They say my rear brake pads and rotors need to be replaced + my rear shocks are leaking and are dead. They want $780 for the rear brakes and rotors then another $1250 for rear shocks and alignment. $2,030 worth of repairs for a 6 year old car with about 48000 miles on it. Obviously don't pay this if your car can still run fine and I immediately start searching for auto shops for help. I find out about Atech Auto by sending in a Yelp request and Alex gets back to me same day. He quotes me HALF the price Toyota wanted and can get me in the shop next weekend when I was free. Pretty good deal when compared to some other quotes I got. Bring my car in on Saturday around 9am and it probably doesn't get done until around 3pm. There isn't really a waiting area except for some lawn chairs. It's best to take an uber or ride Muni somewhere else to kill some time until your car is ready. Probably my only feedback is I wish they would've called me when my car was ready rather than me guessing and calling them, but hey they looked busy. Got the car back, paid the agreed price, and was on my way. I don't notice a huge change with how the car feels but I at least appreciate not being up charged twice the amount for similar services. Would recommend reaching out to them if you ever need to work on your car!

I went and dropped it off and he GUESSED (didn't do a full diagnostic test) it was a fuel pump issue and said he's 95% it was that. Told us a certain price and after the car was done, a few days later, he called and upped the price $200 more for no reason. After 2 weeks of having my car my car didn't start AGAIN. AAA insurance came and did a diagnostic and said it was the battery needed a new one so I got one and my car sounds better and issues was solved. Alex (owner) over charges people and doesn't do a thorough job. REPLYING TO THE COMMENT(Alex): I find it very unprofessional that you as a owner / business man would put your customers name, car, family business, and bring up how much you've helped have helped them on here. First off I'm a WOMAN my name is on my yelp, I don't have to hide or lie. This is MY yelp so I get to put my opinion and experience on here. Did I feel like I got overcharged, yes from $500 as quoted the first time to $700 before picking it up. There's many mechanics that ordered things on Amazon for their customers. Other businesses owners would comment after negative reviews with " we apologize for that experience" not argue back. It's very weird how you mentioned how much you help and do for others. My experience is my experience and my opinion is my opinion.

I gave them a call Saturday morning and spoke to La Lo. He was very helpful, pleasant, and very customer service oriented. I told him about the battery light and he asked if I could bring it in around 1pm since they were pretty booked that day. After bringing in the car, it took about 40 minutes until they were able to come up with a diagnosis for me - the alternator needed replacing. La Lo gave me a quote for the repair, and even did some research to see if he can get better pricing for the part, which he did. He saved me a few hundred dollars, which was much appreciated. He told me I would be able to credit the cost of the diagnosis ($85) towards the repair. I brought the car in for repair the following Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). My wife's car works great now, thanks to DAS Auto! From the initial call, to the in-person interaction, you could tell they care about their customers. Even hearing how they speak to other customers in their shop, they're very honest about the repair (La Lo even told one customer the cost of his repair and that more than likely they might find other things wrong if they went through with it). I highly recommend them! They'll be our go-to mechanic moving forward!

