I was also feeling like my vet in Reno was putting greed first and animal care second with the way they were nickel and diming my every visit. The prices and care my pets receive at Fallon Vet Clinic is far superior to my last vet so I'm very happy with the switch. My smaller pup is on 3 different medications and Dr. Storms staff have been very accommodating when I call to request refills. I try to be respectful of their 48 hour refill time period but a few times I've been in a pinch and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate my situation which I'm very thankful for. One time I had an emergency situation when my bigger dog ate a weeks worth of my smaller dogs meds when we were out of town. I called the clinic and they sprung in to action to help me make sure my bigger dog didn't get sick and then sent a refill for the meds to the nearest pharmacy where I was. They turned a stressful situation in to a manageable one. My smaller pup is nearing 10 years old and had a couple of cracked teeth and needed a dental cleaning. Dr. Storm quoted me a price for the procedure and I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up to pay the bill that it was less than my quote. Their ethics and integrity are valuable to me and I'm happy to recommend this vet!

As always, we wait 20-45min past our appointment time. Yesterday, our appt for a simple booster shot was at 10:15am, we had to wait until 10:50am before our Newfie puppy was taken back for her bortedella booster, so she could go to the groomer. Finally, nearly late for our grooming appt at 11:15am, as we stood at the counter to pay out bill, of course Monica was slow and behind as always, had us wait to "find" our pets file so we could pay, and leave, in that time, an owner who had two pitbulls on flimsy leashes, attacked our puppy fom behind, she was stuck in a room that was overcrowded, with dogs, and with nowhere to go, and that pitbull having its jaws on her, I went down, injuring myself ,while the office staff, simply watched and did nothing. (I later, having just had a total hip replacement, and sustaining injuries to my legs from the pitbull trampling me to get to my dog who I had freed in the process, the second time, it got her ear and she was screaming, my husband was able to pry the pitbulls jaws open to release our scared, tramatized puppy. Finally, we left that death trap of an office. Today, we called asking for anti inflammatory and antibiotics for the puppy, we were denied and told we had to bring her back. After the attack, let me add, I was handed a dirty bucket with used pads full of betadine and told to "take care of my self"(my cuts and gashes) while they swabbed my puppy. She was given no medication and I of course, didn't think of that, all I could think was that my puppy was almost killed in the vets overcrowded office. So today, calling for the medication for the pup (I already went to the ER), they denied her medicine and said to bring her back. I am not going to tramatize her further, photos were taken, injuries quickly scanned by the staff and all of this could have been prevented had they been on time, and not overbooked. Now, my puppy is left suffering and in pain, the other option is to bring her back to the place of her attack. Yes, I filed a report with animal control. But this clinic seems to not care for the well being of anyone but their own pockets. This is not the only instance of their negligence, but the most severe. After, the same puppy was fixed (spayed) there, we did not recieve any follow up calls to check on her, as I have with other veterinarians, for my cats. When I called to ask questions about after care, I was rudely told, it was on the sheet,( the only thing we recieved was 5pills with manufacturer instructions and a reciept for more than $500 to spay a Newfie pup). When I asked about the stitches I was told they would dissolve, they did not, and a few days ago I noticed on her belly, something plastic and threadlike, at the appt yesterday, sure enough, it was the stitches from her spaying 5 months prior. This is a very insensitive and negligent clinic who overbooks to line their greedy pockets. Please save yourself the trauma and do not risk your pets life to these uncaring, uncompassionate people. Tomorrow, I am suppoosed to leave for my honeymoon and they have ruined what should be the happiest time of my life. As a final kick in the teeth, they deny any concern for the puppy's health, claiming it was an accident. They have a duty to ensure the safety of all people and pets on their premises. My poor dog is left in pain and traumatized from the attack in a place she is supposed to be safe and cared for. Please do not endanger your animal or yourself, as I did. I am still recovering from cuts and bruises and the phycological damage of seeing my beloved puppy attacked from behind will never leave me. I am scarred for life from seeing my puppy nearly killed, and my honeymoon is ruined, as I am worried about my puppy, and will be the whole time.

I really hate going to the vet, my dog is extremely temperamental. He's usually terrified of people and won't stop barking. It's normally a really stressful process all around. He was vocal at first, but he let them approach him. We went in for a couple of things. The Dr asked us to come back in a week just to check in. When we came back one of the problems may need surgery. She discussed financial aid options. She wants to make sure there's nothing else that we can do before we go to surgery. They've been nothing but amazing. They do genuinely care about the animals and the people that come in. They always have the best interest in mind and want what's best for everyone involved. They want to make this community the best they can and they do truly make a difference. All the people are so kind and amazing. Overall this place makes such a good difference in the world!

