Excellent day! My group of 5 was paired with another similarly sized group for a 2-hour zipline adventure. There were 5 or 6 lines ranging in length from about 50 feet to 700 feet. The 700 foot line is awesome. In between there is a high-ropes "intermission" when you can choose between some "broken bridges" or a net obstacle and tightripe. After that my group did a Tree Climb which is a physically demanding challenge to get up very high trees, swing from ropes, etc. Unlike the zipline which is just fun adrenaline, the tree climb requires some real exertion and I would not recommend it for those who are afraid of heights or who are not physically active on a regular basis. The guides for the adventure were all great. They were encouraging, made us feel safe, and made an effort to learn our names. It was a great experience all around and I would recommend this as an activity for anyone. read more

Great place! There were 12 of us and we were celebrating a bachelor party and we decided to come here. Make sure you come here with clothes and sneakers to wear in the woods if you partake in the entire experience. So first we did the ziplining and it was great - we zipped through about 6 lines of varying lengths and a couple of them had obstacles like a broken bridge or a tight-rope walk. Then we did the treeclimb. One entailed swinging from tree to tree until you got to the top, and the other one was to climb a very old, very large tree. The third thing we did was the scavenger hunt, which was great because we traveled through the entire premises to get clues to each station to accrue points and ultimately defeat our adversaries. lol The service and friendliness of the staff was top notch. They made us feel pretty comfortable and were having a good time along with us as well as guiding us through a fun, safe experience. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for adventure and a good time with a group of friends. read more

Yay! Wolfgang is the best; only go when he's working. I'm not fond of heights, but Wolfgang and Mike quelled my fears (somewhat) and made the experience enjoyable. It's a lot of fun and something kind of different to try. read more

This place offers zip-lining adventures and other team-building activities in a 20-acre wooded area. It is an amazing adventure! Our group of 20+ colleagues had a blast, zip-lining from platforms starting around 10 ft. overhead and ultimately getting to platforms about 70 ft overhead. The staff was exceptional. They gave us all the instruction and assistance we needed, while still letting each person solve problems on their own and get a bit out of their natural comfort zone. WOW! We did the Halloween tour which was Ziplining in the Dark! It was our first time ziplining ever and it was Great! there are 5 lines and 2 wooden brdges that you cross. The staff was fun and safety concious. The Zip was pricey 70$ per person, but something that ill always remeber:) read more

My Wife and I just went zip-lining for the first time on our honeymoon. The experience was great Jen(n) and Chris were our leaders and made us all feel really comfortable and ready to have fun. Even 70ft in the air they had us laughing. I would recommend this experience for anyone even if you are scared of heights. I booked a reservation for five for the zip-lining adventure online after doing some research about courses near New London, CT. From the website it looked like a great family friendly experience.... When we arrived the staff informed us that we would be going with a group of nine. By the time we started we had a group of thirteen not including the two guides. There was nothing on the website that stated the staff could alter your group by adding other members. The staff was enjoyable and very helpful but still need to polish their rescue skills. We had several small children (one who did NOT meet the weight requirement) who had to be "rescued" on three out of the five zips. Not one rope throw was on target and the guide had to go out and meet the distressed person halfway and then pull them safely back. As you could imagine this took some time and our trip was extended an extra hour, which was time spent waiting in the over crowded tree platforms. The course itself was enjoyable and fun. The obstacles although are mandatory and were very challenging for small children which also ate up a decent amount of time. Also, the course did not have any way of "escape" for persons who found it too challenging and wanted to opt out midway. I don't see this course lasting very long considering the stands and lines are drilled directly into the trees. Several of which are very unsturdy in windy conditions. This course also lacked a decent and safe way to stop. They had some stopping mechanisms but choose to catch you as you were coming in (at pretty high speeds) which I'm sure resulted in a few bruises for the guide and persons zipping. Luckily no one was clearly hurt but a decent injury would not be hard to acquire. I do not plan on booking another reservation at this establishment and personally would not reccomdend them. I have gone zip-lining on other courses which were much more professional and enjoyable. If you are someone who is looking for a family friendly adventure, look elsewhere. read more

Took my 2 boys - ages 9 & 11. They absolutely loved it - i am completely afraid of heights but the guides are great and are used to coaxing people off the deck. After the first run I was an old pro. I am going to do my son's birthday party here - I highly recommend bringing a group - it is a total RUSH!!!! Note - on the challenge course - the ropes course is HARD and the Indiana Jones style bridge is pretty easy depending on how hard you are looking to push yourself! read more

My husband and I visited Empower a week and a half ago to commemorate our second wedding anniversary with the Extreme Tree Top Adventure. We couldn't have had a more enjoyable time. The weather was perfect, the staff enthusiastic and welcoming, and the adventure fun and challenging. As unforgettable as our visit was in itself, though, it was made even more meaningful because of what we experienced a year ago when we attempted to celebrate our first anniversary at a different adventure park in our area. We called beforehand to let the park staff know that we are blind, and they told us that was fine if we brought a sighted friend along. So we arrived, friend in tow, and were going through the safety briefing in full harness, when the park's off-site headquarters directed the local staff to stop the training. They informed us that my husband and I could only do their course if we each brought two sighted adults with us, but there was no such policy documented on their website or explained to us before our arival. They refunded us and gave us a voucher for the party of six that would be required to take their course, but, with such a blight on our anniversary, we knew we would never return. We wanted this year to be different. Through word of mouth, we heard that Empower had worked with blind youth before and shown them a great time, so we decided to give it a go. We weren't required to bring anyone along, and two guides went up with us, as with every other small group that comes. They walked us through everything beforehand, treated us like the capable adults we are, and encouraged us all the way. They could not have redeemed last year any more fully. Thank you, Empower, for making this anniversary one that we'll always remember--for the best of reasons. Highly, highly recommended! read more

We went to celebrate a friend's 65th birthday and had a blast! The guides were wonderful, the vista beautiful and we all survived. We took a group of college students to EMPOWER for a day of teambuilding and we had a blast! Our ziplining guide was excellent -- full of energy and enthusiasm. We were impressed with the high level of safety procedures EMPOWER takes to ensure the well being of their guests. We also did the Scavenger Hunt after ziplining, which was so much fun! Our students worked together as a team to solve various puzzles in the woods, which really brough them together as a unit. This place is amazing!! My fiance and I are adventure seekers and went last weekend and we had such a blast. Our tour guides Dan and Josh were amazing in every way. They were upbeat, funny, accommodating, and patient (when needed for people a little nervous). It sets itself apart from other zip lining locations because they have additional "obstacles" along the course. And they have other activities on site as well.
