The staff was very knowledgeable in answering all my questions as this was my dogs fist time for both daycare and blading. My dog had an amazing stay with plenty of playtime and treats, and they even took some cute photos during his stay. We've always opted to have somebody come to the house and stay with our dogs in the past, we just didn't want to upset their routines. This place has been awesome with Charlie. He suffers from separation anxiety having been passed around to 3 different families in 4 month's so leaving him home alone isn't an option. Took my dog for a 3 day stay at the last minute... Unfortunately, other kennels are now requiring extra vaccinations that my dog doesn't have, nor will he be getting. I didn't have time to pre visit, I had a place to catch. So I took my chances. I suppose it's better than Petsmart? But set up similarly, except the kennels are inside/outside combo. He wasn't greeted, showed no welcoming. My dog sniffed around and was ready to go!. But I had to leave him. Picked him up - the groomer checked me out, showed no signs of any compassion for dogs. I asked to get my dog, she didn't like it apparently. And demanded I show form of payment before she let him in from the back. Weird. He was given a bath, but not brushed or dried. Maybe he was just hosed down, I have no idea. He stunk and had clumps of hair chunked up and loose. It took me 15.00 to vacuum my car after that ride home. He was NOT happy, ready to go and gave attitude for days after we picked him up. Overall the entire experience sucked. read more

I've taken my two large dogs (+100 lbs) here for about 5 years whenever I travel (long weekends and up to 2 weeks). The staff is always great and happily greets them so that leaving is never an issue. My dogs are a bit temperamental and wary of strangers but have had no problems at all, in fact they enjoy getting there and jump right out to get checked in. I've boarded my dog and cats here many times but the last time I booked with them I was cancelled at the last minute because my dog, they claimed, was not up to date on her vaccines. Specifically she hasn't had a distemper vaccine in a couple of years ... BECAUSE NO VET GIVES THAT VACCINE TO 10 YEAR OLD DOGS! YOU CAN'T GET IT! I got a signed explanation from my vet and even arranged a call with them. But she would not even look at it. Applying this rule with no nuance means they effectively will not board dogs over 10 years old. As I say, I have kept my now 13 year old dog there previously and it was no issue, but I think they hired a new person who isn't familiar with standard vet protocols and she refused to let me talk to the owners. Since it was last minute, I had a very difficult time getting another kennel. I was very disappointed with HCPR since they have been great in the past. But if they don't want my old dog, I won't use them again. read more

Hill Country Pet Resort is a GEM in Dripping Springs, and our go-to place for boarding our two labradoodles in the future. We recently moved to the area and needed care for the dogs while we travelled for Thanksgiving. The staff was friendly, quick to communicate, and made everything SO EASY. I have used Hill Country Pet Resort several times to board my goldendoodle. We've never had an issue until this last visit. I picked up my dog this morning after being gone for 8 days. She was jumping all over me when I arrived and it wasn't until I stepped away from her that I realized I had poop all over my hands and pants. Apparently they have a chicken problem in that chickens jump into the play area at night and poop and my dog rolled in it?? Her neck and ears were covered in poop. After I requested they bathe her, I went back to get her a few hours later and was able to talk to the manager about the issue. She didn't seem too phased by it and certainly didn't apologize. "All dogs love to roll in poop." Secondly, when I got home and got her stuff unpacked, I noticed that there were 3 individual baggies of food leftover. They request you separate the dog's food into individual servings and label each day, which I did. She came home with Wednesday AM, Wednesday PM and Sunday PM bags full of food. When I called to ask if she had been fed those days, I couldn't get a straight answer. We will not be returning. read more

We left our happy and healthy dog here for ten days and she came out of this place severely underweight with bones protruding. It's incredibly hard to believe what we've been told that she was fed and ate per our instructions because she looks like a dog that has been starved. Despite the refund we received after speaking with them, it's not a matter of money. Our already lean dog (a german shorthaired pointer) lost 12 pounds in 10 days--you can count her ribs from a distance--and still no one noticed and no one contacted us or our 3 emergency contacts. We are devastated and would never, ever leave her there again. read more

Wonderful place, personal attention for your pets. This rating is long over due. I have used this place for years and they are great. My dog gets tons of individual attention when left for day care. We have also used them for boarding our dog over night and more recently our kitten. I don't tend to board cats but this rescue kitten was full of energy and curiosity. She almost hung herself twice on our dining chair (which was then removed) so there was no way we'd leave her unsupervised while going out of town. She got extra play time and attention she wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. If boarded at a vets office or other kennels, the cats will be in their crate the entire time. I have worked at 2 vet offices. The rates here are very reasonable and they take the extra step. read more
