Had such a great time with my mom at TreeTrails. So let's get right into it, we drove from RI to get here it took about 45 minutes, no issues at all with that. We bought our tickets online and in advance, we did our waivers and etc etc. We did something like this before elsewhere so we aren't new, we knew we needed gloves and what attire ( sneakers and something cozy nothing too tight or short). We got there for our designated time and were greeted by a man named Clay, he warned us there was a bunch of students that would be there for the next 2 hours, the same slot my mom and I were supposed to go. He said we could climb if we wanted or come back anytime we wanted that day or another day, we chose to go down the road to shop and come back and I'm so glad we did because we got to have the place practically to ourselves, thanks for the heads up Clay! Okay so we come back, this place is huge! Climbing, zip lining and tons of courses and levels. Even a kids area for the little ones, so cute. I want to name a few people who we worked with for the day who were an absolute delight and they need praise. Here are the names: Shawn who checked us in. Tucker who briefed us and gave us the rules and Ryan who was very kind and told us some stuff in regards to which course we wanted to do next ( because we practically did them all). The staff here are delightful and kind. And Ryan even helped a child who was stuck and needed help, he sprung into immediate action and was quick no second thought. Made me feel safe as an adult, so I know that child felt safe, GREAT JOB! I think the intensity of this place is great for all levels and there was enough zip lines for the amount of exercise you do. It was a nice view and the staff made it more fun. The music was good, which I enjoyed as well. I have nothing negative to say here. I have driven place this place on the way to vacation in RI for a couple of years and always say I have to check it out. Last month I finally took the family. Words can't explain how great TreeTrails is. The staff was so NICE and HELPFUL. We got off to a bumpy start because my 9 year old daughter wanted to lead the way on the trail. 5 minutes into the trail she got scared and my wife and I couldn't talk her through it. Luckily one of the staff was able to comfort her and give her the confidence to continue on. 20 later she was a pro and repeated the trail a couple of times. My 13 year old daughter loved it and moved on to the intermate trail and started the expert trail but backed out at the last minute. You also get a nice little workout too. I can't say enough about TreeTrails. My whole family and I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!! read more

We had a blast at FOF. This was our first experience at an aerial course. We've done ziplining before in Mexico but this is completely different. While they do have some sections with ziplining, the courses are mostly mental and physically challenging. You basically have to figure out the best way to get from one platform to the other without exerting too much energy. We made our reservation with Enzi. They were booked for the time we wanted and we were accommodated with the next available so we had a bit of time to chill out and get prepared. To begin, we started with instructions on how to gear up. We were given harnesses, helmets and goggles for protection. Tom was very thorough in demonstrating how to and how not to navigate the course. You can get badly hurt if you do not follow directions so please pay attention during the instruction. They even have a mini training course before you actually go up for real, to ensure that you remember how to hook/unhook your safety latches. Don't worry though, there are staff members dotted throughout to help guide you across each course. Our first course was pretty easy and we thought we had it down. We went to explore and wanted to attempt another course but accidentally went on a much harder one. All of the courses are color-coded just like when you do skiing so there are easy, intermediate and expert courses. I'm not even sure of the second course we did but I just remember realising after we finished that it was a harder course we did not expect to take. Make sure to pay attention to the color codes because you can start on one platform and depending which side you proceed, you may be starting an easier or more difficult one. We learned the hard way and at first I was a little defeated but eventually I manned up and pushed through. After that little snafu, we paid attention to the color markings. At the end of each course you're blessed with an easy dismount, be it a zip line or rope. It's all in good fun and if you push yourself, you're almost guaranteed to work up a sweat. This was a really awesome experience and I'm glad we did it. We met the owner/operator, John, who was very nice and personable. He was very interested in knowing how we all enjoyed ourselves. Went here about a month ago and I've been recommending it ever since! It wasn't much to pull up to, but we had a fabulous time! I took my two sons (11&13) and I would really like to go back. What a fun work out. I will say that for the non-super-athletic (but decently in shape) ‍, the blue courses (high advanced level) is very difficult. The green (beginner) and yellow (low advanced) courses are fun and lightly challenging. There's also a black (expert) courses that are way beyond me. I am a huge fan of the new dual belay system that keeps you safe from ever being accidentally unclasped from the ropes. There's also adult only nights, which must be gorgeous with all the twinkle lights! I would love to go back with a group of friends also. Highly recommend! read more

