After doing a price & product comparison of several area custom window treatment companies, I chose Hill Country on the basis of product and price. I also liked the idea that I was dealing with the owner of the company (family-owned) and not just a sales rep. She was honest in her recommendations, because she could have sold me the much more expensive product I asked about instead of the one she recommended instead, which has performed very well throughout my house for the past nine years! When I called recently to see if they did repairs for two minor open & close glitches, they said sure. They offered to have me bring in the blinds or to come out for a reasonable service call fee; being skittish about pulling down heavy wooden blinds, I chose the latter, and they set up an appointment. The owner herself showed up with her son, right on time, and they fixed the blinds with no problem. They even threw in a couple of pieces of hardware to anchor my back door blind for no extra charge. I would use this company again and recommend them without hesitation. I imagine a bigger company with higher overhead would have trouble beating their price, and maybe their personalized customer service as well. read more

The owner of this company is extremely rude and petty. I would not recommend this business to anyone of my friends. They took months to get my blinds in. Then they were broken and they had to come back 4 times bc they didn't have the tools with them to fix them. Small one man operation. Do not hire them for your commercial property. They can't handle anything other than a residence. Even then they take forever bc everyone refuses to work with them so the only employee is the owners son. One star. Pew. read more

We purchased a home a few years ago that did not have all the valences. We also wanted to put in a arc blind on the bay window in our living room to block sunlight during the evening and summer. It was glaring on our TV and into the kitchen. Bobby did an impeccable job installing the arc. His attention to detail was appreciated as did worked diligently to ensure arc was centered and we were happy with the final product. Bobby was very articulate to explain processes and how it worked. Wanted to have a good review so badly. They came highly recommended and were very sweet whenever I actually talked to anyone. However, it took 3 tries over the course of 5 weeks to get our simple shades measured, ordered, and installed correctly. And even upon completion, I'm still not totally happy. Everything was improperly measured, fitted, and installed. And if we hadn't pointed it out, they would have left oddly fitting shades on my windows. One didn't even roll up all the way and until we tested it, he was going to leave it knowing this. After the 2nd attempt to correct the issue, no one even contacted me to talk it through or apologize. Blame was constantly made instead of accountability taken. I now have holes in my window frames from all the attempts that will need to be filled and painted. I would not go with this company if I had a do over, unfortunately. I am out a few thousand dollars and it was not worth it. Could've probably done better on our own. Very unfortunate. read more
