The air conditioner fan didn't work so had to get that fixed right away. Radio volume goes haywire gets really loud on its own. Hood light only works half the time. The cable ready connections are dead have to run cord through the windows! The front where bedroom and mattress are leaks like crazy!! And by the looks of the wood has been for some time! Causing the front to fall apart, the trailer fell on the frame cause woods rotten behind the skin of the front of the trailer! His business partner JC was called to help us and said he was backlogged so get us when he could. Wanted 500 bucks to flash coat the top of the rv. Which was an insult paid 10,000 dollars from my sister in law Buyer beware you won't get any discounts or any kind of money back from this scammer! Called him trying to resolve the issue and hung up on me like a b...ch! Being on disability I can't fix anything! And he knew this. Still ripped us off anyway!!! When the truck arrived, I was in for a surprise: the paint on the roof and hood was damaged, and there were oil leaks from the oil pan and transfer case. Furthermore, the truck had no brakes--I had to install new brake pads and a rear brake master cylinder. The catalytic converter was clogged and making a loud noise due to loose ceramic material inside (I have receipts to prove this). The man I spoke with never mentioned any of this--which is obviously crucial information, especially when buying from out of state. He also promised to send the full maintenance records, the owner's manuals shown in a photo, and the headrests, but he never sent them. I spoke to the owner, and she simply told me that the guy who cleans the cars had thrown them in the trash. They stopped answering me until I threatened to leave a bad review. Be careful--never buy from this dealership remotely.

We found our 2017 Grand Design Solitude 321RL on a Craigslist ad which was linked to the Tom's Travel Homes website. After calling ahead to ensure the unit was still available, we drove down to Salem on a Saturday and met up with Drew for a tour. He was kind and honest. The unit was clean and in great condition. We asked for the bottom dollar, was given a price without haggling, he drew (pun intended) up the paperwork, took our deposit, and we made an appointment to pick up the unit on Tuesday. When we arrive on Tuesday for the walkthrough, Pat took us through the RV to show us how everything works and helped us with our first hitch up (our first fifth wheel). The process was easy and stress-free which we appreciate greatly. Both Drew and Pat seemed to have worked there for years which speaks highly of the company. This unit was on consignment at Tom's and should we need to sell this unit to upgrade in the future, we will contact Tom's to sell it for us. They did a great job.

March 1st, We went to Salem to test drive a motor home that we saw on CL and purchased that day…read more The dealer (gave us a bogus name upon introduction) would not let us test drive it as he said it was uninsured and drove it himself. It seemed to drive fine but we were unable to see what worked and what did not as the batteries were dead. He said he put new tires, brakes, battery etc which we later learned were all lies. Upon paying cash $21,000, we got no more than 5 blocks away when it died. It was discovered that the gas gauge did not work and the tank was empty. So we finally got some gas in it and headed down the road home. After replacing the battery which was completely missing, the inspection showed that the generator needed a new carburetor, the interior lights were missing bulbs (all of them), the awning was completely torn and needed replacing and the refrigerator did not work at all. $5000 later and still no title. Salem rv did not obtain a clear title as the estate was in probate, it took 2 years to get a title with no help from the dealer as I had to do all the leg work finding the heirs from Texas to South Carolina to here in Oregon. Liars and thieves abound, especially these young latino couple that lied about this rv. Beware.

We bought a travel trailer and when the water system was checked when we brought it home, we found that the water heater was freeze damaged. An exact replacement, if available, was $2,195.00. Salem RV Sales would not make any adjustment on the purchase price. I was able to remove the water heater for repair at a cost of $125.00 Salem RV Sales would not even reimburse me for this repair cost and at this point stopped all communication with me. Be aware Be very aware This review system requires a star rating to continue submittal so I gave it a one star review. If possible I would give it a zero star rating.

After about the third email I finally got a call back. To make a long story short, corporate is telling their staff here in Salem of a 25% restocking fee and a form I have to fill out. For that I'll just keep the stupid lock and use it for a fishing sinker the next time I go after Halibut. Again, I paid CASH. I fail to see the reason for a restocking fee for an item still in the original packaging.

