Service: Great and appreciated! I came here on a walk in with my teenager who only got a manicure and I got a gel pedicure, and gel mani fill. Got in after 2pm they were very busy we only waited 15 mins. They kept checking on us throughout our service asking if everything was going well and if we wanted a beverage. Quality: Pedicure - most people are very particular about their nails, me it's my feet. My pedicure was so good, my feet and toe nail beds look so clean and neat and oil was used for my massage and then lotion on top which is the very first time I left a nail shop and my feet and legs were NOT ashy, I was very happy with my pedicure. Nails - Now my nail service was outstanding! I've been trying to wear buda gel nails and been a few places and my nails would just look so thick and ugly, but Tara listened to my concerns looked at my nails and understand the assignment! She took her time and she filled my nails with a brush stick instead of the brush that comes in the nail polish. She also used that really tiny brush they use to make designs to fill the gel out on the sides of my nail bed. She was very attentive, did a good job and kept checking that I was happy throughout. Vibe: everyone seemed happy to help the clients to get their services and the prices were very reasonable especially considering the outstanding service and quality of work they provide. Conclusion: I'll be a repeat customer! Ps. Parking is a bit hard, it's by the community college so street parking is scarce and garage parking is also scarce so you might have to park further and walk depending on the time of day I guess, just FYI.

I've been to this nail salon twice now and both times have been great experiences! Both times, I got a dip manicure with a specific nail design that I showed a picture of and each time they were happy to replicate it and did a fantastic job. The first mani lasted me about a month and probably could've gone longer but they were looking overgrown and I was antsy to refresh. I was a walk-in the first time for a Friday evening which was very busy and called ahead to schedule an appointment the second time around for a Friday afternoon which was a little quieter. Service is fast and efficient, making sure to seat you right away, ask if you want something to drink, and ask multiple times throughout if you like the look. I also got their most basic pedicure service on the second visit and was very happy with the look and the thoroughness. The location is tucked away right next to the Austin Community College campus so pretty easy to find.

I was in the area and decided to walk-in without an appointment. I checked in on the iPad in front and then was immediately seated and started looking through the color options. I asked for a dip manicure, and Tin removed my old polish while I searched for the color I wanted. I settled on a beautiful dark brown! I was able to secure parking just behind the nail salon in one of the retail spots in the parking garage. It's always nice when you can find covered parking in Austin! Tin expertly removed my old manicure and let me know it would be $8 extra to remove the old acrylic. He told me I would need to do regular dip (not acrylic application) with the dark brown color I chose, which was fine with me. He re-shaped my nails into an almond shape (they were square-oval before) and the whole appointment took maybe 1 hr, start to finish. I think he did a great job, and I look forward to returning next month!

Just got my nails done here at Highland Nails & Spa .... I've been coming here for two years now and they never disappoint.... Nails in the picture are done by Tara, BUT they are all super good at what they do! I was able to walk in and show them a picture from Pinterest of what I wanted and results were AMAZING! Rose just gave me the best pedicure I have had in years!! This is only my second time coming here because I don't live very close to it and I don't spoil myself enough. But it is worth it. I do hair and nails, so I'm very picky about my services., and I don't have to be here they do everything correctly. The atmosphere is very chill. Everything is very clean.. I just moved here from Atlanta and this is the first nail salon I've had the chance to try. Knocked it out of the park and I'll definitely be a regular. Beautiful spot. Vy and Julia were so great! I'm usually pretty sensitive when I get my nails done and occasionally my cuticles will get hurt. I was actually able to relax and enjoy without fear of getting nicked the girls did such a good job and I really appreciate that!!

-5/10 experience I have been coming here for a while and was extremely upset to be taken advantage of at my last appointment. I initially was going to get a gel manicure and after having my old gel removed and seeing how paper thin my nails were I decided to skip the gel and just get a regular manicure with cuticle trim, gel removal. The woman told me it would be $30 to get the gel removed and trim my cuticles/dry skin around my nails. I felt completely taken advantage of as a gel manicure is $40 but I would be paying $10 less to have my old manicure removed and my nails cut. She was absolutely taking advantage of me and price gouging charging me $15 to trim the dead skin around my cuticles, and now I will never go back. I paid $13 after the very nice man up front offered me a $2 discount for my experience, however they've just lost a customer forever for this woman's actions. I didn't get her name. I can imagine they get away with taking advantage of people daily, so be aware. Absolutely unacceptable.

