THIS PLACE!!!! let it be known that if you are renting the hall for an event, the owners will do everything humanly possible to do as little as possible to help you. My sister and I had to yell and argue with them on countless topics including raising the price last minute and not wanting to move table and chairs out of the way, even practically no heat during the month of February during set up hours. All and all, you should probably go somewhere else. I cannot stop praising Tony -Manager of Hillside Banquet Hall and his staff for the wonderful and professional job they did as I celebrated my birthday on September 19,2014. From the inception of the idea of a party to the actual day of the party Tony has been helpful with suggestions to make the party a success. What a success it was. The facilities were clean , settings were beautiful and his staff could not have done more. I would highly recommend Hillside Banquet Hall for your next function!!! Honestly, I don't think we'll ever bring our business to this location. This place is overpriced and they don't even give you everything they say, well at least the owner. Charged for extra guests but stopped serving drinks two hours before the event ended and when I asked to serve water, they just gave warm tap water.. I mean who does that? The bartenders had attitude, the female gave me a bad look. I mean how do you really expect people to do business with you again after all that? If you were serving the food, and provided the DJ, then I'd understand but they didn't. My best advice is stay away, you don't need this. read more

DO NOT BOOK this hall!!! They promise you everything ..BIG CROOKS. They switch work shifts on day of party so you can't get in touch with the person that booked you. The day of party I arrived .. The place was a huge mess from a party from 2 days before. The floor was disgusting with empty beer bottles and garbage everywhere. Our guest arrived and bathrooms were disgusting. The fat owner is a huge liar and doesn't want to help at all with anything. One hour before party The place was freezing..we asked him to put on the heat & he said NO - mind that there was a ONE year old baby there freezing. ABSOLUTELY LOW! My party started at 6pm and they promised everything (tableclothes,bar,food, etc) to be set up hours before party. They began putting on tableclothes at 5pm , that's ONE hour before party. I had my son's 21st. Birthday last week (02/17/18). The food was great and the service was excellent. Very courteous staff, I will book this hall again in a heartbeat. Younger cousin had her sweet 16 here in 2007. The manager was so accommodating and worked with the family to create a fusion menu of traditional food and food from our culture. They servers were great and everyone was nice. Only thing is they didn't have their alcohol license back then so I hope they have it now. Parking was pretty good in the residential neighborhood. I would def book this for an event. The tasting i heard was great and what was the deciding factor to book them. read more

I agree with the past reviewer, DO NOT BOOK THIS HALL ! This past Saturday I attended my cousins wedding here and she was very displeased. She was freezing downstairs waiting to make her entrance, there was no heat and the food that was served upstairs was not available for her downstairs. She's the bride, seriously?! The bathrooms were disgusting. Also the staff was lacking in customer service and quality, rudeness was given the entire night to us. Appetizers were to be served on time at 8:15, did not occur til after 9. The waiters spilled champagne on THREE tables. Also the food from that night was supposed to be packed and given to the bride after. DID NOT HAPPEN. And even worse, her wedding cake was MISSING along with her cake topper and an additional cake; it was supposed to be served to guests with hot beverages during the party, she PAID EXTRA for that, and did not receive the service. $1500 for the staff gratuity when they didn't even do their job, RIDICULOUS. They don't deserve anyones business. The bride had to pay everything up front, at least give her what she paid for. read more

I had my birthday done here earlier this year and I must say, I was very pleased with the food and service. The program manager, Mukesh was very helpful and made an extra effort to make sure my event was nothing less than superb. He and the staff went above and beyond to make my guests feel welcomed. I would recommend this place to whoever is thinking of having a party here. The neighborhood had a lot of parking available and setting up in the hall was fairly easy. DO NOT BOOK HILLSIDE BANQUET! Keep searching for other venues. I had a party here in September 2016 and it was a terrible experience. If I could go back I would not waste my time, money or stress. This place is not worth it. In the initial meeting the manager HAYMAN was very convincing by telling us we can have all that we requested. But as time went by HAYMAN and his staff began to show their true colors. At first they are nice and try to be accommodating but as soon as you pay, you are no longer a priority. Moreover, if your guest list is small you are also not a priority. My guest list was 80 people for the big room and they kept asking that we invite more people. They would constantly compare our event to others and mention that they have had more guests. Ultimately it should not matter how many people I'm bringing. I'm paying you for a service and I expect to get what I'm paying for. The most stressful part of this experience was on the day off my party. There were no managers or staff there to assist in setting up. When my friend went to look for HAYMAN who was suppose to be there, he found him sleeping on a couch in the basement and saw the food that they were suppose to prepared for the party expose out in the open, hours before the party was suppose to start. Even worse, he also caught the "chef" watching porn!!! Disgusting! My friend proceeded to confront HAYMAN about the nature in which he conducts business, by not being present and ignoring the phone calls but he denied any wrong doing and began talking down to him. Ultimately this was a business transaction and they fail to fulfill all of their promises. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. SERIOUSLY. I wished that I taken the advice of previous reviewers. I do not know how they are capable to have 4 stars, they must have someone writing fake reviews, with claims of managers with different names. FYI there are only 2 managers there and the names are HAYMAN and Raj. Also, the owner , Rajhandi, does care about your complaints either he was there the night of our party and when we complained to him about his employees in front of other people in the restaurant, he was not phased and did not apologize or show any sign of concern.
