I ordered the Parisian bouquet, a balloon and a card. Immediately after placing my order in the morning I messaged and called the business leaving a message to add my name that I forgot to add. I tried calling multiple times and did not get through to anyone. I did not receive a message or call, until the delivery confirmation email later in the evening without a picture of what was delivered. Other flower delivery companies have provided pictures of deliveries. For a premium order I would expect better service. read more

Long overdue review.. I had gone into the shop and wanted to order a flower arrangement for my cousins services. I wanted all red. Different shades with some green but didn't want it to look "Christmas-y." The arrangement came out beautiful and I was very happy with the flowers. We were married on August 16th, 2025. As the groom, I had my share of wedding-related responsibilities. My fiancé encountered difficulties with other florists and felt they were unable to fulfill her requirements. I recommended Hill's, and within a week, she and her bridesmaids visited. Following their time with Tonnie and her father, Memo, she was pleased to have found the perfect florist for our wedding, which provided me great comfort. Whenever I need a nice arrangement, I always try to get them from Hills Flower's first. They always have beautiful arrangements with different styles, sometimes very creative. Flowers are always very fresh and tend to last a while wherever they end up decorating. It is located in an unlikely part of midtown, tucked away on Race, on the edge of the appropriately named Rose Garden district, where you just kind of have to know where it is to find it. The florists who work there are always very professional and always go out of their way to customize what you choose or suggest better arrangements. If you choose one of the arrangements from the display, they'll make sure all the flowers are fresh and replace them with new ones if needed. The place that's kind of an antique atmosphere to it, something that for me adds to its charm - I've been hooked on this place for a while and hopefully others can now learn about this gem. read more

Believe the reviews when they say the bouquet looks NOTHING like the photo online. When I received the flowers, I immediately noticed something was off. Some flowers looked brown and the bouquet was very green instead of it being colorful like what was advertised. I started looking more into it and I noticed other reviews were the same as mine. Hill's used to be my go-to for flowers for many years. I recently called in and placed an order for pick up. At the time I didn't realize there was an owner/management change. When I arrived I was shocked to see the cute little showroom was empty and lacking displays, plants and flowers. The service was friendly enough but the arrangement was very disappointing. All the flowers seemed bunched together and lacking a nice arrangement. It also wasn't as tall as described online. Little did I know that the recipient of the flowers I purchased had a professional florist in the family. The home had gorgeous floral arrangements that put my gift to shame. I kinda felt embarrassed because the arrangement that I ordered had the potential to be a beautiful arrangement. Wish I had taken a picture to add to this review. read more

I would give them a 0 if yelp allowed. We received wilted, broken flowers. The individual paid over 100 dollars to have these delivered. There were 7 broken flowers, completely unacceptable. I tried calling them and surprise they won't call me back. I love the historic building of this florist so I decided to go to this florist. The owner (Mimo?) took my order for a boutonnière that I needed for my grandma's 100th birthday party the next day. I sensed that he was super busy (preparing large table centerpieces etc) but he still said yes. I made some random suggestions for flowers including orchid, yellow roses, and some random green foliage. I said that it can't be too heavy and she will wear it for 4 hours. We didn't settle on a design but I trusted that he would pull something together. He asked me if I liked baby's breath; I said no. The next morning, he was rushing out another huge order as I dropped by to pick up the boutonnière. He remembered all the flowers I liked and disliked and made a beautiful boutonnière. Really nice vintage flower shop (looks like they have been in business since the 1920s!). I passed by several times driving and always in my list of stores to check. Last week O was in the area and I could not resist to gift myself the joy of flowers. I realized they are more 'delivery' that flower and plant shop for the grab and go. However they still had some bouquets ready to go and I choose a very colorful one that had some flowers closed but they have been opening during the week in a explosion of color and joy in my apartment. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE from any vendor we've ever hired. My husband tried to surprise me with a flower arrangement purchased from Hills for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The arrangement was prepaid & instructions were provided to have the arrangement delivered specifically to the hotel lobby front desk as stated & handwritten by Hills staff on the recipient card. We had dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant where we had our wedding, but the restaurant wasn't open yet (reason for delivery to hotel lobby). My husband made pre-arrangements with the hotel manager to accept the arrangements and have them placed on the restaurant table by the time we got there. We arrived for our 5:30pm reservations and no flowers. I didn't know what's was going on but I could tell my husband was preoccupied by something else. My husband checked with the hotel lobby and the arrangement was not delivered. No phone call attempt was made by Hills to let my husband know why the flowers were not delivered even though Hills sent an email confirmation at 4:30pm stating the arrangement was delivered. My husband called to find out what was going on and the lady of the shop was really rude & defensive and hung up on my husband. My husband called back and put the call on speaker phone so the hotel manager could hear how rude & unprofessional they were. Hills were more worried about personal blame than trying to rectify the situation. The hotel manager went out of his way without us knowing and went over to Hills to pick up the arrangement for us but they wouldn't give him the arrangement. They were also very rude to the hotel manager. Seriously!! Who does that? They finally delivered the flowers as we were just about to leave. We tried to support local business but I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND using Hills. I'm so appalled by the horrible & unprofessional experience we had with them. read more

