Majority of all Issaquah/seattle nail techs need new professions. I come to this salon in a PINCH! The ladies are pretty bad at their job, my appointments always take longer because my nails are terribly shaped, always uneven, the polish is messy and I have to ask them to go back to fix it, they truly have no real passion for what they do and charge top dollar. I'm always slightly pissed and annoyed when leaving. My last appointment was the last straw for me. I, personally, don't have money to waste. read more

The place is under new management, and they seem pretty cool. They have all new chairs for pedicures and have cleaned the place up, but I miss the previous owners! Call me crazy but I don't think I should have to pay more just to get the skin on my toes and feet cleaned up. I'll keep going, but it makes me kind of sad. read more

I'd say this place is okay. I went before vacation and got a fill, a pedi and brow wax. I did get gel with my pedi but it was about $90.... Had it held up, I wouldn't have minded. The toes held up but my acrylic fill began lifting just a couple days later. By the time I returned, I had to go elsewhere and get an entire fresh set they were so bad. I've never had that happen. The worst was my brows- I was clear not to make them too short (narrow) but they did, and before I saw them she said "Oh you're missing some hair in eyebrow - like a scar. I fixed it though". Um, yeah. You fixed it by making them too short (so the tail portion ended too soon) exactly as I said not to. I will say they were nice and the place was clean but I wouldn't have them do my brows or fill again. I would consider another pedicure there, it held up well. read more

Vi does excellent pedicures but the other one is just rude and consistently does a poor job and provides poor service. I've had two overlays done now and the first time she completely skipped the manicure part so it looked terrible. I thought, OK maybe she's having a bad day, so I'll give it another shot. This time I called first and specifically said I wanted a manicure/pedicure with an overlay, and repeated it once I entered the store. Somehow it didn't stick and I had to remind her I was there for a manicure BEFORE the overlay. Then she got cranky and scolded me for not telling her sooner! When she was done, I ended up with a half-assed manicure with a poor polish job and polish still on my fingers. When I asked for some lotion, she pointed me to the bottle on the counter. I might return for a pedicure, but I'm definitely not spending another dime there on a manicure or an overlay. read more

Very disappointed. I came in and they had asked if I could come back a little later and I did. I had asked for dip nails. They were extremely nice throughout the appointment. I left satisfied and an hour later three of my nails had already chipped. I went back the next day to get them fixed and I simply got the lazy way of fixing it in my opinion. You can clearly see the line where he had just dipped the chipped part of my nail, so in the end the nail color isn't matching. Then the next day, ANOTHER nail chipped. I can back today to just get them off and show them the color and they asked if I could come back in an hour because they were busy. Very unfortunate. read more

A few negative points about this place. First and most importantly, the quality of work is poor. The lady doing my pedicure was very rough on my feet and gouged them with the tools repeatedly. The edges of the shellac manicure were uneven and messy looking upon leaving but I was in a hurry and didn't want to ask to have them re-done. They started chipping within 1 week when they usually last at least 2.5-4 weeks from most other salons. The worker doing my manicure was also unprofessional. After asking what I do for a living she started pressuring me to give her husband a recommendation for hire which was awkward since I've never met him and would not be able to vouche for his skills. I hate to give a bad review but $60 for this experience was a bit frustrating. I will not go back here. read more

Ladies and fellas. If you guys need a good and precise cleaning, come to this place. They take their time in cleaning up your nails. I've only been here for pedicures and they will give you the cleanest pedicures. I've brought two different friends here with ugly nails, and they leave here looking like they got a makeover. FRESH. Also. They give you realistic times. I've seen them turn down people and give them real time frames unlike other salons where they will say five to ten minutes to everyone and you end up waiting 40 mins. And they do not rush. read more

