These pancakes are HUGE! I got this plate to share with my boyfriend and couldn't even finish my own pancake. Service was pretty good, we did have to wait a bit for the food but I think they were busier than normal. Overall no real complaints, we had a good experience. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Stopped by for lunch. I met the new owner. The menu is no longer outside on the wall. They took our order from the table. My son ordered chicken strips and my wife a cheeseburger, they both enjoyed it. Homemade pastrami was available for the first time in a few years. The pastrami was fire. I subbed mayonnaise for mustard, and lettuce & tomato for the pickles. The rye bread was ok, but next time I would order a hamburger bun to keep it together better. You no longer need a key to get into the bathrooms.

My wife and I stopped here just before 3pm on a Sunday. There are 8 tables inside that seat two to four and appear to be easily assembled for larger groups. In addition, there are several tables on back patio. Most of the tables were occupied but there was one 2 seat table by the back door which we took. We were brought menus and had our drink orders taken. It seemed like they were really busy in the dining area as tables turned quickly. We had to ask that our table be wiped. We checked out the menu and when our drinks arrived, we placed our order. My wife ordered the mushroom swiss burger and I chose the pastrami sandwich. We both ordered fries as our side. There are not many places to get something to eat near the intersection of 89 and 44 and these are both common routes to Nevada and rural Lassen county, CA. We drive through here several times a year and always comment that we need to stop and check out the area. If JJ's keeps doing it right, they will have something pretty amazing. Based on the experience today, maybe they already have. There was a steady stream of people in and out while we were there. Our meals arrived in a timely fashion and looked delicious. We both really enjoyed our meals and noted this is a good stop for future trips.

It's the closest cafe to Lassen national park and also place that has WiFi in an otherwise no network town. They have really great service and the members are really nice and friendly. Due to covid-19 they only have outdoor patio seating. I ordered the Mediterranean scramble that had feta cheese, olives, basil pesto and scrambeo eggs. It was pretty good. I really recommend this place for a quick stop after a long day of hike and exploring of Lassen NP

There are displays about animals and the natural history of the park. There is even a small snack bar to buy food. Came during a busy afternoon and most of their food items were sold out for the day. So, come early or during the non-peak times if you want to have an actual selection of food to choose from. There's a small dining room are where you can sit and enjoy your meal. They also have soft serve ice cream which is pretty dang good and hits the spot during the summertime. They've got a good amount of souvenirs but not much of selection compared to other National Park gift shops. The service staff is nice and welcoming. I'd still be on the safe side and pack your own lunch, but check this place out to see if they have some hot food options available if you're not craving a cold lunch. Don't miss out on the soft serve ice cream either!

We would give zero stars if that was an option... We decided…read moreto stop for breakfast on our way to Quincy because we were here years ago and loved it. It's now called Christy's and today's experience was awful. We arrived a little after 10 and were seated out back right away and brought menus and water. Almost 30 minutes go by as we're watching the two servers serve, seat and take orders from people - everyone except us. Once our order was finally taken, we learn they're out of bacon and sausage which is an option for one of our meals (canadian bacon and chorizo were available but we don't like either so not an option for us). While that was a bummer, at least our order was taken. Another 20+ minutes go by, and there is now another table seated just near us and the woman who seated us is bringing them drinks and menus and takes their order within a few minutes of them being seated. We hear her telling them about the special which we weren't told about. As she was walking away from them, I asked her if our server was her or the man who eventually took our order and she told me "whoever is available" is our server. I'm not sure if the person in charge is aware of the poor customer service here but a couple of other tables were showing signs of frustration, too. After waiting for another 20'ish minutes and still no food, we let our servers (?) know we decided to leave and we had a picnic at the lake with stuff we brought. Very enjoyable - I highly recommend it. On our way out, I saw the server tell the kitchen we left and everyone looking surprised. A woman was looking at me so I asked if there was someone available to listen about why we're leaving and a different woman stepped forward and listened. She offered to make it right, we told her we'd already been here almost an hour with no food so it's too late for us, but we thanked her for listening and left. We don't come this way often and I don't think we'd try again now that it's a new owner. All that said, the patio is a lovely spot for a meal with a view.