I finally found my holy grail nail salon. I pass by several decent nail salons on the way, but it's worth the drive. I won't get my nails done anywhere else in Austin. Everyone is helpful, friendly and welcoming. I walk out satisfied every time. I show them inspiration photos and they come out better than the picture. I love this place. Really amazing service! My friend and I are scrambling to find nail salons for our graduation photo nails and we're so glad we picked here. The vibe is really nice with Halsey's songs (which I love) and the people who did our nails, Jolie and Lee are SOO patient with us despite it already being 5:30 and they close in 90 minutes. I went in for their special 20 percent off discount without evening knowing! The place is gorgeous and very clean. Along with being within Covid 19 safety standard. I felt really safe. All masks and safe distances between the clients and staff . I love how they take their time and not rushing the process. I was looking for a nail salon nearby and the reviews for Highland Nails looked promising! Overall I'm very happy with how my nails came out, the service and the price for my gel manicure. I really wanted to get simple flowers on my ring fingers to add a little design, but the person doing my nails wasn't able to execute my vision. I'm very glad he decided to call for back-up because I loved how the flowers turned out! The lady did a great job. I think the only thing that I didn't like was I had 2 little cuts on my hand afterwards from too much filing and a little snip when cleaning my cuticles, which I discovered shortly when putting on hand sanitizer in the car. Otherwise, I got what I came for and my nails looked great! read more

I was visiting the area and decided to try this place. Considering they had gotten high ratings on Yelp I thought it was going to be a good experience, not. I made an appointment so I did not have to wait, but I went on a Tuesday morning at 11:30 a.m. so I don't think I even needed the appointment. I was asked what I needed done, I said I wanted my nails dipped and a pedicure. I was asked to pick out the color for my toes, then sat in the pedicure chair. I was given 2 baskets of color samples, 1 for gel colors and 1 for dipped. I had dipped already and wanted dipped but the color selection for dipped was terrible!! I found the color I wanted (which was neon yellow) only in the gel!! I asked if they had Neon colors in dipped and they did not, again, the selection in dipped was terrible!! I got my toes done in a bright green color which was very light. The lady doing my pedicure asked me if I wanted a design. I said "yes", she said "flower," I said what other design besides a flower, she laughed and said again "flower," I said ok, flower. She painted a white flower on each big toe in white that blended in with the color of toes, so essentially I paid extra for a design you can't see lol... When I started doing my nails they said since I wasn't doing dipped it was an extra $7.00 to take that product off lol, but that's what I came in for and they did not have any good color choices!! I'm going on vacation and asked if they had stickers, they said yes, I asked if they had Palm Trees and of course that was a no!! The tech doing my nails kept filling my nails and leaving them crooked!! As she would fix them my nails got thinner and thinner, shorter and shorter!! She had no idea how to make the gel nail polish look like the color it was supposed to be until another tech explained to her how to apply the product!! There is so much more, but it's too much to write lol. $101.00 later, before tip. I felt bad and still have the nail tech $10 and the pedicure tech $10 for tip. All together I spent $121.00 for the WORSE nail appointment I've ever had!! I'm going on vacation in 2 days and I'm hoping my nails last until then, when I get back from vacation I'm going to find a nail salon that knows what there doing and also that does not leave cuts around my cuticles!! Worse experience, and even worse was the way my nails look and feel . Never going back, and will not recommend to family and friends that live in that area. read more

Lately when I come in I feel the services are rushed. The last 2 ladies that did my pedicure were rough on my toes and left a small bruise on my toe nail. When they were using the nail buffer they were scratching skin on my feet. I told the lady and she seemed annoyed. However I will say the guy that did my nails did a great job! read more