I walked in to see if I could get a pedicure, there was 1 person getting one and there were multiple employees there and they said NO, they couldn't serve me. Instead, the person getting a pedicure gets 2 employees, one doing the pedi one doing the mani. Instead of serving me as a customer. Never coming here again. I couldn't walk on my feet for 2 days after. I still have scabs on my cuticles and it's been a week. Pls avoid for your own safety. Also, i got a gel on my nails and spots were missing. After a long day of work my friend that I have not spoken to in months and I decided to get our nails done at Highland Nails. We scheduled an appointment, we got there and picked our color so far so good. My friend and I talked and hung out while getting our nails done. When the Nail Technician was done with my nails ( done very quickly) i looked at my nails and was very upset, I am not the type to complain if 1 nail is crooked but all of my nails were put on wrong and even the shellac was smudged and not painted on nicely ( the nail paint was sticky even after I was done placing under the UV light) I asked the nail technician nicely if there was a way she could please fix them and all she said was " what you want me to do?" I asked her to fix them. then she said " you and your friend talk to much, you should have checked your nails " I understand but she is a Nail Technician she knows how to shape nails ( she probably has done many in the past) I went to this nail salon to RELAX and catch up with my friend. I even wanted to pay for her time, but eventually the 3 Nail technicians were yelling at us. I was very upset and shocked that a place that you are supposed to feel relaxed can cause you so much stress ! When I was driving I noticed in the rear view mirror that one of them came out and took a picture of my license plate, I do not know why or for what reason she would do this. Really unsure how and why they are still in business. Don't see that being for much longer. Just had the most disturbing, disgusting, experience here. They are not colored person friendly, and I suggest anyone who cares about blatant disrespect and racism avoid this place. I sat down, and immediately informed the woman that my nail was cracked. Which was supposedly repaired by the man they have working there. It shouldn't have cracked that easily seeing I JUST got it repaired. I asked about pricing up front. She then proceeded to start removing the shellac with foil, which is fine, but normally they file. The whole entire experience was very time consuming. Had she initially listened to me, it wouldn't have been. When she finally realized she actually had to REPAIR my nail, she hurriedly cuts at it and rips it off disregarding my nail bed, which could've been a very bloody disaster. It was still painful and my actual nail is ruined. No apology, very rough the whole time. Then she noticed fungus, and rather than suggesting I remove my nails then and there, she said, next time. A DECENT nail tech would have just done so. I didn't ask because it was very apparent she did not want to work on my nails. After that whole process, my nails are shaped uneven and different lengths. Not what I asked yet I was afraid to say more due to her demeanor. I was then rudely accused of not flushing? I thought that was very inappropriate and highly offensive. I don't even skip a flush at home lol! They were gossiping back and forth in their language and she says to me, "She said you didn't flush". I was taken aback as I'm pretty sure they heard me. That made me very uncomfortable. At the end, I had questions about the pricing again, of which she became EXTREMELY irate, and highly unprofessional. She then proceeded to tell me, "I always complain", and "I don't have to come back"? I was shocked to say the least. Rather than try to retain me as a customer, and make sure I'm happy, she decides to argue with me and hurl insults, yet other customers she smiled and greets. It's very clear that I was discriminated against so she could not care less about my business or my money. Well, I will share my experience here, as I informed her, as well as any other platform, and with my peers as well. So unacceptable. To think that you can speak down to me, while sitting in a dated, old, dank salon, with old chairs, and dingy towels is beyond me. There's never anyone in there, so that was a huge red flag anyway. What I really like about them is that sometimes they give me suggestions on what to do on my nails whenever I have a trip, bday, or event coming up. I just was looking for a little bit more for this place. The service was good but there is no..I mean NO selection of nail polish here! Typically you find a place that has a good selection on the wall to pick for a nail color. With this selection it's as complex as the six colors of the rainbow and that's it! Best shellac place I have tried! Their shellac is well priced and stays on almost 3 weeks. I was recommended to come here after my banker said she goes here - and boy was I happy I took her recommendation. They make my shellac with black tips and a silver line - it's pretty and different and they do a great job. Even though I live in Everett - I still swear by this place and come here any chance I can. If you plan to come on a Saturday, be weary that you may wait a little while. They are always busy on these days. But trust me - it's worth it. :) read more