I was told since they have not since my pet since February they would have to do an exam which would cost $88, then to put him down it was going to cost $110 plus an additional $160 for a little paw imprint (which i stated i couldnt afford or need due to the emergency) i was then told since the Exotic pet vet not being in my suffering pet would have to wait til next week and I could make an appointment but would have to pay the $88 up front. The girl was not compassionate at all and all the fees and money they want ans unnecessary exam when I already knew the diagnosis I felt was just money gouging. I found another vet thankfully who was able to help for much less and took much better care and were so compassionate about the situation and i had been to before. Im sad this vet turned out this way because I did like Dr Brown. But the multiple different costs is disheartening for someone who's pet is in pain and needing services for a fatal condition urgently.

I don't blame a facility because they couldn't save/fix my pet nor do I praise them for just doing what they were trained for. I'll just say I don't think they made any mistakes in diagnosing/treating my pet and I was satisified with service overall. Place is clean and conveniently located right off 395 in Central-South Reno. Our cat was immediately taken back for observation. The place wasn't crowded when we were there maybe only 1 or 2 other customers. Doctor consultation about 10 minutes later. Doctor listened carefully and made clear understandable explanations. Next they send someone in with the estimated bill (it's a range) and ask to take a deposit. It's not really a deposit in the traditional sense. It is more like a prepayment. An example might be your cost is estimated at $1,500-$2000. The "deposit" is the lower end of the total estimated cost $1500. That makes sense. If your pet ends up needing to be euthanised, there's a risk the owner isn't going to pay the balance for a pet they don't have anymore. They do tell you if you call on the phone, the emergency exam fee is $195. But I suspect in most cases that will be a drop in the bucket of your total cost depending on what you are dealing with. I had been chatting with ChatGPT providing all the details of the symptoms I was observing with my pet. When she handed me the projected bill, I took a photo of it and fed it to ChatGPT and asked if any of the multitude of tests were really that necessary. There were 4 line items that ChatGPT identified were of questionable value given the details of the cats symptoms. I crossed them out, and the doctor returned and we ended up agreeing to remove two and keep the other two. I'm not going to blindly follow ChatGPT on these types of decisions but in this case it provided a valueable second opinion to bounce off the doctor for further discussion. Saved us $700. The doctor in any clinic, emergency or not, is usually going to present you with all tests/treatment options that might be relevant to diagnosing/treating your pet. It's up to the pet owner to decide whether they want a deeper understanding of each cost and how necessary/beneficial it is at that stage of the care and any risks or downside of opting out of a particular test/treatment. Anyone who has gone to an emergency room (for people) knows, it is astronomically expensive. Animal ERs are no different except most are likely paying the full bill without pet insurance. You are paying a very high premium for quick evaluation, test results, and if necessary 24/7 monitored care. You can easily get into the low to mid 4 figures in most cases. We received phone calls 4 times over a 24-hr period on the status of our pet which was nice, but sort of the minimum you would expect when a 24/7 monitored hospital stay is $880 a day ($37/hr.) My only criticism of this facility is many of the tests are the same ones I can get at my normal vet and also get results back in the same timeframe. When I compared to a previous vet bill those same tests are considerably more expensive here. This is not to say some tests/procedures done here are either not available at a standard vet clinic or done a lot faster. But the ones I could compare apples to apples, this place was a lot more expensive, for what practical reason? And because of that, I can't in good conscious round a 4.5 up to 5 in this case. One might argue prices are likely comparable to other 24-hr emergency care clinics realizing if your pet is critically ill, it's not really feasible in most (not all) cases to say "I'll get those tests done later at my regular Vet." You're desperate to help your pet. The service overall was good with a mostly expected large sting in the pocketbook. But if you aren't experiencing a life threatening emergency and can get your pet into a regular vet soon enough, it is likely considerably cheaper than this place.

I had an emergency with my golden retriever Oliver. He vomited and collapsed. No previous signs of…read moredistress. It was early in the morning. I called ahead of time to let them know I would be there in less than twenty minutes. I got there and they came out and lifted Oliver out of my vehicle they immediately took him back and checked him out. They returned quickly and said it's life threatening. They determined that Oliver had HemaSarcoma of the spleen and heart and the tumors ruptured causing internal bleeding. They suggested euthanasia. We sadly determined the situation and agreed. Throughout the entire process everyone was so professional, loving, supportive of our baby. Yes, the bill quickly added up to 1,200 . I'm just grateful that they were there for him and we got to lovingly say goodbye. Definitely recommend this place if your fur baby has an emergency.