We don't like to complain about things online, but this place called Hill's Flowers in San Jose is horrible. We couldn't be present at the funeral of our friend's father, but we wanted to order a funeral wreath to be delivered to the funeral home with our condolences. The picture on the left is what we ordered online, but they sent the one pictured on the right. We called them merely to tell them that we didn't receive what we had requested (we had even called them in advance a couple days before to verify the order and to ensure our message to the family would clearly be displayed on the wreath), and they promptly said they'll just refund us if we don't like it. We were surprised at their response, but said okay. They said they need to take the wreath back to refund. We told them to get it back later as the funeral service is going on. The guy on the line then said, "Enjoy the flowers; we'll still refund the money." In other words, they decided to refund without taking back the wreath. We even had the guy clarify his statement. Turns out, they showed up at the funeral home anyway in the middle of service to take it back. We were already embarrassed about what they sent to the funeral service, and they made it even worse by taking it back during service despite having said they no longer needed it back. We tried calling them several times after this, but they did not answer the phone. Again, this is Hill's Flowers located at 266 Race St., San Jose, CA 95126. If I was able to give negative stars i would....I ordered flowers to be delivered two weeks before the delivery date... in the special instructions, I was clear that the delivery was to be done between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. when the delivery WAS NOT DELIVERED. I called the store to inquire. The OWNER was Rude and said deliveries were to be done by the END OF THE DAY! I asked him why have "Special Instructions" if they were not read or followed. The OWNER said forget it. Do you want a refund? I told him "what I want is my Flowers to be Delivered, Can you deliver before 2:00?" he said he said he will try but if not he will try and deliver again tomorrow.....(not acceptable) My Delivery was Time and DATE sensitive. I did everything I could to make sure that as the CUSTOMER I gave the OWNER the time and the information needed to deliver the order on time... HILL'S Flowers Failed at every level at this.... I called and spoke to a guy named Manny and explained to him that the flowers were never delivered and he was just defensive and extremely rude. He didn't care, all he did was have attitude and didn't even apologize. To try and get a refund it was a hassle too and I finally just had to dispute the charge with my bank to get my money back. She's out of town, so she gave me a heads up to keep an eye out. The day goes by and no arrangement shows. She calls a number of times with no response. The following day I call (finally picked up after a few calls) to check on the status & am told that the flowers were not available, but could arrive on Wednesday. I stay home from work to receive them on Wednesday, but no flowers - I call again and am told that he had said Thursday (PS. - he definitely didn't). He promises they will arrive Thursday EOD. Thursday shows and no flowers, no call, email, or pigeon mail to tell us they won't be arriving - Just a refund statement. Honestly SHOOK at the fact someone runs their business like this. read more
