Immediately upon reviewing my CBCT image she saw that the original dentist missed a canal. (Original one was done 20+ years ago, when the technology was not near advanced as it is today.) She explained this is more common than you would think because these canals are so tiny and can branch off. Root canals are often why people dread the dentist. I can honestly say that this was done with zero discomfort. She was able to remove the old material, locate and clean the extra canal and complete the procedure within an hour. I was seen by Dr. Meenal McNary D.D.S. she was great... very informative and walk you through everything that she will be doing for your teeth. I felt like I was in good hands. Being that this was first root canal ever. I had a Crack in my tooth and she was still able to safe the tooth instead of pulling it. Would highly recommend this Dr. The main reason I did not give all stars is. Be prepared for a sticker shock on what needs to get done. As this place is completely out of network with insurances. They do there best to work with insurance but more than 70% comes out of pocket. My tooth was in bad shape and seeing how I was reffered there. I felt like I could not go anywhere else. It turns out my bottom left wisdom tooth said it is time like Mariah Carey and created some of the worst constant pain I have ever felt in my entire life. No Advil could save me. They were in network with my dental insurance and had an emergency appointment slot that morning, which covered the x ray and the visit as a whole. Jessica at the front desk was great and helpful in getting me situated. The dental assistant, Lyric, was very helpful with getting all of my x rays. Afterward, I was taken to a room where Dr. Mittal told me that the pain would persist unless I got my wisdom teeth removed, which is not what I wanted to hear. She shared that by Thursday they would have their oral surgeon, Dr. Kelley, who comes in monthly to Hutto Smiles Dentistry to do wisdom teeth removals and other oral surgery. I was a little reluctant to do it so soon because two days felt fast, but after talking with my family we committed and got his last appointment at 1 pm on Thursday. Flash forward through two nights of even worse tooth pain and surgery day had arrived. We arrived 30 minutes before my appointment as requested to go through documents. I was seen around 1:20 and they got me settled in. By 1:30, the anesthesia kicked in, and the next thing I remember, I was in my dad's car getting a smoothie. Both Dr. Kelley and T, his assistant, were great and did what seems to be a good job, but honestly I do not know because I was knocked out, which is exactly what I wanted. I did not want to feel any of that. They did a good job getting me through the surgery and the whole process. They do seem a little behind schedule both times I went, but that feels pretty standard for dentists and doctors these days. It was not anything too extreme. Just do not expect to be in and out if you are in a rush. I have not been to a dentist in a long time, but I am considering returning to Hutto Smiles Dentistry in the future to get my teeth cleaned due to how well they handled everything. We were quickly in and out of the office, and my son walked away with a very positive first experience, even after having a filling and two extractions! It is equipped with televisions for the children to watch while having procedures done, and my son was even able to choose what he wanted to watch. This definitely helped ease his anxiety. Dr. Naik has a wonderful way of speaking with children to keep them calm, and I was so impressed with how well my son did in her care. Further, she made sure I was aware of everything that was going on with my son, devised a treatment plan, and made me feel very comfortable going forward with each procedure. In other words, they're going to refund exactly what the insurance is already covering, as if they're doing us a favor. The Dr. Did a decent job on our Daughters lounge tie except a small heat blister on her gum from the lazer. Which we didn't know until a few days later. We ended up having to place the claim ourselves. What good is there insurance coordinator if you are doing their job for them. Their insurance coordinator didn't even run our EOB before we came in to get the service done on our daughter's tounge. We honestly feel like they said anything. At that point if we are paying almost %80 of the bill we would have not gone there and found a place completely in network. Things are expensive as they are. Complete dissatisfied with the quality of customer service. Let's hope we even get the check they received from our insurance.

There are also other activities in the corner, like video games and coloring pages, great for kids. Ms. Diana, the dental hygienist, measured my blood pressure and took x-rays. She did a great job cleaning my teeth and it didn't hurt at all. You can choose your polish flavor - cherry or mint. There are two TVs in the examination room, one on the wall and one on the ceiling. I watched a movie on the ceiling TV to help distract me. Dr. Janice or Dr. Peter will do your examination after and check for cavities. They will let you know if any future treatments are needed and explain any concerns. The dental hygienist or front desk staff will help you schedule your next appointment. They are flexible and ask your preference for times or days of the week to match your availability. They also offer an in-house membership plan if you don't have dental insurance. Kids can get a goodie bag at the end with little toys or stickers along with oral care items. Everyone really put me at ease and the environment is clean. You are in good hands here!

I went to K Family Dentistry & felt very confident in their honesty, and assessment of my oral health. They went through my X-Rays right in front of me, on a large screen. They answered any questions I had about their (conservative) treatment plan. They didn't try to financially gouge me. I'm on a fixed income, so a realistic treatment plan is an absolute necessity for me. I'm finally getting my teeth cleaned for the first time in years! (You don't appreciate the small things, until you're unable to attain them). My Dental check up last year was a nightmare! I never got any treatment beyond X-Rays & an office visit. The Dental office I went to said I needed a $2200+ deep cleaning, de-scaling, & planing over multiple quadrants. They quoted me the price of a new car to fix my teeth. I couldn't finacially swing that, so I got no treatment at all. I want even offered the option of a basic cleaning. They also told me I had severe gum disease. Fearing hearing the same (or worse) this year, I dragged my feet on going to a new dentist. So sad, because I could've actuality used my benefits to enjoy 2 cleanings & fix my teeth at a more convenient pace! Now I'm scrambling to squeeze 2 fillings, a cleaning & a wisdom tooth extraction in during the Holidays...before my current Dental Plan goes away. Lesson learned. Not all dentists are the same! Some care, are honest, & want to see you get the treatment you need. I'm hoping I can find insurance in the Marketplace for 2023 that allows me to continue with Dr. Janice at K Family Dentistry. BTW- The office is modern, & impeccably clean. Every person I encountered was courteous & extremely professional. I highly recommend that you give K Family Dental a chance!
