We bought our tickets online and in advance, we did our waivers and etc etc. We did something like this before elsewhere so we aren't new, we knew we needed gloves and what attire ( sneakers and something cozy nothing too tight or short). We got there for our designated time and were greeted by a man named Clay, he warned us there was a bunch of students that would be there for the next 2 hours, the same slot my mom and I were supposed to go. He said we could climb if we wanted or come back anytime we wanted that day or another day, we chose to go down the road to shop and come back and I'm so glad we did because we got to have the place practically to ourselves, thanks for the heads up Clay! Okay so we come back, this place is huge! Climbing, zip lining and tons of courses and levels. Even a kids area for the little ones, so cute. I want to name a few people who we worked with for the day who were an absolute delight and they need praise. Here are the names: Shawn who checked us in. Tucker who briefed us and gave us the rules and Ryan who was very kind and told us some stuff in regards to which course we wanted to do next ( because we practically did them all). The staff here are delightful and kind. And Ryan even helped a child who was stuck and needed help, he sprung into immediate action and was quick no second thought. Made me feel safe as an adult, so I know that child felt safe, GREAT JOB! I think the intensity of this place is great for all levels and there was enough zip lines for the amount of exercise you do. It was a nice view and the staff made it more fun. The music was good, which I enjoyed as well. I have nothing negative to say here. Just spent a beautiful Spring day here today with my 10 & 16 year old kids. This wasn't their first…read moretime doing a ropes course, but our first time here. The first thing we noticed was how attentive and friendly all of the staff were. It's apparent that they enjoy their work and go out of their way to ensure the customers are enjoying themselves too. The safety briefing found the perfect balance of providing necessary info without being overbearing right before the fun starts. The courses are all very well laid out and offer an excellent progression as the comfort and confidence grows. There are enough options to choose from that it never felt crowded at all even though they were very busy today with the nice weather. Overall, just a simply amazing day trip and well worth the 1.5 hr drive for us to get there. We are already planning our next trip and our only regret is that it took us so long to find out about The Adventure Park and make the time to go.

Very beautiful area. After a brief safety video and briefing, we were given our rafting kit, loaded on buses, and brought up river to the raft slip, this was about a 30 minute trip north west. The raft trip ended across the street from where we started. An easy exit, we got out of the boat, returned our kit, and walked across the road to watch the video, and purchase souvenir photographs. We had an excellent day on the river during our 10 mile trip. My 14 year old son and I did the Zoar Gap trip which took most of the day with an hour break for lunch at a nice riverside picnic ground in the mountains. You can bring your own food( appropriately packaged) if you would like. They store it in a water proof bag and stow it on the raft. If there is even a hint of rain or you just don't want to get completely soaked, bring a three season jacket or rain coat. Also, you will be out on a river dress accordingly. NO open toed shoes! This includes flip- flops. You can rent shoes and wetsuits. If you have any medical issues like allergic reactions etc. I would either bring your own Epi Pen kit and medications with you, and stow it in the water proof bag, or possibly think about finding a less isolated outdoor experience. Be warned, white water rafting can be physically strenuous. The only issue I had was the lunch that was provided. Not that it was bad, it was well packaged and pre-made( not to order). If you have food allergies or don't like mayonnaise bring your own food. Zoar Outdoor is not really able to accommodate food allergies or pickey eaters. Mayonnaise was on every sandwich. I don't know why. They could just have provided packets on the side but they there were none available. My son hates mayonnaise so he only ate the chips, pickle, and cookies provided which got him through the remainder of the trip but not exactly a great lunch. One man we were with had a dairy allergy. I'm pretty sure he was not able to eat any of the food. I'm not sure why he didn't make sure a head of time if he could eat the food.I wish I had known the sandwiches had mayonnaise on them a head of time. Not a huge deal, we got over it. The trip was super fun! I would love to go again and will definitely choose Zoar Outdoor again.

