Didn't notice anything amiss until I went into the spare bedroom, flicked on the light, and saw yellow. I looked at the light fixture, and it was full of water!!! There were water stains going all the way across the bedroom, even outlining the A/C register. Never having dealt with such, I started to panic. I telephoned my insurance carrier first to get guidance. After speaking with them (and answering a million + one questions) I started contacting roofing companies. Yelp was my first step. I wrote down the name of 3 companies and started phoning. APEX Roofing in Georgetown was my first call. They came out the next day and went on the roof and also in the attic. They took pictures so I could see. The culprit was a solar panel component that was no longer sealed, thus my roof leaked, dripped onto the ceiling's drywall, and into the light fixture. The 2nd company came out same day but did not go on the roof, nor did they enter my attic. They strictly relied on pictures from a drone. (I wasn't impressed with the lack of hands-on). The 3rd company, well, I didn't give them a chance. I cancelled because of the professionalism and hands-on inspection received from APEX Roofing. They were present when the insurance adjuster made a full inspection. After receiving word from insurance to proceed with repairs, I signed on with APEX. APEX took on the role of contractor & sub-contractor. They arranged for the solar panel company to remove the panels so a new roof could be installed (higher quality architectural shingles providing me with an insurance discount). An Attic Breeze solar attic ventilator was also installed. (Come on Summer 2024!! I'm ready!!) APEX arranged for the bedroom ceiling to be restored and painted to pre-damage specs. APEX arranged for the fenced backyard to be pressure-washed to remove all signs of hail strikes and re-stained. Gutters spouts were replaced. Then APEX scheduled the re-install of the solar panels (with the company I purchased the panels from). All work was done per insurance claim/quote and then-some. You can't place a price on professionalism, quality-of-work, positive attitude, and smiles. I highly recommend APEX Roofing in Georgetown. Despite the many 5 star reviews, we had a pretty awful experience working with JP Exteriors. It…read morestarted when we accepted a bid to replace our entire house with Andersen 100 windows. We signed the contract and put a deposit for half the entire amount. After we signed the contract and put in our half deposit, we were informed that 2 of our windows are arched and Andersen 100 doesn't make arched windows. They said we could replace our front of the house windows with Andersen 400 or Simonton. Simonton is supposedly a less expensive window than Andersen's 100 series. But, they quoted us a higher price to replace the front windows with Simonton than we were quoted for the same windows in Andersen 100. We ended up ordering Simonton Windows with grids for our entire house. We had already paid ($15,000) from our original contract and we were locked in with JP Exteriors. On window installation day, we noticed that there was one window at the front of the house missing a horizontal grid. They let us know that they could get us a "great price" to replace the window that we had already paid for with the proper grid. They also left several small projects unfinished including painting the trim around 2 windows, filling interiors holes around 3 windows, fixing an interior window sill that was damaged during window installation. Ultimately, the window that was missing a horizontal grid was replaced at no additional cost to us and the remaining unfinished items were all competed in a satisfactory manner. However the replaced window that was missing a horizontal grid has now been replaced and the vertical grids on the top window are not lined up with the vertical grids on the bottom windows (See photos below.) It looks terrible and is at the front of our house. We wanted to love JP Exteriors based on their 5 star reviews, but unfortunately, we have had a 1 star experience. Update: They have said that they will fix the window so that the grids line up. If this happens, that will be good.

This involved…read moreremoving all of the old cabinetry, counters, and flooring; demolishing a soffit to raise the ceiling; adding ~4 ft to an existing wall; repairing and painting all of the drywall; and installing new baseboards. Juan was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process! His bid was fair and competitively priced with other contractors. His communication was professional and always quick to inform and respond. Always on time. Always clear with expectations and flexible to adjust when surprises were uncovered during demo. I can't speak highly enough about Juan and his guys' care and attention to detail. Looking forward to working with him again in the future.

He hung new drywall, taped, mudded, and left it with a clean level 5 finish. He also demoed parts of the exterior, installed new sheathing, and put up a vapor barrier--all done properly. As a working contractor myself, I've dealt with plenty of subs. What stood out most with Juan was his follow-through. He stayed on top of things, communicated well, and saw the job through to the end. That kind of dependability is rare and appreciated.
