This 2 gentleman went above and beyond to see that everything was taken care of . They where at my house for pg&e program that helps me and my house be energy-efficient. several delays in completing the project, I didn't actually get tax money back merely a useless tax credit good for 1 year for any taxes owed. I was told my panels would cover 100% of my energy needs & I told them I would be buying an electric car. i pay $217 a month for my panels & about $150 a month for my power bills. I can't think of one thing I have been happy with since I did business with them. Run from these clowns as fast as you can. Sloppy, slow installation, poor communication ( I felt totally ignored ) & sub standard panels. So i've had the pleasure of working with Tony & his crew .. & honestly he's so professional . Not only is he professional he is personable as well . Especially when it comes to working in the areas of customer service . I ended up getting contracted to them through PG&E . We had a PG&E service tech come out previously for a different issue with our oven . That tech is actually the one who referred us to their weatherization program for home owners . So anyways , the process on getting somebody to come out was a breeze . This is his second trip out to our home & he's been open & honest about everything that's been going on in the house . That's one thing i appreciate is the honesty throughout this entire process . They have come to fix my lighting fixtures , replace bulbs , fix my furnace , weather strip my doors & also my windows . It's still issues with our home not fault of theirs , due to a crappy inspection job from when we purchased the home . OVERALL , we're getting the home fixed & up to speed through them & PGE ! If you needed anybody to come out , i would recommend requesting Tony for the job . read more

Their workers didn't complete job & did most of the work incorrectly. Messed up my kitchen light switch. When inspector came to check their work. Things I pointed out wrong. He seem upset wanted to be argue mental. I had to ask him to leave my home. They supposed to have check installation in attic. Workers or inspection went in attic. I ask inspector couple time was he going to check attic. He told me if I wanted him too. He was about to leave. I ask if he was honing to check attic. He made all type of excuses. I told him I don't want to bother him he don't want to do it he could leave. He kept trying to argue he don't have to check it. I said could you please leave I guess your job is done. Could he please leave. He was being weird whole time I'm my home. Checking thing workers didn't even look or touch. To much to type that was wrong. Do yourself a favor don't allow these ppl in your home. They damage things instead of fixing it. And argue blame you or say it was about to go out anyways. Only thing worker Angel was excellent he replaced wiring. Home warranty supposedly have fixed. Do yourself a favor hire someone to make repairs on your own home. Man, their service smacks of "low bidder" everywhere. They administer the PG&E low income energy assistance program. The intake appointment was fine, everything else was like a crew of under-trained squirrels were unleashed on the house. They used inferior quality bulbs, refused to take care of the window leaks. The program was bureaucratic, run by people who have no idea what energy efficiency is, and entirely a waste of time. read more

Hannah and Daniel did a great job! I highly recommend Hannah and Daniel to come out and service your home. They were very thorough with sealing the outside doors/sliding doors and windows. They even sealed up holes throughout the house. They insulated all of our outlets and lights so no air can get through the outlets. They checked our Gas and water heater for leaks. Sub-contracted to a Tesla Solar Install. The delays and excuses I heard from them are two numerous to count. When they show up, they will tell how soon they will be coming back to complete the job then not show up or call. If you can get a phone number, you can call a Highlands employee but your not likely to get the truth regarding how they plan to push your project to completion. In summary, when you Highland Energy is involved there are no guarantees how or when the job will be done; a complete roll of the dice. read more

They overcame obstacles they could have slowed them down dramatically and problem solved in real time. Alex was the crew chief and manage his guys to a great result. I had Highland out to assist me with weather proofing my windows. DON'T USE THIS CRIPPLING-INADEQUATE FUNCTIONING GROUP. My thermostat has not worked correctly since they touched it. Since they could NOT weather proof windows they thought to help me they would check out other PGE functions in the home. Since they tested my carbon monoxide unit & turned the temp up to 95+ my thermostat is NOT FUNCTIONING. Two guys came back & didn't know the problem. Claim they know nothing about thermostats. My question to them. "Why did you touch it???" I have to come downstairs three times a nite to turn it up. When they came back it was the same old story. "WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THERMOSTATS. I am stuck as a Senior with a bad thermostat-people who came out & don't know anything about anything. **They refuse to help me by calling someone to replace or fix it.** I feel the staff at PGE should replace what they broke. read more

