They were very flexible and patient when it came to hearing out design ideas and also incorporating changes along the way. They had a great attention to detail. For example they installed under ground pipes to account for the grade and possible drainage issues we would have had if they had just come in and dropped in the concrete. They also took in to account future irrigation and lighting installs and made the appropriate design mods to allow of access. Alex was very responsive throughout the planning and execution process, and even oversaw the entire installation. His crew were dedicated and skilled workers who were very kind. Scope of the project included covering an existing concrete slab. Alex made sure to add 3-4 inch rebar dowels every 24 inches and wire mesh to give the new layer something finer to hold on to, in addition to the binding agent for a more firm fusion. We also paid extra for the 3,500 PSI rated concrete given the Texas heat. Further, he extended the sides of our driveway, replacing the paver stone and gravel with level concrete. This also included fixing part of the walkway that had been pushed up by Live Oak roots, which was a tripping hazard, and now forming a smooth transition. Alex was also great when it came to pricing. He was very transparent, and me not being a concrete guy, asked a good friend who's been a general contractor for 30+ years to review the proposal and methods, and follow the work, all of which he said was done expertly. After a substantial amount of time, Macario showed up to pick up his equipment. I confronted him about why the job wasn't finished. He informed me that the general contractor wasn't paying him. I offered to pay him, so he finished the job the next day. 2nd job: Same exact thing as the first job. I wasn't sure who to fault, me or him, for using the general contractor. Macario does great work and is inexpensive. He put in a drain when he poured one of my concrete pads near the hot tub that works great! I would suggest contacting him directly. I had earlier…read moreindicated that the roots from the shrub removal were still visible and was informed that the root balls had been extracted and that this was sufficient. While I was setting up Christmas decorations, I observed that one of the bushes has begun to regrow, which seems to be regarded as a miracle since the root ball was supposedly removed! Additionally, I noticed that a considerable portion of the newly installed concrete slab is distinctly discolored due to inconsistent or improper mixing. Unfortunately it seems I will have to resolve this through our court system.
