    Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
    Amber R.

Loving The Stand right now as it's the perfect spot for every member in my family to get what they want. My son usually goes for a cheeseburger and fries. My husband does a lettuce wrapped burger with alll the toppings and a side salad. My current obsession is the teriyaki chicken bowl, sub lettuce for rice and add pickled jalapeños. Bursting with flavor, so filling and totally nourishing - chefs kiss! Parking is plentiful, though the spots right outside the restaurant can get full. The restaurant itself is bright and spacious and there's a nice patio area as well. Great to stop in with the family or online order and takeout is a breeze.

Short Rib Grilled Cheese with fries

Yum! I've been to the stand in Orange County, but decided to try this one on vacation. Yummmmm! My short rib grilled cheese was fantastic, with perfectly cooked meat, crispy onions, and the right amount of cheese. The fries were pretty good too. I recommend their ranch and bbq sauce for dipping, but I found their ranch was more of a garlic aïoli than a traditional ranch in texture and flavor. They have great outside and inside seating, though it was pretty busy seeing it was a Friday afternoon.

Southwest chicken burger w guacamole, bacon, sweet chili aioli, and corn relish

This is a most elevated burger experience! With their house made aiolis and the astounding variety of options you can feed everyone in the family. The salads are plentiful, the bowls are amazing with plenty of veggies-the seared 2.0 burger is over the top delicious. I keep returning to the southwest chicken burger, but the shroom havarti is also stellar. Fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings are ON POINT! They have Mac n cheese and nuggets for the kids, great service, a great variety of local beers on tap. This is no greasy spoon. This is a wonderfully elevated burger experience. You'll never want to go anywhere else for a burger.

Atmosphere is clean, staff is nice, and food is great! There's little wait time and tons of options for vegans, vegetarians, or people who are gluten free. The chicken club was great and they have a large variety of sauces, as well as free pickles to snack on :)

    ABC Burger

My family and I have been here twice already and both times have been freaking amazing! Hands down some of the best burgers we've ever had. We've tried the ABC Burger, chili fries, chips & guacamole, Onion Stack, and Jalapeño Burger. All the burgers were cooked perfectly to our preferences. First bites and it was heavenly. The fries on the chili fries were crispy and the chili complimented it nicely. Seriously, if you're looking for a fantastic burger and great service. The Stand is a must try.

    Chili Fries

I came back for a second time and the kids crispy chicken bites were a hit with the mini-me. Everything was as good as last time, except the chips and guac are not as good as the chili fries, but still good. This time I had the Onion Stack burger, just to try something different though I was craving another jalapeño burger. The Onion stack did not disappoint. Odd to say this considering I also had onion rings, but I can't stand the taste of onions. Thankfully, the onion strings in this burger made it more of a western bbq burger and less of an onion anything. My only complaint is that the onion rings were soft. They weren't bad, tasted alright, but not what I look for in onion rings. I like more crunch and less onion in the onion ring, but again these were ok. Based off this experience I'd say it was 4 stars, but still reminiscing about the jalapeño burger I'm keeping the review at 5. Well that's this critic's review. Until next time, I'll be eating.

We love The Stand! Our large party of 11 was easily seated at the ample outdoor tables! We all got something different, burgers, salads, sweet potato fries, shakes, and everyone loved everything! There is a variety of sauces to try so make sure to take advantage of that! The southwest chicken salad was SO good that I didn't think I would be able to finish it, but I did! I've had the wrap as well on a previous visit and it was also so fresh and a great mix of flavors! The employees were really nice and helpful. It just took a long time as the line moves slowly.

The place was packed, but I have to assume we got really lucky because we got seated right away at an open table near the front. Our server greeted us immediately and brought us waters for the table. We were overwhelmed initially by the menu options because everything sounded incredible. We asked our waitress what she recommended, and she said literally everything on the menu is amazing - nothing is bad and every dish is popular. So I was quite impressed to hear that. My friend and I decided to get the steak tartare, woodfire grilled octopus, fried gnocchi, and chicken liver pate. Every single dish was actually incredible. The chicken liver pate came with four slices of toast, some pickled vegetables and ground mustard. The pate was creamy, rich, slightly on the sweeter side, so it paired perfectly with the tang from the ground mustard & pickled vegetables. The woodfire grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Seriously the best, freshest octopus I've ever had! It wasn't chewy or fishy at all. The texture was absolutely perfect. It was very easy to cut into and juicy. It was paired perfectly with the aïoli as well. The steak tartare was extremely fresh. One of the things that I hate about steak tartare at restaurants sometimes is it will start to look brown from the meat oxidizing so it doesn't always look as appetizing, but this tartare was still had that vibrant red color as if they had just cut the meat. Lastly, the fried gnocchi was amazing. It's the first time I've ever had a dish with fried gnocchi. They paired it with a cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. I wish I remembered what was in it, but it was so good. I wanted to drink that sauce lol. Love how the gnocchi was also perfectly seared, had no lumps, and basically melts in your mouth. Overall, loved the ambience of this place as well. It's very hip. trendy. Definitely a louder environment but perfect for a weekend night out to enjoy great food. I would recommend making reservations. I think my friend and I probably just got lucky because we went a little bit earlier on a Friday night. Also wanna mention all of the wait staff was amazing. Food was served very quickly and we had no issues with any of our orders. I seriously cannot wait to come back here and try every single thing on the menu!

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. First, I want to say this review is not about my waiter. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. To make matters worse, the poached eggs were cold. My waiter kindly offered to bring me a fresh English muffin, which I declined, but I appreciated that he tried to make it right. When the check arrived, I also noticed a 3% service fee added to the bill. Personally, I'd much rather see menu prices reflect the restaurant's costs than have an additional fee added at the end. I wouldn't mind paying $25 for Eggs Benedict if it's prepared properly and there aren't surprise charges from management. I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.