This place doesn't even deserve a 1. I came in about an hour and 20 minutes before they closed, which should've been plenty of time to do a mani and pedi. One of the ladies was free but did not take me right away, so by the time she started we had a little less than an hour to before they closed. She made sure to remind me at least 4 times that they closed at 7, and I reminded her that I had to wait for awhile, or there would've been enough time to do my nails without rushing. She was in such a rush while cutting my cuticles that she actually cut skin and made my finger bleed. Cuticles bleed like crazy! And then she continued to try to cut that same cuticle and I pulled my hand back several times because I was not about to get an infection! She didn't even offer me anything to clean it off with until I had to ask to go wash my hands to rinse the blood. As I walked to the sink I noticed an area near the sink on the floor that was absolutely crawling with ants! I almost ran Right out of there and I would've if I wasn't already mostly done with my services. The service here was atrocious and I will never be back, and I'll make sure to let others around me know to avoid this place. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very terrible experience here. While my nail technician was painting my toes, she quickly did all three coats and every single one of my toes were dented/smudged. When I asked politely for her to redo them, her and her co-worker whispered and laughed in Vietnamese right in front of my face. I found out about this place through Yelp! My cousin, sister and I wanted to get pedicures randomly one day and this was the closet and cheapest place to where we were at the moment. A regular pedicure was $20, about the average price. We were walk-ins and there was no wait, but thats probably because we came in at a weird hour on a weekday. My pedicure was not rushed- I felt like she (I never got her name, oops- sorry!) really took great care of me when I was there. I don't really care to have a conversation with the nail technician, so I was on my phone the whole time, or talking to my cousin & sister. However, I did noticed (from another customer next to me) that they do try and talk to you and are very friendly! 4 stars because I wish they had a wider and a higher end nail polish collection. If you ever come here, bring some of your colors just in case you can't find anything you like there. Other than that, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is one of the best nail salons in the Renton Highlands area. I have been going here for over ten years because I can never find another nail salon that meets my high expectations (I'm very picky) like Highland Nails. Everything from the nail technicians to the pricing is exemplary. Starting with the customer service, you will not meet a group of nail technicians who are as friendly, kind, and hard-working as the employees here. They are always happy to take care of walk-in customers, along with scheduled appointments. I sometimes forget to make an appointment, but every time I show up I am greeted with a smile and I'm taken care of without a long wait. Every time I come here, I get a mani/pedi and an eyebrow and lip wax. They are always stocking up on new nail polish colors and are always on top of the social trends. I am never disappointed in the service because everything down to the cuticle, hangnail, broken nail, etc. is always taken care of with the utmost attention to detail. When I go to other shops in the area, they are never half as good as the work done at Highland Nails. So I highly recommend stopping by at this nail salon and giving them a try! Terrible customer service - I work nearby and after a long day, wanted to wind down and get a pedicure. I called ahead of time to see if they were busy and they asked me to come in 30 minutes, so I did. I get there and they have a polish selection of about 15 colors, most of which were duplicates anyway. I find a decent color, and they tell me my water is ready. I sit there and wait with my feet soaking in lukewarm water for 30 minutes, without them even acknowledging me. So I gathered my things and I left. They didn't dare to even look my direction or speak a single word as I walked out of the salon. I understand being busy - but be straight up about it. If you don't have time to do something, say it! Now I've completely wasted my window of opportunity; I'm a single mom that works 7 days a week with 12-14hr shifts during the week. How the hell did this place get 4 stars? That's the only reason I went there! The decor sucks, their polish selection is crummy, and the lack of customer service skills are abundant. And I'm still in dire need of a pedicure! Ugh. read more

My first time there... was ok. The lady didn't do my shape right on my nails.. she didn't push back the cuticles... she was in a rush I think. She didn't ask the right shape she just cut away. Over all my nails look ok but the up keep will be a lot till these grow out. I assume it was intentional that I'd have to go back soon to fill since she over cut the shape. Not the best place for a relaxing pedicure. I was the only client and had 1/3 of the pedicure was a sales pitch of other services and the rest of it the 3 employes loudly carried on a conversation in another language including a speaker phone call with a bank. Customer service really was lacking and though the place is clean the employees are not friendly or considerate of clients. I wanted to try a new place closer to home, but I will not be returning. Upon walking in... their polish selection is non-existent, they didn't ask me how I preferred the shape of my nails and they were over filed and over polished. My nails were cut way too short and she mangled the edges. She was completely rushed as I was her last customer and I had polish all over my skin she neglected to take care of before allowing me to leave. I would not recommended this place to anyone. Had shellac manicure and pedicure. Been going here for years and even take my 12 year old daughter here also. Though the workers love to talk to each other while working, they love their customers and take good care of them making sure they are comfortable and happy with the results. If you want a quiet spa environment with candles and coffee, then go to a high end spa and pay higher salon prices. The place is clean and organized not cluttered. Quality is great and they paint flowers and designs on the nails perfectly. I've always been happy leaving. Prices are competitively low so cash is always better than credit so they don't have to pay the 2% bank fee. Plenty of parking in front and walk ins don't have to wait long as they have four or more employees working at one time. The owner does beautiful eyebrow waxing too. I will take my mom here for her birthday and have always recommended my friends to go here. read more
