I found my new dentist! I went here as a new patient this Monday and was absolutely blown away by the friendliness of every staff member I encountered. I had not been to a cleaning in 2 years, I know I know not good. They took their time cleaning my teeth which was much appreciated. Still no cavities 24 years later :) And apparently July was new patient month so I got a free Sonicare toothbrush! Holla! I already made my next appointment for 6 months from now. Nobody likes going to the dentist but this team makes it as painless as possible. It's only expensive if you don't have dental insurance....and if that's the case,and you're concerned about cost, than you shoul probably be going to Comfort Dental or Mr. Teeth. I've been a patient at this practice for over 8 years. The office is high tech and my appointment is always right on time. I've never felt that that waste my time. I find that the hygienist and Dr Arnold are both quite personable and chat just the right amount of time with me. Billing has always been accurate and they are knowledgable about my insurance. Who knew I could look forward to going to the dentist?? I do though because these ladies are the best. My son needed emergency care once I grabbed him at school during lunch and I was back in clinic for the afternoon! They fixed and refixed a stubborn tooth of mine and my hygienist yesterday was awesome. I went here the other day for my teeth cleaning. Was a little unsure when they told me that my first visit would be about $450 (for 2 types of x-rays and a teeth cleaning). The staff was nice and the building was clean and updated. I will probably be going back. read more

I have had a great experience with Highland Smiles after a couple of visits. I can't address concerns other reviewers have expressed over price, as I've only had cleanings and those were reasonable. I must be some kind of nut because I go to the dentist religiously every four months (rather than the recommended six months).... but knock on wood, I've haven't had any problems in years. I have dental insurance, but I had to pay one cleaning out of pocket, due to the fact that I go more than the recommended amount, and it was definitely in line with what I generally expect. I have had terrible experiences with dentist over the last few years so it's such a relief to finally find a place that I love. I stopped going to any dentist two years ago and when I finally went into Highland Smiles I thought I was going to get "the lecture". You know the lecture about brushing, flossing, and cleanings. I got none of that! The exact response from my hygienist was, "It happens." The entire staff was so friendly and seemed to be having fun. I'm almost excited to go back in 6 months. read more

I love Highland Smiles! Like most people, I hate going to the dentist, but everyone here made me feel very comfortable despite that I'm not the world's best at flossing. I knew coming in as a new patient that I needed a lot of work. The staff helped me make informed decisions. They were patient and friendly along the way. I needed two crowns, and they squeezed me in so that I could get the work done before the end of the year (despite my own poor initial scheduling) allowing me to use my FSA money before it was no longer available. I've been going to Highland Smiles for a few years now and they have always been very friendly and efficient. I like that you can make appointments online and also confirm appointments in this manner. The front desk is also fantastic and kind. I've been seen by Dr. Rohleder and Dr. Arnold and they are both fantastic! Any work that I've needed has been done in timely manner and with the utmost care. They have also been able to see me on short notice if I've had any tooth pain or discomfort. This place is great! I wanted a nice local place that I didn't have to drive forever to receive good, relaxed dental care and I found it. WAY too expensive, especially when they told me they are one of my network providers and they are NOT. After a few trips for pricey work, I was still not told. Only after contacting my insurance to find out why it was costing me so much did I find out they were out of network. Thanks!! They send you a text message to remind you of your appointment, give you great music and headphones to drown out the sound of drills and are up to date with the latest technology and techniques. Makes me sad to say it - but avoid this dentist! I came in pain free but suffered through 8 months of pain after filling my "tiny cavity". The most frustrating part was that the dentist's solution was to give it time - b/c evidently the tooth would just improve with time. I finally got them to replace the filling once which briefly seemed to fix things - but only for a few weeks. When the problem persisted and they couldn't explain the problem - they again suggested just giving it time - like 6 to 8 months. I've moved on to a new dentist. The new dentist fixed the problem and says that the idea that this problem would eventually have fixed itself was not possible. read more

I had a few great experiences with Highland Smiles - on time, great facility, convenient - however, after my last visit I will not go back or refer anyone else to them. I was scheduled to get 2 fillings done and was quoted $126 for my out-of-pocket payment, which I was asked to pre-pay prior to my visit. Two weeks after receiving the treatment, I got a bill in the mail for an ADDITIONAL $141 out-of-pocket (totaling more than double my original quote), with no explanation of the additional expense or follow up from the office. When I called, the front desk claimed that some insurance companies don't cover the white fillings (the only service H.S. offers) and they typically warn patients that an additional fee may be due, but they've had high turnover and the new staff probably forgot to tell me. I paid the fee but will not go back, and feel necessary to warn other patients. read more

