One of their employees came out to assist and discovered that the ones we purchased were the wrong size. After a quick refund/replacement he helped finish the task at hand and she was legally on the road. Grateful to have been able to find this out at the store instead of at home, requiring another trip! The pros: - 10% Military Discount (you have to ask) - Free diagnostic checks - Assistance with minor installations (wiper blades, bulbs, license plate frame) - Tools for use - AutoZone Rewards (earn savings with purchases) The cons: - Always busy - You have to ask for help - Military status isn't in my profile While I don't ever look forward to shopping here, when I do, the pros outweigh the cons. Keep some cash on hand to tip in appreciation of the extra services provided (regardless of whether it's free)!

I can't say enough about the incredible help I received from Nicholas Burns at AutoZone in Oregon…read moreCity (Store #1689). I was about 40 miles from home when my truck suddenly shut down while driving on I-5. Thankfully, I managed to get over to the shoulder safely. The truck would crank weakly but wouldn't turn over. I suspected the battery or alternator had gone bad. Before I did anything else, I contacted my roadside assistance provider--only to find out that my account had been accidentally canceled due to an expired card. They told me it would take 72 hours to reactivate, so I was stranded with no backup and 40 miles from home. Towing was going to be way too expensive, and I had very few options. That's when I called the Oregon City AutoZone. I spoke with Nicholas, who quickly found the correct battery for my vehicle. I told him where I was and asked--half expecting a no--if there was any chance he could bring it to me. At first, he was understandably unsure, but he said "hold on a second," and put me on hold. When he came back, he said, "I'll bring it to you." I was blown away. Within 20 minutes, Nicholas showed up on the side of I-5, not only with the battery but he installed it for me as well--completely unexpected and incredibly generous. Once the battery was in, I was able to start the truck and drive to the store. Nicholas was heading out for lunch, so Fernando stepped in and tested my alternator, which turned out to be fine. But when I tried to start the truck again, I had the same issue--a weak crank and no start--and then we both caught a whiff of burnt electrical smell. At that point, the starter was the likely culprit. I went back inside and bought a new starter, and the team loaned me every tool I needed to replace it right there in the parking lot. It didn't take long, and when I finished, the truck fired right up and ran perfectly. What could have been an expensive, frustrating, and exhausting day turned out to be manageable, thanks to the above-and-beyond service from Nicholas, Fernando, and the rest of the AutoZone crew. I was in a tough spot with no help and very few options--and these guys stepped up when they didn't have to. Thank you, Nicholas and AutoZone Store #1689--you've earned a customer for life.

For…read moresome reason I thought it would cost me another body part, and I'd already sold my kidney in trade for new brake pads, rotors, and calipers. I'd been unlocking my car manually for months, then he whipped out his tiny screwdriver and opened my fob to reveal a small battery. It was after hours on a Friday, and unfortunately he didn't have any of the size I needed in stock, but suggested I try a local parts store. Advanced Auto has always been my go to for auto parts as you can order online, track your purchases, earn discounts and the like. This location wasn't too far, just confusing to get to with a very long median that forced me to pass it and circle back around. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted and asked what I needed help with. Knowing the battery number made for a quick and simple transaction. There are tables set up in front of the counter to allow for safe distancing, and they moved the card reader back too. Before leaving I inquired about the sign on the door that said UPS Access Point. He replied that they receive packages if an attempt is made to deliver and they leave a note on your door. I ship quite a few packages myself and find the lines to be rather long at the stores, especially if you're just trying to drop off, so I asked if they also accept packages for pick-up. They do, in fact, also accept boxes which a driver picks up daily by 5:00 p.m. All in all, my trip was outstanding, leaving me with useful knowledge, and now, the ability to open my car doors and trunk with a press of a button again! Side note, if you don't have a good tiny phillips head screwdriver, its worth the investment or a great gift idea. I'm pretty proud that I did it myself for less than $10.

(I'm such a girl) I hadn't driven it for a few days, and the next time I tried to start it, it was completely dead. I jump started it and stopped at the gas station to fill up. When I rolled my windows down, I discovered that they would not roll back up! Certain I was having some alternator or electrical issues, and figuring it was going to be very expensive to fix, I headed over to Advance where I met the nicest guy named "Lance" Lance quickly came out to my car and checked everything. Alternator, Battery, starter...etc. Turns out, my car just needed to be re-booted and ran for a few minutes. Lance even looked up how to reboot the windows after a battery replacement, then he sent me on my after re-filling my wiper fluid and it didn't cost me any more money. Lance is a super nice guy and very helpful to a woman who was feeling extremely vulnerable. THANK YOU LANCE! YOU are a SUPERSTAR!!!