I pulled in expecting the usual: wait, sigh, scroll my phone, question my life choices while watching fluorescent lights hum overhead. Instead, I got something closer to a well-run pit stop staffed by people who genuinely seem like they want your car to keep surviving in this economy. The staff was immediately friendly in that effortless way that doesn't feel scripted or forced. No awkward upselling theater, no mysterious jargon that makes you feel like your car is secretly falling apart in slow motion. Just straightforward explanations, clear pricing, and the unsettling realization that this might actually be... easy? The service itself was fast--like "wait, that's it?" fast--but still had that thorough, checklist-complete energy that reassures you they didn't just pop the hood, nod seriously, and hope for the best. It was efficient without feeling rushed, which feels increasingly rare in the modern world. And then there's the location situation, which honestly deserves its own review section called "The Accidental Food Corridor of Daly City." While waiting, you're basically within walking distance of an entire supporting cast of snack destiny: Little Caesars quietly doing what it does--hot, fast, unapologetic pizza energy Subway offering the classic "I should probably be responsible" sandwich option 7-Eleven standing ready with existentially necessary snacks and beverages Krispy Krunchy Chicken bringing dangerously crispy temptation into the mix Starbread Bakery quietly sabotaging any intention of "just being nearby" with warm, sugary inevitability It starts to feel less like an oil change appointment and more like you accidentally scheduled yourself into a snack-themed amusement district while your car gets serviced. By the time everything was done, the car was ready, the pricing felt fair, and I was briefly convinced that this might be the most efficiently located cluster of practical errands and emotional food decisions in Daly City. I came in for maintenance. I left with a refreshed vehicle, a suspicious appreciation for operational efficiency, and a mental list of baked goods I definitely didn't need but absolutely considered. The staff at this shop are amazing, and it's rare to come across such outstanding customer service these days! Keep reading, and you'll find out why in the end... From start to finish, the service was exceptional. When I called, Dijon promptly assisted me and scheduled an appointment for an oil change, tire inspection, and a check of all under-the-hood fluids, ensuring my vehicle was ready for a road trip to my son's Class of 2026 commencement and graduation. I arrived early as he had suggested, and his warm welcome and assistance with where to park were greatly appreciated. Upon entering, I was courteously greeted by Assistant Manager Ronnie. I told them both that I had booked an online appointment for the same services last week at Wheel Works on Skyline Blvd. and shared my frustrating, disappointing experience when they didn't honor my 6 p.m. appointment, saying they don't even accept appointments at that time. Ronnie assured me that they honor their online appointments and that I had come to the right place, promising they'd take care of me. I told them I'd been a loyal Midas customer for over 30 years, back when they were on Alamany Blvd., across from the 76-gas station. They welcomed me back warmly and said that whatever I need, just bring it in my car and they'll handle it. That's the kind of 5-star customer service every customer wants to experience. Ronnie was right on time for my appointment and checked my oil, letting me know it was at 40% and didn't need to be changed yet. He assured me I was good to go for my trip, checked everything else, and even topped off my windshield wiper fluid--no charge--just an honest man with morals and integrity. I told them I'd be back for my oil change when it's due, and this will be my go-to shop from now on (smiling). I told them I'm going to write the best Yelp review ever and let their bosses know everyone at this location deserves a raise, lol! Thanks again, Ronnie and Dijon. I brought my car in Monday at 2 PM to replace two front tires. The woman at the front desk was friendly and let me know they were busy, but said my car would likely be ready by the end of the day and that I would receive a call with any updates. They close at 7 PM, and after receiving no call or communication at all, I headed there around 6:45 PM expecting the car to be finished. Instead, I was told they were too busy to get to it and was asked if I wanted to leave it overnight so it could be the first car worked on Tuesday morning. At that point, I was already disappointed because I could have taken my car elsewhere and had the job completed the same day. The next morning, I returned around 9:30 AM since they open at 7 AM. Gabriel was helping another customer, which was completely understandable, so my partner and I waited patiently. However, after finishing with the customer, Gabriel acted as if we weren't even standing there waiting. No acknowledgment, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. He continued working on the computer and answered the phone while we stood there for nearly 20 minutes. I understand phones need to be answered, but basic customer service and acknowledgment go a long way. After all that waiting, Gabriel finally informed us that they never worked on the car because the wrong tire size had been entered into their system by the previous employee. My car is a basic 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe -- nothing rare or complicated -- and instead of correcting the mistake, no effort was made to resolve the issue or communicate with me. At that point, I decided to take my business elsewhere. But it got worse. While driving home, I noticed a loud dragging noise coming from underneath my car. I pulled over and discovered my catch can dragging on the ground. We drove back immediately, and they claimed it may have happened while backing the vehicle out because the car is lowered -- despite the car being on stock suspension. Thankfully, Omar was accommodating and fixed the issue quickly, which I appreciated. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. Poor communication, wasted time, lack of accountability, and terrible customer service from Gabriel. Based on other reviews, it seems this isn't uncommon. Gabriel's attitude is not suited for customer service, especially at the front desk where customers are the first priority. I would strongly recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere.