It's nice that PG&E sends out a crew to help you save energy on your home for free. The crew that came did weatherstripping on the doors, windows, attic, and replaced some old light fixtures in the bathrooms while also changing all the bulbs in the house with LEDs. I don't want to give them 1 star only because it was a free service, but if I had to pay I would give them 1 star. My complain was that I already had a few LED bulbs around the house that I purchased myself, and they replaced them with theirs and took my bulbs with them. I had bright white daylight bulbs and they replaced them with soft yellow bulbs that make the house look depressing and lighting is now inadequate inside. I would have been okay with it if they left my bulbs but they didn't, they took them. I spent good money on those. Also they are very unprofessional with how they leave your house once they finish. There was a lot of drywall on the counters from where they replaced the fixtures and a lot of debris from the attic on the carpet when they went up to seal it. They don't bother to clean after themselves, and then they inconvenience you more by saying your stove is leaking gas, so they shut it off and you have to wait for PG&E to come by and turn it on only to say nothing is wrong. Based on other reviews about them seems like this is pretty common. read more

If I could give this company a rating in the negative numbers, that's what you would be seeing. This company is contracted through PG&E's CARE program to evaluate and assist in making your home more energy efficient and service your air conditioner. They are also in the business of selling solar. When the first crew came to our home, they ran out of here like a pack of five year olds who knew they'd done something wrong. They said PG&E had been called due to a gas leak in the laundry room. I have nose like a bloodhound and had never detected an odor. PG&E responded immediately and the nice fellow fixed a "teeny, tiny pinhole" in the flex hose behind the dryer. Following that incident, the weather was very pleasant and there was no need for heating or air conditioning. On May 23rd, a different Highland crew came and changed all our bulbs to LED and installed weatherstripping. We went out of town for a couple of weeks and, upon our return, we found that neither our heater nor our air conditioner were in working order. We've made several calls to them. They sent somebody from their crew over yesterday who claims they have no responsibility in the matter. We contacted his supervisor, Israel, after several attempts yesterday. He promised a call back at 8AM today. Finally, at 8:40 this morning, Israel called saying that he would get a contractor over and call us right back. By 10:45AM, we had no call and no contractor. We called his office (209-522-3633 or 209-275-8570) and were advised he's out of the office for the day. It was 107 degrees here yesterday, and is expected to top out at 110 tomorrow. It's quite a coincidence that everything in our home was working perfectly before the arrival of that first crew. DO NOT - I REPEAT - DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ALLOW THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOME. Terrible service and terrible customer service. Pge sent them to do weatherization at my house. After the guy left, my hot water heater stopped working. After several calls to him and his office, days later he returns (I was without hot water the entire time) and told me it was a defective part, totally unrelated to anything he did, suggested I get the part and have a plumber install it. I did (another week without hot water). When liscensed plumber came to install the part, discovered it was not the problem, instead was told heating element was fried and I needed a new hot water heater. Had it replaced at my expense, called pge to complain. They referred me back to Highland. They sent a manager out to talk to me. He told me the guy should have turned it into pge when I called to tell him it wasn't working. But because he didn't do his job the manager told me he didn't know what they could do for me but he'd review/escalate it and get back to me. It's been 1 month since the manager was here and I have not heard from anyone. read more

I signed up for the energy assistance program through PG&E. Highland Energy is contracted with them and were sent to my home. They did change all our light bulbs and some fixtures. The old fixtures and bulbs were left on the tables or counters where they had replaced to the new LED light bulbs. They did clean up their packaging. They also replaced the weather stripping on our doors. The workers were pleasant enough but said we had gas leaks in the stove and the water heater. They even checked the fireplace. I am sensitive to smells and didn't smell a thing. PG&E came out and found nothing wrong with either the stove or the water heater.Yesterday, I went to turn on the fireplace and there was no gas. I called Highland and they wouldn't be able to send anyone out until today from 10 AM-2 PM. I called PG&E and they came out right away and turned the gas back on to the fireplace. Some of the stripping on the back door is already starting to fall off. They offered to check our air conditioner and heater and I said no because we had had it done a year ago. I was not pleased with this latest outcome. I would think the workers would know to turn the gas back on after checking the fireplace for leaks. read more

The first guys that came out were very nice and helpful. The job could not be completed. When the second group of guys showed up a few week later I found out the what the rep. said was not correct and I was promised to much. I felt like I was miss lead and would not recommend using highlands energy when there are so many competing companies out there. Best of luck in your enerfy choices!!
