As a huge mushroom fan, like my love has dumped me deep into etymological fixation, I didn't know I could become more obsessed with mushrooms. Then the portobello fries came in. Crispy. Parmesan. Goodness. I feel an addiction developing that I pray I win over. I could eat 7 of these as my last meal and die happy without the rest of my life to supplement my case. The tuna tartare wasn't my favorite but there's nothing wrong with it; the seaweed is a nice salty and textural flair, tuna is fresh and cuts through the oil on the chips. The crab cake was also delicious, you could get really tender and juicy crab flavor through it, like butter. Mini sliders were also nice, kind of dense but the au jus helps a lot with that. And the jambalaya was amazing. Creamy, tomatoey (I think?), perfectly seasoned goodness. I think the andouille sausage, shrimp, and blackened chicken are a little washed in the blend rather than adding to it, but I wont complain about an already pretty good plate of jambalaya. Our server, Daisy, was also so amazing!! I swear the food tasted better than it's ever had in previous trips either here or their Malibu/Calabasas locations, and she is the independent variable. She was checking in on us, made sure we had everything we'd ever need, sang me happy birthday, and brought me an ice cream unprompted. I felt pampered like a feudal king, ambiance not helped with the piles upon piles of food in front of me. I definitely need to try her other menu suggestions next time, and pray I'm in her section. Definitely worth a visit!!

They have a beautiful outdoor dining area with lots of seating options. They don't take reservations, it's all first come, first served, but there are plenty of places to sit. It gets a bit busy on the weekends, so come early. I came on a Sunday at 10 AM while they were still serving their breakfast menu, which ends at 11. I got the power breakfast with two eggs, bacon, toast, and a choice of fruit or tater tots on the side. I got a coffee instead of alcohol, but they also had amazing smoothies. I will definitely come back soon, especially for the vibes.

But, you don't go for that. When they have live music it's a great place to meet with a group. Although it's mostly just guitar players and not a full band these days, but still worth going. Biggest drawbacks are that you do all the work. You have to order your own food, pick up your own food, get your own drinks, and even get your own waters. There is NO table service. It doesn't deter us from coming, but we've cut our visits about 75% in the last couple years because we're finding less and less value in the money spent.

There's alway that nice factor of trying someplace new. This was a find from one of our friend…read more Which was also a hit from another friend who's dined before. We had a dinner reservation last Saturday which we showed up a little early to have a cocktail before hand. It's located inside of a strip mall with loads of parking. A decent size patio seating. When you walk in, you're greeted with the hostess who were amazing. Right infront of you is the bar area. That itself isn't big at all. There's a few seat along the bar area and that's about it. Also inside dining isn't big as well. Restaurants wasn't massive but nice and quaint and very busy. We were told that if we wanted to grab a drink and take it outside to a spot while we wait for our table it would be fine. They would come get us once it's ready. Cocktails and wine menu was quite nice. They do allow you to bring up to two bottles for a corkage fee. Which we did take advantage of. But beforehand, started off with their smoke and sour cocktails. Mezcal, lime, hibiscus juice, farm egg whites and cherry bitters. It was quite delicious and that smoked mezcal, wow. If you like mezcal, it's worth trying. Bar area isn't big so we had to stand there and wait for our drink. Maybe a 10 to 15 minutes later, we were informed our table was ready. We were seated right behind the bar area for a table for four. I believe Jonathan was our waiter. Very sweet and friendly. Also, it did seemed like a lot of regulars. All the staff members seem to know everyone that was dining. Menu is limited but quite impressive. We started off with a few shared plates before the entrees. -Ember roasted red beets with preserved lemon crèma, spiced pumpkin seeds, pickled Fresno chilis and mint. Wow, it was delicious. The flavors with the beets, kiss kiss. -Smoke trout toast- blisters cherry tomatoes, candy beets, wild arugula, crème fraiche and lemon. This was top dish for starters from all of us. The flavor of the trout was the star of the dish. Highly recommend. -Mushrooms flatbread- shiitake, buna shimeji and oyster mushrooms, tarragon, fiore di Latte mozzarella and crème fraiche. Mushrooms lovers with amazing variety all combined together for a delicious bite. -Spicy scampi flatbread- rock shrimp, parsley, garlic, Calabrian chilis and parmigiano reggiano. It's literally having a seafood scampi but on a flatbread. Wow wow, favorite out of the two flatbread. Definitely recommend. Entrees, Manila clams and salt spring mussels tossed in spaghetti with Calabrian chilis and parsley. The flavors were excellent. Simple but very tasty. -Crispy gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, basil in a Parmesan fondue. It's alway a hit or miss for me but this was a hit. And the elk which was maybe a special. Not quite sure the whole description but it was very tasty. Plus it was very tender and cooked perfectly and mixed with a sauce and topped with crispy onions. Another hit. Lastly we actually had room left for dessert which was the bread pudding. Hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect way to end an amazing meal. The service was great. Food was excellent and highly recommended. Each dish had its unique taste that was delicious. Everything ordered was outstanding and no crumbs were left. We would definitely be back.

The food is inspired, and insanely delicious. The people are the best (great seeing you, Annie! Sorry I missed you, Vicki!). 8:15pm and still a lively crowd inside, everyone enjoying themselves. Naveed took care of me at the bar where I began with the perfectly prepared Moody Rooster Old Fashion. Added to that Just a couple appetizers this time: the Burrata and Artichoke, and the Sea Bream crudo. The former had a beautiful burrata mound atop artichoke hearts, pine nuts, and olive oil. Perfect blending of flavors. The crudo was equally well-received. An ample pile dressed up in the center of a shallow bowl, with plenty of olive oil, as opposed to being slices merely laid flat on a plate. Fortunately I'll be back in the area in a week. can't wait to return!

Boccacio's is right on Lake Westlake and offers such a beautiful atmosphere for any meal or occasion. Started out with Cuppacino's and enjoyed the peaceful lake views before our food was served. Our dishes came out hot and plenty by our server John, very friendly and ready to offer any assistance you need to make your meal perfecto. We have dined here many times but I truly enjoy Brunch here the most, they do offer inside dining and during the colder seasons here in So Cal they put up enclosed patio dining with heaters, but we do enjoy dining anytime of day al fresco. Great full bar options as well as wine is offered but may I suggest dining al fresco on the patio to enjoy the beautiful views of the lake, it really makes the dining experience memorable.
