I had such a great stay at the Hilton Del Mar! From the moment I arrived, the staff at valet made me feel welcome and taken care of. Matin and Jacob assisted with my luggage and car. The check-in process was smooth, and the front desk was super accommodating with my requests. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing weekend. I also appreciated how close the hotel is to the beach and local spots in Del Mar--great location! A big shoutout to the valet team again for dealing with me coming in late- Matin, Samin, Zac and Jakob--who were incredibly friendly and efficient every time I needed my car. My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and it was ok. The photos on the website make it seem like a newer hotel but it's pretty old! Once we checked in and was walking to our room, the hotel had that Vegas smell about it where it felt like they caked the place with perfume. We noticed dust and spiderwebs along some of the rooms as we walked. When we got into our room, the bathroom smelled really bad! Like someone had left pee for days or something. And then the toilet stopped working and wouldn't flush so we had to call the front desk. They sent someone to come and luckily he was able to fix it but the room still smelled weird. For the price (we booked through hotels.com) it was an okay stay - we didn't stay a lot in the hotel so I think if you're just passing through town it's ok but I wouldn't stay here again. read more

First time visiting with the family. I love the lobby, Patio by the pool. They allowed you to bring your own food & drinks while hang out, but there's a curfew at their on time. We stayed in 1st floor room 1009. This room is by the door going to the parking lot. Wrong idea. First you can't sleep, you will be hearing the door, the vent from the bathroom, the stepping from the next floor. They charge you $27 for parking. They do have buffet for breakfast. It will be perfect for us, without our room experienced. And it's not too far from the freeway. read more

I just returned from spending a weekend at this Hilton and it exceeded expectations... I was in town for a soccer tournament with my son, and this was the hotel that the team selected and stayed at. The location could not have been more convenient to the nearby Surf Cup Sports Park as well as plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and... the beach! While the rooms could probably use a bit of a facelift, the beds were comfortable, the staff was accommodating, and the amenities were perfect for our purposes. We ate at the onsite restaurant -- on the patio -- both nights we were there. I would have liked to explore some of the many nearby restaurant options, but we were exhausted and staying in was easy! The food / drink is a bit pricey, but you pay for the convenience, and the fire pits outside were extremely enjoyable. Note: roasting marshmallows is not okay; it's a fire hazard. The manager had to come tell us that -- luckily after most of the kids had an opportunity to make a smore ;) I used the fitness room for a quick workout on one of the days and was thankful for that... The bath/shower was fine too. They use Crabree & Evelyn bath products. Note: they will get you with paid parking - either self or valet, but most hotels do that! All in all, a positive experience. read more

Matin and Adib handled valet, and they were incredibly fast and welcoming. It was nice to see such friendly faces after a long trip. At the front desk, Amir was amazing. so professional and kind. We've stayed at a lot of the Hilton properties in the area, and this was by far the best experience. Pleased with all the regular amenities- safe parking experience, clean room, friendly service at checkin, excellent housekeeping, comfortable bed, quiet room and no external noise from the window (in other hotels we've had issues with street noise). We didn't try the food or the pool but the pool area looked quite nice. I will definitely stay here again when in the area, as long as it's not during an event- I heard from residents that it can get very loud since it's right next to the event grounds. The only downside is the $30 parking fee. read more

My son stayed here with his high school Varsity basketball team for a tournament. There were a few other teams staying at this hotel. A few players from another team threatened to enter my son and his teammate's room while they were gone and trash it. Our coach went to the front desk to alert to staff and get the room keys changed. The team left for their game and went to eat afterwards. Upon arrival back to the hotel, my son's room had been entered and ransacked and the beds were drenched with water. We complained to the hotel staff and the manager on duty, Lorenzo took zero accountability and made me (the parent) feel like it was our kids fault because they were "loud" earlier in the day. Having my son's hotel room broken into and the hotel take zero responsibility is not acceptable. I will never stay at that specific hotel again and will avoid Hilton Hotels altogether and stay with Marriott where the customer service is far better. read more

The balcony door cut my hand bad and they don't do nothing about it. I can't even use my hand it just breaks open and bleeds. They lost my item left in the room. I went back 2 days later and they didn't have them 300$ in items just gone. Also when we checked in we were told to go to the back of the hotel knowing we had lots of things and the elevator was in the front . We carried all our things to the back and couldn't find an elevator. I had to leave my family walk to the front to tell them and they switch us rooms because it was close to where we were. We stayed here last week for just one night. Let me say this first. Three stars because I don't think the price of the hotel room and food met the quality they charged. Everyone who worked at the hotel was very nice and accommodating, but the room was very stuff and had a moldy smell to it. The sheets and towels smelled the same. We got a two queen bed and one bed was soft and nicer than the other. My wife and I just didn't feel totally comfortable in the room. The pool towels were super rough and old and I found a spider in mine. The pool was nice and clean and the area and grounds where kept up and clean same with the hotel and outdoor seating area. We did eat at the restaurant and our server was good and the food was not that great. We got the flash fried chicken sandwich and my wife got the burger. Their ranch dressing is amazing though! I'm not sure if we would come back to this particular Hilton. But May try another Hilton again. read more

