This place had good reviews, so first I called to see what the wait was like, then drove over. The person I spoke to on the phone was pleasant. When I arrived, they asked me to scan a QR code to check in, that was neat. Although I went in for just an emissions inspection, the person who checked me in saw that my state inspection was due soon and suggested getting that done as well which I agreed to. Then I sat in the waiting area in the back and worked a bit. I wish I'd taken a picture of the waiting area before others arrived because it was so cute! It was decorated with a beach theme and there were small couches and arm chairs and games to play. I think the emissions and safety inspection took about an hour or a little more. When they finished the person who checked me out was also pleasant and chatty. He was reviewing my vehicle and what services I needed and I commented that it was much less than what my dealer recommended. He was very professional and said that the dealer might be more conservative but he believes in only getting what's necessary. I appreciated his take, and especially that he didn't feel the need to talk negatively about a competitor. I will absolutely be back to get my car serviced. It was a pleasant experience with pleasant people!

I guess it's because my car is newer and they can't make money off state and emissions inspections unless cars are older usually. I called here before I went and they only had one car ahead of mine. When I showed up to the shop, there was someone working on another vehicle but was very friendly to me and asked me to wait while he looks at my car. I was dome in 30 minutes and was on my way! While waiting at the shop, I also overheard the mechanics conversation with a customer where they needed a costly car part replaced, and he even went ahead and called the manufacturer for the customer to see if there was still a warranty on the part. He also came up with other alternatives. A customer could use to pay for the expensive part. I've never seen a mechanic go this far for a customer before and it makes me want to come back in case there's ever issues with my car.

A few days ago, my 2017 Ford Edge started making a loud metal rattling noise. I had previously been told by another shop that my engine mounts needed to be replaced, so I assumed one of them had finally failed. I called my regular mechanic for an estimate, but never heard back, so I started calling other shops. After reading so many positive reviews about Sam's Auto Service, especially the ones mentioning Lopez and his honesty, I decided to give them a call. Lopez answered, gave me a fair ballpark estimate for replacing the engine mounts, explained the labor costs, and told me to bring it in. He even said that if it turned out to be the engine mounts, there was a good chance I'd have my vehicle back the same day. After inspecting my vehicle, he didn't try to sell me the repair I thought I needed. Instead, he called me and explained that my engine mounts were not the problem. The real issue was a cracked flywheel. That immediately told me I was dealing with an honest shop that diagnoses the actual problem instead of replacing parts that don't need to be replaced. Lopez sent me photos showing the cracked flywheel while it was still installed in my vehicle so I could actually see the damage for myself. I have never had another mechanic take the time to do that. Throughout the entire process, he kept me updated on everything, including when the parts arrived and the progress of the repair. That level of communication and transparency is rare these days. Before approving the repair, I did my own research on what it typically costs to replace a flywheel, and I found that Sam's estimate was very fair and competitively priced. There were no surprise charges, no pressure, and no unnecessary upselling. During the repair, they also replaced the transmission fluid since the transmission had to be removed to replace the flywheel, and they completed a front-end alignment before returning my vehicle. It's obvious they take pride in doing the job correctly instead of cutting corners. Customer service like this is hard to find. Honest work, fair pricing, excellent communication, and treating customers with respect goes a long way. One thing that really stood out to me was the trust they built throughout the process. I called him since it was late afternoon after the local tire shops were closed. He did an excellent job and surprised me by showing me the nail I saw wasn't even the main problem, there was a second nail further into the tire that I wasn't able to easily see. He even gave me the nail as a souvenir haha. Prices are reasonable for coming to your location and being available nearly around the clock compared to the limited hours at most tire shops. I did take a little while longer than planned to come but I was at home and he was busy so it all worked out. Super nice guy and first class professional work. Hopefully I don't have any tire issues anytime soon but if so I'll call him.

I scheduled my appointment for 8:30am and when I arrived at 8:01 am, I was told very nasty that I was late and my appointment was at 7:30am. I said, that's impossible because that's the time I drop my daughter off for school so there is now way I agreed to get there at 7:30am. I also explained to them that the reason I was 30 minutes early (remember, my appointment was at 8:30am) is because my car kept stalling to start (push button start, car is a 2020). I let them turn the car off to change the oil. After being there an hour, the guy quotes my oil change and says to me that he will "check my battery" to see if its low. At about 10:45 am (at this point, I'm there for 2 hours for an oil change), its time to pay and they tried to charge me $125.00 for "looking at my battery to figure out what the problem was". I was never told that it would cost me an additional $125 to "look at my battery". I asked him why would I pay $125 for something AutoZone does for free?! He then got nasty and told me that he will drop the $125 so "I wouldn't leave on bad terms" and I asked that I never return. I said, "no problem, you aren't the only mechanic in town that does oil changes". Never, ever deal with these people.

As a customer, I expected them to stand behind their work and help resolve the situation, but that hasn't been my experience.