It's a low key, self paced course of five or six climbing and Zip Lining obstacles that vary in height and difficulty, from beginner to experienced, you will be challenged and have a blast. The instructors are friendly and helpful and the safety gear is first rate. Very reasonable for 3 hours of fun as well. There's even a nice fire pit with Adirondack chairs and a giant Jenga set up for when you're finished and want to enjoy a snack and a drink. First let me say that I'm terrified of heights. That said the gear that is provided and the level of education prior to starting the courses is phenomenal. The gear was top notch and my daughters and I felt very safe as we made our ascents. The location itself is awesome. Not crowded at all and the courses are slated for beginners through experts. We tried this place out while killing time before our New London ferry reservation. Our group of 8 was very glad that we did. We were actually greeted by one of the owners who took great care of us. This place involves some agility and physical strength and even though you are way up in the trees, SAFETY is their #1 priority. They set you up and run you through a mini version before allowing you to challenge yourself on a handful of color courses depending on your ability. Lots of fun and laughs were had by all. Green level was our favorite since it had the longest ziplines. Be trusting and have a blast. Be ready to spend an hour or half day. I am from UT and came to this adventure park and was absolutely thrilled!! I do wish that they had rental lockers that way you can put ur things in (instead of your car) but the instructions were great and the park itself was fun!! I also wish they had a map of the park so you can see which sections were easy,medium,hard (they did a great job though at color coding them- it's just remembering the colors) would I do this again? 100%!! What an INCREDIBLE experience!!! I would give Fields of Fire Adventure park 10 stars if I could!! I attended the Yelp Elite event that they hosted last night and my guest and I could not have left happier! The location is in a beautiful forest just off of the highway. It's courses and paths are well-lit and lined with simple rustic/industrial hanging lights. There are campfires circled with Adirondack chairs stationed along the paths that make for perfect viewing stations of the courses. They have 5 different hanging ropes courses, ranging from beginner to expert, and your session begins with a guided harnessing and training lesson for the "smart belays" (a really awesome safety-system for your rope clips!) Our training guides were informative, funny, and very helpful. They make sure that you are (and feel) as safe as possible on the course, and will offer helpful tips as you make your way around the obstacles. This is a self-guided climb, so you can choose your courses and go at your own pace, but there is always a guide within yelling distance to offer assistance if necessary. After finishing the first and easiest course, my boyfriend and I decided to take on the hardest course. Warning: apparently 80% of people who try this expert course cannot complete it! There are 12 'elements' here (all of which resemble things you'd see on American Ninja Warrior)- I made it to the 6th one and my boyfriend was able to complete it (along with two other Yelp Elites behind us!) Great news is, no matter where you are on the course, the staff is always capable and more than willing to get you down if you decide you want to stop. Fields of Fire Adventure Park is great for pretty much any occasion: dates, birthday parties, team-buildings, family reunions, or just a fun night with friends! I cannot wait to get a big group of friends together to do another sunset climb! Such a great experience!!! AWESOME place!!! We had so much fun and as first timers, the staff was super helpful in guiding you through. Admission comes with everything (harness, helmet, gloves (optional) and a great tutorial). I love the fact that they are "germaphobe" and sanitize every helmet and wash every pair of gloves after use (such a plus!!!) The courses are both physically and mentally challenging and you have such a sense of accomplishment after each course. The blue obstacle course which is what they consider Intermediate should be named (mini black x) as it's SUPER challenging, definitely kicked our butts!! Just a quick suggestion, possibly have a small souvenir available whether it's a sticker, magnet, button, etc...as it's a great reminder that when things get tough, you can still pick yourself up and pull through :) read more