I reached out to Power RV, because they were somewhat local, they appeared to be a smaller…read moredealership, and being a small business owner myself, I always try to support smaller, local businesses. I went to Power RV about July 5th, 2025. I met with Kelley and was able to test drive the 2025 Coachmen Crosstrail 20XG motor home. I had been researching these for quite a while, and the drive did not disappoint. Over the next couple weeks, I negotiated a fair price through Kelley, who was running negotiations through David, the owner. After agreeing on price, Juan, the finance manager, reached out to collect a $3,000 deposit. I told Kelley from the beginning that I was going to have a third-party pre-purchase inspection, and had my own financing. I did send Kelley all of the preapproval information on August 6th. Kelley thanked me for the information and said that's exactly what they would need. When the inspector arrived, they had an extension cord plugged into the RV, and the propane tank was not full. They did have a hose available. The inspector called me during the inspection to inform me that the RV had a "hot skin condition, " meaning there was voltage on the outside of the RV. He was able to have the motorhome moved to a different area of the dealership where he could get a 30 amp connection. Once it was plugged into a 30 amp connection and not an extension cord, the original issue with the hot skin condition cleared. They also eventually filled up the propane tank. There were several items on the inspection report such as an electrical outlet wired wrong, a couple of the outside doors would not lock, there was a fair amount of rust on the driveshaft and rear differential, and a couple of loose/missing trim pieces inside the motorhome. They agreed to correct the items, except for the undercarriage rust that was mentioned. The comment that I got was "all vehicles have rust." Even with that, I was prepared to move forward, because for a few hundred dollars, I could have the rust removed. They needed a few more days to get those issues corrected, so the date agreed upon to go down and finalize things was August 12th. Friends drove me down to the dealership on August 12th. I met with Kelley, who took me in to meet with Juan, the finance manager. I sat down to review and handed him the cashiers check for the down payment. Juan appeared confused. It appeared he was expecting a check for the full amount. I told him I had pre-approved financing, and I had provided all the information to their dealership the week before. Juan said he would need to talk with the owner. I left the finance manager's office and returned to the motor home to wait. We had arrived at the dealership around 11:30 and around 3:30 or so, they still did not have things figured out. Kelley told me that they would deliver the RV to my home once they had everything resolved. My friends and I left the dealership. After thinking about things, I canceled the deal. If it is this difficult to purchase a motor home, I cannot imagine what any service needs would be like. I had to request my $3,000 deposit back on three separate days before I received it. Here's my take. They do not like it when you come in with your own pre-approved financing. They had all the pre-approval financing information for six days, and they told me to come down to pick up the motor home on August 12th. I don't know whether the lack of working with my finance company was deliberate or an accident, but in any case, it caused me a lot of wasted time. Seems to be an important question as they are the ones who told me to come down on August 12 to pick up the motor home. While waiting in the motor home on August 12, Kelley would check in periodically with me. I feel bad for the position she was put in. I feel like the owner really dropped the ball on this. Let's be clear, I was not buying a set of bath towels. This was a $135,000 motor home. Although nobody was rude per se', ownership doesn't seem to care. Very disappointed. I do not recommend this dealership.

My wife and I purchased a Forest River 226RBDS from Highway Trailer Sales in Salem Oregon in 2016. Randy,our salesman, did a great job. The service department did a great job on a small warranty item. Then Jasmine in the warranty department knocked it out of the park. The trailer was less than 2 years old and we noticed fading on the front cap. We talked to Jasmine and she said Forest River was willing to pay $1000 of the approximately $2500 expense to have the cap repainted. She didn't think that was right so she stepped up and insisted FR cover the entire cost. FR gave in and agreed to repaint the front cap. Jasmine had Fleming's Body and Paint in Salem do the work and we were very impressed with them as well. The trailer looks like new and we have Jasmine, Highway Trailer Sales, and Fleming's to thank for that. My refrigerator quit working in my motorhome and spoiled a lot of my food. Made camping very difficult that weekend. I used ice chest rest of the weekend and when I returned I immediately called Highway Trailer. They told me to bring it in next day. They called me two hours later and told me it wasn't the refrigerator but rather the inverter/charger. I knew no different so I said go ahead. They quoted me a price and I figured they had me since they are just about the only show in town. The next day it was finished so I went to pick it up. The cost was exactly what they quoted me! It has been two weeks and the refrigerator still works great and batteries are all charged full. I leave it plugged in all the time so the refrigerator can stay cool. Try these folks out if you need to. The staff are very friendly and helpful. read more

The Highway Trailer service department saved our Fourth of July camping trip. My 12 VDC master disconnect switch broke a week before our trip. I took my camper over to HTS expecting to set up an appointment for a month or two out. Chris the service manager checked with her crew to see if they could get me in the same day. She came back and told me that she had a tech free and he could get started immediately. I was blown away as I was expecting to camp without power. Less than an hour later, I was driving out and heading home. Kudos to Chris and her team and their excellent customer service to make me a "happy camper". We will be able to go on our camping trip as planned thanks to Chris and the HTS service department. read more

They walked us through the whole process and even taught us how to use all the features on our new trailer. Jonathan Mayorga, Robert Anderson, and all the technicians paid attention to my unique/personal situation in dealing with insurance, my health issues and even getting back home. Master technician Dave then puts his great skills to work, repairs and resolves the problem, and we're back on the road. We have found them to be super helpful, extremely proficient, efficient, and fair priced. In the past, we've had expensive, rather poor service at some other Portland area locations. Both of these were somewhat emergency needs as in the first case I was putting the trailer away for the season and heading back to Hawaii and in the second case I needed to get my refrigerator working before we left for our camping trip. We came from Redding CA, a six hour drive for us to Salem to buy a trailer that was advertised as…read more"like new", "immaculate" and when we got there, not only was the trailer not clean: shower and sinks dirty, pee (yes, pee) in the toilet, nothing had been cleaned, but there was wear to the upholstered dinette area seating and the back of the seat was so sun damaged, that it was cracked severely! The stove burners showed moderate use and cupboards still had stuff in them. This trailer had received zero attention from this seller on this inside! I was expecting the condition would be as advertised, as this is the picture he painted. Either he openly lied about the condition, or he did not know the actual condition. Either way, it was way beyond disappointing, and I was fuming! I tried my best to be professional and just tell him what I saw without spewing, and he did drop the price for us, but this did not make me see him as a reputable seller. You cannot change first impressions, and ours was and still is, not good. Would not buy from him again or recommend him.
