of the apps. The Fried Goat Cheese Balls were the best I've had.