This was my first time at Fields of Fire, but I have also been to The Adventure Park in Storrs, The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, CT, and It (the indoor course at Jordan's in New Haven, CT). This was also my first time going through a course at night. It was a treat! The aerial park was straight up visually stunning! From our first interaction with April at check-In through our safety and equipment walk-through with manager Jake, and ending the evening with Jason, we were treated with respect, humor, and friendliness. The staff were capable and professional, answering whatever questions we had and making sure we were safe and enjoying our experience at every turn. This ropes course is about 45 minutes from my home, and the furthest of all the courses I've been through. I would gladly come back here again over the other courses. The prices are currently $47 (adult), $39 (child), and everyone all day Sunday $35. The price includes all the equipment you need, including gloves, which I recommend. Came to Fields of Fire with a group of friends and tried their areal terrain park. What a blast. Not at all what I was expecting, it was a series of tree platforms high in the sky with obstacles between them. Tight ropes, lily pads, spider webs, rolling logs, and zip lines just to name a few. The rates were very reasonable, especially if you can get a group together. The equipment was top notch. The staff was a whole lot of fun. Bring yourself a drink and a snack, they have a nice fire pit that you might want to relax at after your adventure. By the way, it's also a great work out if you go on the harder courses. My Fiance told me to take last Friday off of work to take me on a Date...This place was the date and it was AWESOME!!! I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone! There are all different courses with varying levels of difficulty. It was such a blast and we can't wait to take all of our friends here. They said on Friday and Saturday nights you can climb under the lights and they have their fire pits going for BYOB :) How cool! We will 100% be back soon. When we left the manager asked us what they can do better...we both quickly responded with, NOTHING! The staff was top notch and always there to help/make the experience the best. Found this place on Trip Adviser after BAD weather in Montreal derailed our long weekend vacation. In a panic we randomly chose Mystic, CT as our back-up and I'm so glad we did. I went with my parents and siblings and we all had a blast! It aint easy finding a place that both 20 and 60 years olds will enjoy. We did the aerial park on a gray Friday afternoon which was perfect. The most refreshing part was that it was actually a challenge! The way the obstacles are set up allow you to modify your technique to make it easier or more challenging. Thanks to the manager, Sean, for that helpful tip! We ran over to the local walmart and got her more appropriate footwear. The team was competent and informative. We felt safe in their care. This place is a blast! There are elements for everyone- kids, adults, novice and experienced climbers. When you get there, they provide detailed instructions on how to get harnessed in. These harnesses are really easy to put on and less uncomfortable than I would have expected. The staff also does a safety demo on a "staging element" where you learn about the Smart Belay. The Smart Belays expertly hook into all the elements in the park to allow you to have a self guided experience, and stay super safe! My friend and I completed the yellow and green intermediate courses. They were fun, provided a good amount of challenge and got the adrenaline pumping. The zip lines were especially enjoyable. Went with a group of 13 guys, and had a blast, and we're assigned our own private refs. The owner let us demo their new close combat maze course, "The S.W.A.T.TER House" with brand new .50 caliber Tipman markers. The few rounds we played in there were by far the most fun I've had to date anywhere. Definitely gets the heart pumping turning a corner The rounds last way longer in there since it's all close quarters. 80 rounds each lasted 3-4 games or more. At one point he busted out a riot shield for each team which was an awesome addition. Great staff, super helpful, decent field paint, fields well maintained. Pizza and soda available on site, was nothing special, but hit the spot after a few hours of play in the rain Highly recommended, well worth the cost of admission, great for groups. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this place out on Sunday. It was the best time we have had since moving to CT. Everyone was super professional from the beginning. They gave us a 10% military discount so that helped with the cost. They walked us through putting on our equipment and gave us a lesson before letting us try the first course. From the first course, to the last, we had so much fun! We used a lot of critical thinking skills to get through the courses. We did get through all the courses in about 4 hours. We liked how there were some easy courses and then some very difficult ones. You definitely need some upper body strength to complete the black course. Initially,​ I was unsure about the park as I have been to other similar places that have seemed nicer. The parking was a bit unclear and it seemed the park was small. However, I was completely wrong! The park was so integrated into the trees it was hard to tell just how far out the courses went. The courses were definitely tougher than other ones I've done, but the instructors are great at getting you set up in your safety gear and explaining everything before they send you off. I do miss the day when this was the actually decent paintball field. Personally I will be reviewing this on the basis of when this was a paintball field not the whole "adventure park". Mind you this place used to be a nice big field in the heart of Connecticut. A field so large that you would actually get sore feet walking back-and-forth all the time. I even came down here when they had scenarios of course that was way back in the day. I understand the business wanting to diversify and I wish them luck unfortunately I will not be coming back due to lack of interest in the other activities and the diminishing of the field. read more

OK I am one of the 80% that do not complete the "Expert" course. HAHAHA With that being said it was a blast. I thought I would throw out a little advice for those of you that go (and I recommend that you go). One if you are at a ropes course for the first time the instruction is great. Instructors know their stuff and have a good sense of humor. Listen to them. USE the Gloves - They offer free use of their gloves. My hands wish I had taken advantage of that. You will see a lot of people without them on the course. Don't be fooled especially if you are going to the blue or black courses. Take them - put them in your pocket and then you have them if you need them. TAKE it from a NON EXPERT - the Expert course is tough. "You should be able to do 10 Pull ups to do this course." That is when my machismo kicked in and even though I cant do one pull up decided to do the Expert course. On the second obstacle I had to do the roll of shame and the fourth obstacle meant the hang of Shame and a rescue by the course management. While it was embarrassing to hang their the rescue guy was top notch. He has awesome. My upper body was toasted I could hardly hold on to the ropes and he helped get me to the plank and belay down the ladder. I wish I couldn't tell you about how good the rescue team is but that was my experience. We went with a small group and ran into other people we knew. It was a blast. Will be back next year. Great place and had a great time with my boyfriend! It was a lot of fun and a great experience. Everyone as very friendly, helpful and encouraging. I will definitely be back or at least will try the other courses around the state. There are obstacles, zip lines and I felt very safe the whole time. I am however docking a star for one reason- there was a child who clearly was not tall enough for the course which was apparent from our training in which he volunteered and training took a very long time because of it. He continued to struggle immensely which resulted in tons of us having to sit and wait on platforms for more than 5-10- 15 mins at a time. He eventually was taken down after getting stuck on an obstacle but that wasn't until after it took 2 of our 3 hours to do only 2 courses (the beginner courses). Do have to say no one made us leave but we had to leave because we had somewhere else to be. We were told the 3 hours would be plenty to complete all 5 courses but because of this issue we didn't get to. I feel like someone should've stepped in earlier and made them wait and let others pass etc but overall great experience! The night time one looks awesome! read more

We came to Fields of Fire for my wife's birthday and went on Aerial Rope Courses. We had an amazing time. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They made sure everyone was having good time and even made a large campfire for us to enjoy the after the climbing. The courses are fun and challenging and there is course for everyone.