Excellent day! My group of 5 was paired with another…read moresimilarly sized group for a 2-hour zipline adventure. There were 5 or 6 lines ranging in length from about 50 feet to 700 feet. The 700 foot line is awesome. In between there is a high-ropes "intermission" when you can choose between some "broken bridges" or a net obstacle and tightripe. After that my group did a Tree Climb which is a physically demanding challenge to get up very high trees, swing from ropes, etc. Unlike the zipline which is just fun adrenaline, the tree climb requires some real exertion and I would not recommend it for those who are afraid of heights or who are not physically active on a regular basis. The guides for the adventure were all great. They were encouraging, made us feel safe, and made an effort to learn our names. It was a great experience all around and I would recommend this as an activity for anyone.

So first we did the ziplining and it was great - we zipped through about 6 lines of varying lengths and a couple of them had obstacles like a broken bridge or a tight-rope walk. Then we did the treeclimb. One entailed swinging from tree to tree until you got to the top, and the other one was to climb a very old, very large tree. The third thing we did was the scavenger hunt, which was great because we traveled through the entire premises to get clues to each station to accrue points and ultimately defeat our adversaries. lol The service and friendliness of the staff was top notch. They made us feel pretty comfortable and were having a good time along with us as well as guiding us through a fun, safe experience. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for adventure and a good time with a group of friends.

Reserve ahead of time especially on weekend days when it's hot out because they do sell out. It's crowded in the picnic areas but we were having so much fun in the water we barely got out. If you are overweight or not reasonably athletic you will probably want to bring a chair. Our favorite parts were the highest zip lines and the big slide because the wait time was more reasonable for both. We got wakeboarding passes but it was so crowded and slow moving we didn't even try. The crowds thin out after 4 so if you don't want to spend all day come after noon. 10-11am and you are waiting in line to get in even if you did the waiver in advance.

However, when planning our trip this year, we had an unfortunate experience with Brownstone's customer service. Due to COVID restrictions, the park understandably had to limit their daily capacity. This limited capacity caused Brownstone to sell out much farther in advance than a regular summer (especially for weekends). This required us to purchase tickets in July for our usual trip in August, not knowing what the weather would look like for that weekend. When the weekend came, Hurricane Laura was moving through the area. The night before our trip, the forecast for the entire day was showing at least 85% chance of thunderstorms the entire day. My group included people who were planning to travel 5+ hours round trip for the park. Needless to say, with the thunderstorm forecast and our long trip lengths, we wanted to reschedule to a new day. I called Brownstone the night before our trip (Fri), asking about my options for refund/rescheduling. The operator told me that the park would remain open in the storm, and that there were no refunds (Note: When I asked about rescheduling, she did NOT mention rescheduling to a new day as an option). We did not feel safe swimming in water with thunder and lightning, and took the hit losing $273 in tickets. On the day after our trip, Brownstone messaged me on Facebook messenger saying that they DID in fact have the option to reschedule tickets to a new day, and asked me to call the office to reschedule. After calling Brownstone a second time, I was told differently, yet again, that I could not reschedule my tickets since I had not done so before my booking (even though I had called the day before to ask about my options, and was not told I could reschedule). The Brownstone employee was incredibly unpleasant to talk with, and again stated that our $273 would not be refunded. I was incredibly frustrated by the inconsistency in the information I was being given from each Brownstone employee I spoke with. I usually love this place, which is the only reason I am not giving it 1 star based on this experience. However, I am not sure if I will now be a returning customer - I am empathetic of the current pressure put on businesses during the COVID pandemic, but was disappointed by the inconsistent and terrible customer service on top of my loss in $273, even after being a returning customer for years. The courses are well thought out for all skill levels. There are plenty of tables to sit and watch, many are in nicely shaded spots. Ok to bring snacks, a lunch, or water. There is a variety of snacks and drinks available to purchase. Gloves are a must. You can't participate without them. They do have them in multiple size onsite to purchase. You can't participate without gloves. You can bring your own. They do have a limited number of lockers available to store valuables. The alternative is leaving them in your car or bringing them with you. I felt safe leaving my bag on a picnic bench.
