So I go to Toyota for normal Toyotacare and service but this time around the rep from Toyota tells me my 2020 prius needs some "work." They say my rear brake pads and rotors need to be replaced + my rear shocks are leaking and are dead. They want $780 for the rear brakes and rotors then another $1250 for rear shocks and alignment. $2,030 worth of repairs for a 6 year old car with about 48000 miles on it. Obviously don't pay this if your car can still run fine and I immediately start searching for auto shops for help. I find out about Atech Auto by sending in a Yelp request and Alex gets back to me same day. He quotes me HALF the price Toyota wanted and can get me in the shop next weekend when I was free. Pretty good deal when compared to some other quotes I got. Bring my car in on Saturday around 9am and it probably doesn't get done until around 3pm. There isn't really a waiting area except for some lawn chairs. It's best to take an uber or ride Muni somewhere else to kill some time until your car is ready. Probably my only feedback is I wish they would've called me when my car was ready rather than me guessing and calling them, but hey they looked busy. Got the car back, paid the agreed price, and was on my way. I don't notice a huge change with how the car feels but I at least appreciate not being up charged twice the amount for similar services. I went to Atech because I heard it was a good place and my car didn't start so I had it towed to this shop. I went and dropped it off and he GUESSED (didn't do a full diagnostic test) it was a fuel pump issue and said he's 95% it was that. Told us a certain price and after the car was done, a few days later, he called and upped the price $200 more for no reason. After 2 weeks of having my car my car didn't start AGAIN. AAA insurance came and did a diagnostic and said it was the battery needed a new one so I got one and my car sounds better and issues was solved. Alex (owner) over charges people and doesn't do a thorough job. REPLYING TO THE COMMENT(Alex): I find it very unprofessional that you as a owner / business man would put your customers name, car, family business, and bring up how much you've helped have helped them on here. First off I'm a WOMAN my name is on my yelp, I don't have to hide or lie. This is MY yelp so I get to put my opinion and experience on here. Did I feel like I got overcharged, yes from $500 as quoted the first time to $700 before picking it up. There's many mechanics that ordered things on Amazon for their customers. Other businesses owners would comment after negative reviews with " we apologize for that experience" not argue back. It's very weird how you mentioned how much you help and do for others. Gotta love dealerships.... They'll rip you a new one when it comes to repairs esp with European cars. I found Atech on Yelp and used their project feature to request a quote. It also sent requests out to a few other shops, tho that part is always random, and not all of them were even close to me. Anyhow, Alex the owner responded in minutes and gave the most reasonable quote to change my BMW front brakes using OEM pads. I dropped my car off in the morning (they were working on several European cars), and it was ready by early afternoon, just as promised. Alex was honest, transparent, explained things in layman's terms, and made me comfortable as a woman who doesn't know cars. Just a heads up, in case you want to get some work done while you wait, there isn't a waiting room...just several lawn chairs near the entrance. But hey, it helps keep their overhead low, and those savings get passed on to customers! read more

I came here for a drop in for an oil change on a Friday midmorning, they were really prompt and kind! They are definitely guys who get the work done and aren't chatty lol! I dropped the car off at around 11:30 AM and the work was done in about an hour. They did a full synthetic oil job and it cost about $90. I really appreciate that they were able to fit me in same day for an oil change. The only complaint I have is that they didn't do their due diligence for why my TPM sensor light was on the dashboard and just filled up the tires with air. I have two known bad sensors and haven't replaced them yet, and because of that, the tires ended up overinflated and were veering at highway speeds. My fault for not mentioning to staff but they should've verified the psi for safety purposes. Fair pricing for the basic services. Parking situation is terrible in this area so be prepared to pull halfway into the shop upon arrival. read more

I've been coming here every time for my Motor Oil change. I prefer to come here because of the distance from home, so if they cost the same elsewhere I'd choose here. Fair pricing, seem to be honest with options when I asked about fixing my A/C he did let me know how much it is to DIY versus them filling it. They were fast per usual, seems to be busy every time I've been here. I've had them done my breaks before and seems to have been fine over the past year or maybe 2 years that I've had it now. My son car. I've had several cars go here. I think my last visit didnt sit right.. I paid about 800 for the change of spark plugs. I went to another mechanic and was told I over paid by at least 400 .. they charged $140 an hour for 3 hours. It doesn't take 3 hours. My previous car I also felt like I overpaid for the work then another issue occurred with the car. They said it was from previous issue. But it didn't have that noise before they worked on it. Had them put a tire on a rim and balance it but it leaked from the valve stem and the balance was off. They also screwed the wheel up pretty bad when mounting it. I would avoid this place for installing tires and balancing. read more

Got Alex's name from my brother who has been going to Atech for years. We took my wife's 2003 Camry there, We had check engine light on! and he found a lot of things to take care of. And often that scares people away from a mechanic since you start to think they are scamming you. But Alex told us he found things that should be fixed and things that could wait. Which made us feel he was honest. Granted it was expensive either way especially for a 22+ year old car. (It's in good shape tho and LOW miles). They took two days to finish the job and notified us when ready. Car drives smoother and with more power so I guess it was worth the expense. Nothing is cheap these days and finding a trustworthy mechanic is invaluable. Fairly large shop space and I counted 5 mechanics working when I dropped off the car. I WILL GIVE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE STAR. AVIOID AT ALL COST. Brought my GTR for them to install a custom exhaust few months ago. ALEX the shopkeeper quoted me and told me to drop off for installation. Come back for pickup and found out there was a chip scratch just right beside the new exhaust on the bumper itself and they totally denied for the responsibility telling me that it was there before the installation. I asked for evidence or if they have taken pictures before the installation but nope they DID NOT! Truly they lied about the situation. Out of pocket i have to spend $600 extra for their damage they caused. THEY even told me to pay by cash and provide me a discount if by cash before i found out the flaw. Luckily i didnt and i paid with credit card. After several months of dispute with my bank, providing evidences and pictures, they side with me rather than this shop with awful business practice! (I pinged 10+ on this app) Some shops tried to take advantage of my ignorance and asked me 250% of what this shop asked. Every other shop asked for more in just labor alone. This shop worked around my schedule and offered to stay open later for me to tow my car to the shop. They replaced the part with a quality replacement in just a few days. They also let me keep my car at the shop for few days for my payroll to come in so I could pay for the service and avoid getting towed on a side street.