PROS: - Check-in process was a breeze. - Dog friendly hotel! - Huge parking lot. - The lobby was very spacious and clean. - The rooms were also very clean. I had no issues with anything inside. - Located a few miles away from the beach/ocean. - Del Mar fair grounds are a walk away. - Many eateries and grocery stores nearby. CONS: - Why is there only 1 elevator? - Located right next to a freeway, so it gets quite loud of you have a room facing in that direction. FINAL THOUGHTS: - If you've got a room towards the back of the hotel, and you've got a ton of stuff to bring up, you're either going to be doing a lot of walking just trying to get to the ONE elevator. OR... you're gonna give your legs a good workout going up those stairs. read more

First of all: HUGE ROOMS!!! I've been staying at this Hilton for the duration of the fair (30 days) for the past 10 years. This is my favorite hotel to stay at because while it has the commodities of a large hotel, it feels quiet and safe. Perfect for a beach getaway. Some of the commodities Karmina and the rest of the staff treat you like family. Everyone is very accommodating and friendly. The courtyard pool and outdoor seating are perfect for the beautiful Southern California weather. It's walking distance from the fair, the Fish Market (restaurant), and a Whole Foods marketplace as well as a small outdoor shopping center. One of the best hiltons I've stayed at. Would give 0 if I could. Be prepared to pay $33 at minimum for parking a night, they won't tell you this prior to the reservation. Breakfast is $25-$50 per person, water is $8 per bottle, to use the coffee maker they charge you, no microwave, our room filled with ants, stained bathtub. We paid for a king suite! we aren't picky people and we've paid more for hotels and got a lot out of it. We were sad and it was truly overpriced for what you got. Never again..not to mention thin walls and people screaming all night. read more

Nice hotel in a great location. Right across the street from the race track and a short drive to the beach. The hotel itself is very nice, clean, and has somewhat of a resort feel to it...the rooms are spacious and relatively quiet with the exception of the North side of hotel where you can hear the road noise from the adjacent highway...the pool is large and goes from 3.5 feet to 5 feet in depth. There is also a large hot tub adjacent to the pool but for whatever reason the timer was broken, therefore it became more of a wading pool as the water was significantly warmer than the pool. There is an in room coffee maker but there is no included breakfast in the rate...there is also a ridiculous 33 dollar nightly parking charge, that they add tax to!!! unbelievable and unnecessary as there is ample parking on the property....thankfully i secured the rate through hotwire so i didn't pay the rack rate, unfortunately any savings were lost through the parking fee and lack of included breakfast...slight recommendation read more

Not well managed. Pros: The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a great location. A little outside of the busy city, but near a lot of cool places. Cons: I booked this hotel instead of some of the places around the area because, on their site, it claims to have an executive lounge. I pick places with executive lounges specifically because I am part of their loyalty program and since I get access to the lounge, a lot of times I get free breakfast and snacks during the evening. Usually includes juices and drinks, which is a great benefit. Unfortunately it is not true. I asked the front desk where the lounge was and he told me that they closed it when Covid-19 hit and turned the lounge into a gym. This means they have closed it for a year and a half and still advertise to have it now. The next item is the shower. The shower knob was partially broken with a piece of it hanging off. The shower still works, but it just looks bad. The drain block was broken and the piece was just laying on the side of the tub. Probably should replace it or at least remove it since it's just weird to just be sitting there in the tub detached from the drain. The final and biggest problem was their cleaning service. The hotel has a checkout time of up to 12 PM. With that in mind, I decided to not check out in the morning. I wanted to try to go on a hike with my wife in the morning and return to take a shower and nap for a bit before heading home. We returned to the hotel at 10 AM. When we arrived at the room, to our surprise, all the towels, sheets, and pillowcases were removed. The cleaning crew came by and cleaned our room by just removing all of these items and leaving. We did not check out yet, so I assumed we should still get to use our room until the check-out time. read more

The concierge Natalie was awesome ! Facilitated a quick and smooth check in, great customer service, she pays attention to what's going on. It was my birthday weekend and my wife and I attended a local Food & Wine festival. After returning to the room and mentioning this to her were were sent complimentary champagne ! We also spent time in the more private Jacuzzi area. Staying here was a pleasure and I'd definitely do it again ! read more

Was supposed to go to a cheaper motel but decided to stay here instead because wanted to be closer to our destination. Upon arriving I was starting to have second thoughts, hotel looked below avg/dated when I got my room, I was completely disgusted. Room/hotel is very out dated, filthy(carpet, walls, bedsheets), and smells am very disappointed. We wanted to change hotels but we just said screw it now we know not to stay here next time. We have stayed on this hotel twice and the hotel has so much potential! It is a great property and is in a great location. The lobby and restaurants are pretty clean and food is good. The rooms need to definitely be updated. In our room (1049), the sink overflow drain had brown yucky stuff, which I assume is mildew, the soap holder was rusting, the windows in the room didn't lock and had a draft coming through. Like I said in the beginning, this hotel has potential, but needs to be maintained and updated! Oh the $33.00 a night to park even though your a guest staying there is a little much! read more
