During COVID, this business is taking orders via phone/email for pickup at a nearby restaurant (Mr. Henry's). Which is awesome, because it's basically Willy Wonka's factory for foodies. Seriously, Leah has something for everything! All high quality and at fair prices. Fancy European knives, Nordicware baking supplies, endless tea towels and spatulas and specialty molds and cutters. Whether you just need a new can opener (she has four options) or a fancy new gadget, she's got you covered. She even sells some local artisanal snacks and bar ingredients. Seriously, I haven't even lived in the area that long and I so miss browsing in this store. I can't wait til it's back, and will keep ordering by phone in the meantime!

Not only is Leah extremely knowledgeable, but she remembers EVERY one of her customers and knows what we tend to buy.

Best believe when I tell you how I was both excited and nervous at the same time. My girlfriend has…read morebeen telling me about the classes that she takes, and she decided to book me one to join her. I have never cooked outside of my home and only for a handful of people, so this was an experience! We showed up around the start time, put on our aprons, and prepared to get to work. It was only four of us in the class, all working at one table... I can't decide whether I'm happy it was a more intimate experience or if I would have preferred more participants so I have less attention to myself since it was my first time... Either way it was an absolute blast. The theme of this class was Spanish date night, so we made this chickpea asparagus dish, cheese-stuffed piquillos, Serrano ham- wrapped cod, and almond empanadas. The instruction was clear, tips were given throughout, and overall I found it to be a very approachable experience. Huge shoutout to Penny for doing a fantastic job. Oh, did I mention I used some new kitchen tools and quite frankly had to buy them in the store immediately after?? So fun.

Took a class for work and team building. Positives were the Chef who was amazing. He answered all…read morethe questions and was patient with our team. The melon wrapped in Proccuito (sp?) was delicious. Would have never put those flavors together. The clam pasta with cream/white wine sauce was also yummy. Downside the raspberry and fig galette was a little too sweet for me, but I learned how to make pie crust work. Also stand up eating at the end was not as fun as a sit down meal would have been l. I am actually surprised they don't have a sit down dining table set with all their extras in the center of the store, it would be great advertising! Overall, 4.5 stars.

I only came in for some kitchen rags and saw a sale for $11 from $15 but I couldn't find the right…read morelabeled rags. I asked for help and the woman looked also and found the closest thing but she didn't think that was correct either but told me she'd charge me the listed sale price. She said she thought there was a mis-listing. I also picked up some other things I needed for the kitchen. When I came home I took a closer look at the rags' original price and they were listed for $23! So she gave me more than 50% off! That was pretty awesome.

Very disappointed with the customer service at Sur La Table…read more I purchased a coffee machine and returned to the store the very next day because I was not satisfied with it. The machine had only been tested by running water through it, which is a normal step to determine whether it functions properly and meets expectations. Despite this, the staff refused to accept the return. What made the experience even more frustrating was the attitude of the employees. Instead of focusing on helping a customer who had just made a purchase, they repeatedly questioned why I bought the machine in the first place. This felt dismissive, unprofessional, and completely irrelevant to the issue at hand. I understand that stores have return policies, but the way this situation was handled showed very little regard for customer satisfaction. A coffee machine is not something you can truly evaluate without at least setting it up and testing it. Refusing a next-day return after minimal use and then interrogating the customer about their purchase decision is not the level of service I expected from a specialty kitchen retailer. This experience has left me with a negative impression of Sur La Table, and I will think twice before making another major purchase there.
