cozy, quaint restaurant with elk mounts and oregon trail cowboy theme servers were super sweet and patient and helped the stranger next to us who got locked out of his car. their elk burger had to be built ourselves; they offered condiments on the side their restaurant dressing was sweet and flavorful with the lettuce salad the battered cod was a bit soggy on the bottom, but we enjoyed the onion rings we like the the italian wedding soup of the day i appreciate their unlimited refills for the lemonade

I do believe that this was the real Mr & Mrs Claus!

Amazing. In an area where there is next to no other option they are doing it all very well! I used to stop by in the 70's-80's, when Lassen Ski Park was open, Went back for breakfast a couple years ago and dinner a week ago. Steak- seasoned well, tender, delicious. Same for grilled chicken. Others in our party loved the ribs, beans and fish and chips. Cocktails were great. Santa was even there during our visit for the littles. Service was excellent, friendly and easy. Atmosphere is Grandmas mountain kitchen. It was welcoming and perfect!

A family run establishment. Brandi always welcomes everyone with friendly hello. Diner feel inside with random knick knacks for sale. We stayed at the motel and ate there 3 times. First time - Sat dinner service was bit slow at (waited 45 min, only 1 man cooking in back). Lodge burger was ok - didn't get why burger was served with ciabatta bun and not a normal hamburger bun. Friend got child's size of spaghetti (adult serving would've easily fed two). Said meatballs were good but marinara sauce didn't taste good. :( 2nd time: Breakfast was much faster/better experience. Bacon egg scramble with country potatoes and English muffin was pretty filling for our day hike. 3rd time: Belgian waffle with strawberry compote was good. Unfortunately the pie was out. Brandi kindly let us tried a freshly made marionberry jam that was yummy.

Considering you're out in the forest in the middle of nowhere, this little restaurant is a pretty good place to stop. The rest rooms are around back, use if you really have to. We had breakfast here, but they serve all meals here from Breakfast to lunch of burgers and such to dinner with a rib eye steak or ribs on the menu. Price are reasonable, considering the shipping of the food to get it here. The service is very friendly and they're used to tourists. Home style cooking I'd call it. The food is tasty and reminds me of the simpler times, well, OK I've herd of those times, but I didn't live it! No fancy trendy food here, just the real deal.

They just don't make em like this anymore. A true family-run restaurant. Husband behind the grill. Wife and sister serving tables. Father next store running the General Store. Kids helping out. Smiles and personalities all around. Every single TV commercial you've ever seen about a restaurant tries to convince you they have just an ounce of what this place has in pure, natural abundance: Authenticity. Sitting in the middle of woods, surrounded by bears, wolves, coyotes and mountain lions, is this gem of a spot. And if you're lucky enough to be there on a Saturday night, they open the attached bar and all the locals come out for pool, shuffle board and to get schooled by one of the locals, who is a regional fooseball champion. He's amazing. Just like this spot!

The hamburger did not disappoint! I love the ciabatta bun. I had a side salad with mine. I would definitely come again. Service was good. Be sure and give them a try.

Let me start by saying that if you are a creature of comfort and Hilton is what sets the standard for you, this is not your kind of Motel. But if you wish to get away for a few days, stay in a comfortable, quiet, and hospitable place near one of the most beautiful National Parks then keep reading! I have stayed in this place three times over the last 5 years. While I admit that I was first taken aback by the lack of TV in the room, after the first night I quickly began to appreciate that very fact. Who wants to spend time staying in and watching TV when you can get a solid breakfast in the morning at the restaurant and hit any of the many hiking trails in the park. The place is family owned and over the course of my three visits I have met four generations of the family. The two adorable kids, their parents who work in the restaurant, their paternal grand parents who own the place, the maternal grandfather, and check this out, their maternal great great grandfather who is a WWII veteran of the Pacific Front. He is 90 years old, looks solid, still drives his own pickup truck. Very nice people. The restaurant is good and very affordable. The breakfasts are solid, and any dinner item we tried was good. I personally loved the burgers. They also run the store that has most everything you need while on a road trip.

Perfect for post-hiking burgers. Great service and it has an old timey feel. Their beer selection was excellent.

Plan on around 7:30, the crowds diminish, and the sunset is beautiful." He also said reservations are fine but not necessary. Cool, see you this evening. Returning to the B&B, I decided to research the restaurant. I found the website, and searched the menu and reservations. The website said closed, and no reservations available.I thought it odd that the information was in conflict, so I called. I received confirmation that the were open, and made a reservation. After arriving that evening, we were told we needed to wait awhile because the server was busy. We waited patiently for about twenty minutes to be seated. After finally being seated, we waited again to order. The place was very busy for a Wednesday evening. After all the waiting, I started to wonder it this would be worth it. Finally, the meals came. The food was very good as was the service. After the meal, the waitress coherced us into the cheesecake for desert. She said - if we liked - she could serve us on the patio. The sun was setting, and the weather was beautiful, so we took her up on it. What began as a question marked evolved into an exclamation mark. The cheesecake with blueberry compote was Devine. Was it worth the wait? Yes, for the cheesecake alone. If you are visiting the Mt. Lassen area, this place is a must. Barring the inaccuracies of the website, the experience was wonderful. I could rate the restaurant a four, for the error, but they get a six for the cheesecake, so five it is.

Not a lot in Burney, but this place in Fall River Mills looked promising and it was so good. It is a little restaurant and pub within the quaint Fall River Mills old style hotel. The restaurant itself is fairly small, but we were seated right away, and the decor was so quaint and cute with a beautiful stone fireplace. I had my eye on a fried chicken sandwich, and it was so amazing with coleslaw, fried jalapeños and chicken done just right. The garlic shoestring fries that came with it were cooked just right and delicious . My husband ordered a smash burger and fries, and he was very happy with his as well. Service was excellent. Our waters were always full. I also ordered a basil margarita which was delicious and at a good price. The price of our meals also I feel were very reasonable for the quality. The old style hotel looked so quaint along with the small town that I wished I had known ahead of time to book a room here instead of the room in Burney. Located in the Placer Heights Plaza, next to Starbucks. Same plaza as Holiday Market and CVS Pharmacy. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. The menu was a bit different than online. Our server came to take our order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed like he didn't want to be there. We decided on the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken sandwich and catfish po' boy. When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place. Nice ambiance though. I felt I was a bit underdressed lol