Great nail salon! We were visiting from out of state and came here for pedicures. It's gorgeous inside and the staff is so welcoming. They offer you refreshments while you're in the chair. I have been researching to find my go to place since moving to Austin. When I walked in, they had just opened but were quick to start on my services. I had both my full set and pedicure done at the exact same time which was awesome because I figured my time there was going to be longer but they got me in and out so quickly. This salon is roomy, bright and very clean. Their service is consistently friendly and of high quality. They offer a wide selection of polish and mani / pedi types. The massage chairs are newer, comfy and functional. There is a great coffee shop right next door and a yummy French bakery across the street if you want a little extra time for yourself. There's plenty of free parking in the building or in the same complex across the street. Occasionally I find parking right in front of the salon too. I recommend them. read more

I came to highland on a Wednesday afternoon as a walk in. They weren't too busy and I was instructed to check in on the tablet at the checkout counter. The tablets asks you what service you will like so there is no confusion. I recieved a gel mani and detox gel pedicure. The salon is very clean and luxurious looking. The profesional who greeted me to begin my pedicure offered me some water to drink and got me situated. She did an amazing job on my feet and took her time to make sure she gave me a true experience. My feet are so pretty and soft now. I got my manicure done while I was being serviced for my pedi. I really appreciated that because I always dread getting my nails done after my pedicure because I like to be in and out of the nail salon. I am so thankful they did such an amazing job on my hands and feet. I felt so refreshed and relaxed after my visit ! read more

Awesome nail salon in the new ACC Highland complex where the retail stores are (next door to Bennu). There are convenient street parking spots right in front of the salon. I was excited to find a salon so close to my house with 5 stars. I'm disappointed that my experience didn't live up to this rating. I will start by saying that I did not plan to leave any review at all as the studio gave me a 10% discount off my manicure and a little lotion. However, my cut finger is still throbbing and my fingers are sore as I type this. I went to the salon yesterday and requested an ombré French acrylic manicure and a regular pedicure. The woman who sat down to do my nails was not told I wanted acrylic and immediately both nail techs tried to convince me there was no reason for me to want acrylic over SNS or dip. For my nails, I've noticed that I like the way acrylic looks more and that they last longer for me. The other lady came over and let me know that they actually don't have anyone who can do acrylic right now. That is a reasonable reason so I agreed to dip even though I wasn't sure if it would look the same. The next point of contention was the shape, I originally asked for coffin. The same tech argued with me over the shape and then when I asked for my nails to be shorter basically ignored me. She also disagreed that I wanted coffin. I don't care about nomenclature so I described the shape. Then she started on the color and showed one to me and it wasn't ombré. It was one block of color and then another block of color on top. I've had this nail color before so I knew it didn't look right. I tried to reason like maybe it will look better with the shaping done. The woman was annoyed and argued with the other lady in her language (she had been muttering about me in her language the whole time I was there btw - note to the studio - we can still tell trash talk when we can't understand the words!) I was relieved when she swapped out with the other lady who was kinder. She and I agreed that I didn't need ombré because it wasn't looking good with the dip. We switched to a one tone dip. I was scared at this point to say anything at all, because I felt so shamed by this studio for their inability to do the nails I asked for - which would hav been fine if they had just said so. The kind lady for some reason sawed at my finger pad with her file and cut me with her nail while she was trying to force it down. She did a good job, but they weren't coffin nails and they were very long and quite sharp. I had to file them down myself when I got home so I wouldn't cut my dog or self on accident. The man who gave my pedicure was nice and easy going. I didn't really look at my toes until this morning because I was so scared to say anything. My big toe and my pinky toe are a bit messed. Obviously I didn't say anything. Overall the experience just left me feeling sad and disappointed. I get my nails done very frequently and don't think my expectations were out of line as I'm typically not treated this way. read more

Just went and tried this nail salon today and had a wonderful experience. I opted for the Collagen Pedicure and gel manicure and couldn't be happier. The Pedicure was one for the books. No matter which nail tech I have, they always do a high quality job and the consistency across technicians is solid. I get dip manicures and they last 4 weeks (honestly, they'd last longer if my nails didn't grow so quickly!). April does amazing designs, so if you have an instagram inspiration, ask for her! I was discriminated due to my race while Anglo Americans received wine and other beverages, 2 or 3 people with one customer because of their race.
