This was my first time ever establishing care with a primary care provider, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lizbet Castillo Gonzalez was awesome. She was friendly, professional, easy to talk to, and really took the time to listen to me and answer my questions without making me feel rushed. The front desk staff were amazing as well. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and made the check-in process easy. The medical assistants were also great and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. Since I've never had a primary care provider before, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the entire staff made the whole experience comfortable and easy from start to finish. I left feeling like I had finally found someone I could trust with my healthcare. I've been with Hillside Primary Care since 2024. from my first visit to changing locations closer to my home everything has gone well. From check in and the staff in the front to the assistants Doctors lab and technicians, I have only had great service. Even the call center is very prompt in following through with my requests and making sure messages are sent to the appropriate team. I recently just completed a women's well visit and let me tell you I am happy to be here with Hillside Primary Care. She made me feel comfortable and heard. She is attentive. I am always asked to provide a review and waited for the right time. I believe they have been proven and a great big "Mahalo" to all of the Hillside Primary Care team. Office contact, no direct number, no one ever calls you back.... I canceled an appointment on Feb. 5, 2026 and had been calling them since February 2, 2026. I just confirmed my call activity with Jasmine (a lady with an asian accent.) Im very upset that as of today I have not had a call back. I was charged $50 for cancelation fee LOL charged on my card today which I did not authorize nor presented my card in person for this charge. YOU can not charge my insurance card with out my consent. NOW, calling and I can not get a call back and Jasmine herself cant get a hold of the office/ billing manager. VERY upset with this place. read more

I have been a long time patient with Hillside, I LOVE my doctor and the front desk staff is remarkable. However, the one star review is directly related to their insurance/billing department. My insurance changed and prior to my appointment I went into the office just to make sure they accept my insurance. The wonderful young woman at the front scanned my insurance information into the computer. The day before my appointment I was told over the phone yes they accept my insurance. I provided my member ID number and all of the information required to verify. It was not until I showed up to the appointment that the insurance department changed what they told me over the phone stating they don't accept my insurance and tried charging me $100 for the appointment. Even the woman at the front desk was confused because she remembered that I made it a point to come in and verify my insurance days prior to my appointment. This is not the first time, second, third, fourth or fifth time that the insurance/billing department has been horrible at doing their job. Unfortunately, I will be changing my primary care physician, NOT for anything she has done because again I love her, but their insurance office waste patients time and will absolutely try to over charge you, if you don't pay attention to what they are doing. read more

I went in bc ive been sick with cough and congestion type flu symptoms. I expected to be given treatment or steriod shot and some meds. They just sent me next door to have blood labs done. So i was confused and asked the clerk hey so what about my sickness am i getting meds? She said yes flu meds. I went to heb and they said there no meds there for me sent for any type of flu or sickness treatment. Smh..That was my whole reason i went to get well and taken care of. read more

This place is a joke! An almost 2 hour wait to patients WITH appointments! They have an appointment call centers in Aisa! I went in to the office in the Southside San Antonio to ask a question. The receptionist was polite, however, she allowed another patient that was sitting in the waiting room to answer my question!! WTH?!?!? Time to look for another doctor. I will not wait almost two hours to be seen with an appointment. Plus you want to charge patients for being 15 minutes late or canceling. Ridiculous. read more

This place is absolutely horrible, they don't care about their patients.. it is extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone for questions or medical concerns.. you are constantly met with speaking to a foreign person that it hard to understand and cannot answer any questions cannot transfer you to the clinic you go to. The amount of times I've had to full explain to them what's going on so she can "send a email" to my husband's pcp and wait for responses that they never even follow up on. I have never in my life dealt with a place like this he has had several medical emergencies in the last month and is still hard to even get a straight answer or speak To someone at that. Please if you want actual help from people who actually care don't waste your time here. After he does this 2nd round of testing we are switching pcp's. read more

The personal and Drs are very polite and helpful. The environment is very welcoming. Dr explains ones health very well. The people are nice helpful. They explain your situation if any with such politeness. I would recommend this Drs facility to anyone. I've been to other Drs offices and they try to rush you and Dr just tells you have. DO NOT GO HERE. My mom has Medicare HMO. She was waiting weeks for a referral and approval to go to a specialist for emergent treatment she needed. I convinced her to go to HealthTexas, thank God she did. She had her first appointment and the following day she had all the approvals and referrals she needed to get the treatment she needs. Makes me wonder how many of their patients or elderly clients are just waiting in limbo without the care they need and no idea what to do? This practice needs to be investigated. read more

When the nurse weighed me she was talking Spanish. I told her I don't speak Spanish. The nurse mad a face and proceeded to talk to me in Spanish. I told her again I don't speak Spanish her respond was "ramirez, that is such a common Spanish name" ok in necessary and unprofessional that just because it's common doesn't mean I should speak Spanish. When I'm leaving the office manager tell me that, she talk to her and she didn't say that and that she's know her longer! Were you in the room, because she said it? Her respond was that well she call you twice in the waiting area and that was uncalled for! So let me get this straight she offered for doing job calling patients and because you didn't hear what she said it's also my fault because apparently you known her longer. After my appointment I got promoted for a survey so I filed a complaint, I called a month later to see why I have gotten a call back, ohh those complaints go to the office manger the one I filed the complaint on, she now she ignoring my complaint, maybe that is many fault also. read more

I was very hopeful about this place. The providers were great. However, their billing dept is A MESS!! I received a surprise bill for over $300 for their in house lab dept, when I was told they accepted my insurance. Surprise surprise, they use a third party lab (so I was misled) and now this unknown lab co that I've never heard of before, from a different state no less, sends me a huge bill. I called Hillside Primary Care to get some more information and explanation and was told it's not our problem, call the lab company. I'm confused because they did the labs in their office. I canceled my follow up appointment at Hillside Primary Care. They are unethical in my opinion. read more