I went in for a regular preventative dentist cleaning in January 2014. And while the cleaning appeared to have been conducted in accordance with standard dentistry practice, an extensive treatment plan with a monetary value of around $2,900 was recommended. I thought this was odd since I have been to several dentists in the Denver area in past few years and have never received such an extensive treatment plan. So I pursued a second opinion, and the new dentist discredited everything Highlands Smiles recommended based on widely accepted medical and dentist practices, including a crown and enhanced gum cleaning. The second dentist only recommended a minor filling compared to Highlands Smiles recommended crown, due to the good structural integrity of the tooth, and recommended no enhanced gum cleaning because my gum pocket depths were all less than 3 mm, which is a widely accepted dentistry guideline. I recommend that caution be excersized with this dentistry practice for any recommended treatments. A second opinion saved me thousands of dollars. read more

I saw Dr. Jennifer Rohleder and was very happy with her and the whole practice. They have a lot of high tech equipment (whole head scan for x-rays! what?) and some other cancer screening equipment I had no idea about. I love that they have early morning hours, and everyone was still perky enough to say hello. I found it a little strange that all the hygienists work in an open space, and there was a line of dentist chairs (maybe 6 or 7?) I can tell that they service a lot of people. Despite this fact, I didn't feel like they were rushing me in and out, it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be. I had 3 hygienists/assistants come in contact with me, and I was even more impressed that they were helping and communicating with each other. One even offered to help the girl cleaning my teeth "chart". The girl cleaning my teeth (Amy?) took A LOT of time cleaning my teeth, more time than anyone has ever spent on me. I didn't mind because she was so thorough and I could visibly tell a difference once I got home. I would recommend Highland Smiles to anyone. read more

Poor quality assurance prior to appointment. Did not realize I was using a medication until scheduled appointment, and appointment had to be terminated. This could have been avoided if medication history was reviewed prior. Called front office to get information on future follow up. They were going to consult with Doctor and return call. This is a great place. Everyone here is super friendly and they do wonderful work. I had moved to Denver recently and needed a new dentist. A co-worker recommended this office and I couldn't be happier. Had x-rays and a cleaning on one visit, and came back the following week for a crown and fillings. Both times everyone was personable and professional, and just a great atmosphere and great service. Highland Smiles is an excellent dental office. The dental assistant took care to mind my sensitive areas while providing an exceptional cleaning. My wisdom teeth are pushing through making it painful to open wide. The dental assistant was very understanding and patient while trying to fit the x-ray equipment in my mouth. The dentist was equally understanding and respectful. I appreciated the way both, the dentist and dental assistant explained what they were going to do before each part of the exam and cleaning. I am completely satisfied in the way I was treated and will definitely recommend this dental practice to others. read more

Actually I remember very clearly exactly what happened. I paid the additional amount because I received a bill after 90 days saying I owed around $137.00 because my insurance didn't cover enough of the crown. I paid the amount and then received a phone call from the office saying that my insurance actually paid more of my claim so I was reimbursed around $95.00. I didn't get a reimbursement for the crown that was set but I did get reimbursed for the additional money that I paid because my insurance covered more. Also I was asked to come back in to work on my crown again and I politely refused the offer and stated I would have another dentist fix it. I'm not sure why anyone in the office thought my issue was resolved but that's not the case at all. read more

Highland smiles is really great and I strongly recommend it. Every time I have been there the staff is very friendly and kind. It is a very nice atmosphere as well. Today the dentist bonded my front tooth. This is a procedure that I have had several times since chipping it several years ago mountain biking, and let me tell you, the matching and the shaping of the bonded tooth can greatly differ by dentist. This dentist took her time, shaping and matching it beautifully. She made it look excellent. I have been admiring my newly bonded front tooth all day. I had to go back from a crown, after my root canal. I have a very sensitive mouth, and usually require extra numbing, and they listened to my concerns, and addressed my worries. I am SO happy I made the switch over to them, from my prior dentist. I need to go back for a few more fillings, and now I will be handled in a great manner! read more

After 10+ plus years of no dentist work, I was a little concerned about my upcoming trip. The Highland Smiles experience was top notch! Dr. Kara Arnold and the young ladies she has working for her are very professional and friendly. The cleaning and cavity experience was very casual and dare i say almost comforting. There is a light and open feel to the dentist chairs, and a great playlist of music on the house iPods.
