Have been to Highland Pizza many many times before. It is a Fall River staple. It's a part of the local culture and tradition just as much as sneaking out the back of church after communion. Every time I bring somebody to Fall River, we have to go to Highland Pizza. Frankly I prefer a thick crust pizza, and Highland Pizza has the crunchiest thin crust you could imagine. But there's something about it. Maybe it's the nostalgia -- or the "saudade" as one might call it. Maybe it's the extra grease that I like to dab off with a napkin (just one or two dabs, though, you don't want to take it ALL off). Either way, while Highland Pizza may not be perfect on paper, it's the perfect establishment to have operated so long in Fall River. The chorico pizza and Hawaiian pizza are my two favorites, but you really can't go wrong with whatever you get. The Greek salad and homemade dressing are also incredible as a side to the main course. A place where I have had many great memories, as have almost everyone you meet in town. But PLEASE somebody tell them they need to accept cards! read more

Tried this spot while driving about as it had a good vibe driving by. I ordered a small Peperoni pizza and a greek salad both of which were awesome. The pizza was crispy, tasteful, and the dough was thin like I prefer. The Greek salad I had with it was also fantastic. I could not ask for more as even the price was better than expected. I love the crunchy dough on their pizzas! It is just the right consistency: a crunch on the outside and a soft dough on the inside. They are always accommodating with our 1/2 to 1/2 variation on our pizza. I also love their pastrami grinder and their tuna salad grinder ( their pepper sauce really adds a great touch). Their drinks are bottles, and also their Greek salad is a great addition to get those extra veggies in. And their special Greek salad dressing is a unique blend of Greek spicies and feta cheese. Harriet is always there to serve you with a friendly smile and her sons, Savvas and Alex, are there somewhere in the back preparing for the steady flow of customers. The other long-time staff members, Mike and Reggie , are the friendliest guys always serving with a smile. There is ample seating and a TV usually tuned into a sport channel. Street parking can be a little challenging but I've never had an issue (maybe just a little walk.) read more

I love Highland Pizza not only out of a sense of nostalgia but because their food is actually really good. The decor hasn't been updated since I was a kid and it appears they're in no rush to make changes in the future. As far as I can tell, they don't have a website or delivery. Don't expect them to accept anything but cash to pay with either. The staff oscillates between frazzled and disinterested any time you walk in. However, they have successfully resisted modernization because their food is so good no one cares if they are inconvenienced as customers when they go in. When my husband and I got home from a trip out-of-state last week we decided we needed to reaclimate ourselves to The Riv with delicious local delicacies. A small pepperoni and a small Hawaiian style pie hit the spot along with a crisp Greek salad to balance out the carbs a bit. If you eat inside you can order cheap beer with your food but I always get mine to go. Highland Pizza is worth it if you live or work in Fall River but until they update they're not really worth going out of your way for. read more

I was visiting friends in Fall River and we decided to get delivery from Highland Pizza. Two pies...cheese and pepperoni. Delivery was prompt and the pizzas were still warm. Both had nice crispy crust that made a sound when I took a bite into them... The toppings were very nicely done, a bit salty for my taste, but nevertheless, tasty. I under stand I called late but all we wanted was a small cheese pizza lightly cooked theybanser with we're close for the night when it says they stop taking orders kindly at 7:45 understandably but this has happened or us at 7:30 I get out of work late I have a less then 5 minute order they just hung right up on me and we used to come weekly until we felt with the evening crew or some of them sound like the same man as usual. mind you we tip well my husband is a chef in the city so I get it but this is a constant like how do you expect to make the most profit if you have a shit work ethic and want to run out the door right at 8pm the. close at 7 it's just insane to me. then I go to express my frustration on here and it seen they already have a low rating hmmm I wonder why there one kid this a little shorter that works all the time and he is awesome always but hes the only one who actually gives a shit and isn't afraid to work !!! I ordered a Greek salad with extra bread, dressing, and feta cheese along with a pizza and sub. Upon picking it up, the owner started reading my order to me and said Greek with tuna. I said no, I did not order tuna. I actually don't eat seafood due to being allergic to shell fish. So I avoid any seafood at all cost. The owner says well I took the order. I'm like sorry, I didn't order tuna. He said I did! Seriously?! When I was leaving, he follows me to the door and says have a nice day extremely cocky...I said ya, you too. Then he starts yelling HAVE A NICE DAY. I'm like if you weren't so busy being a jerk you would have heard me say have a nice day. This is the second time the owner has been extremely rude for no reason other than he made a mistake. I'd say skip this place and go to Cousin Mike's or Swansea House of Pizza. Walked in and up to the counter to place our order. The last time I was here was 15 years ago in high school so naturally I wasn't familiar with the menu. The cashier was very rude when we ordered. So rude that we didn't even complete our order because we felt like we'd be putting him out to press the register buttons anymore. Solid, tasty, no frills food on a shoestring budget. Highland Pizza tastes like my childhood, and its probably the only place around where you can get a pie and a cold beer for under ten bucks. They don't deliver, everything is sopping in grease, and the service is shoddy at best, but that's all part of the Fall River charm. read more

I am absolutely in love with Highland pizza's food! I think they have been great in maintaining quality and prices people can afford. The Greek salads, and pizza are perfect, and generous. The atmosphere is like a flashback to the 70's but hey it works. I would have complimented the review with higher stars but the workers, or possibly owners are not the most sociable when ordering out, or calling in. Sometimes it takes way too long to even be noticed--they really need to work on their people skills. However, the food is the most important thing to me so whatever I'd try it if I were you!! At least you will not be surprised when you get home and open the box---they do put toppings on their pizza!! read more

I've lived in Fall River my whole life, and always when there's a celebration to be had or a pizza to be eaten, we go to Highland. It's just family tradition. I have to say, though, if you haven't been in a few years, don't expect the same good service and generous helpings. They went under new management a few years back and, well, it's never been the same. Still good (still very greasy) but it's just not the same when your cheese isn't thicker than the bread. Their crust is nice and crunchy, though, which I like. It's all on taste preference, but if you like gooey, melty cheese like you would see in a cartoon, this is your place. read more
