Hotel has been updated. Room was well appointed and clean. Good bed. Young lady at Check in very pleasant and helpful. We checked in June 24 in afternoon and departed on June 26 at around 9 am. Cons: security at elevators that required rm. Key for entry was Out..anyone could enter end exit rm. floors. At checkout the Lady at front desk never said a word to me. I told her my room # and that I was checking out. She handed me my bill and turned away. No word was spoken. Never have had this occur ever. read more

Very nice hotel for road-weary travelers. Only complaint was the inhouse food; we ordered off the menu to eat in the room and it was bland and overpriced-$15 for breakfast buffet as well. In town for the basketball tournament for my oldest daughter and we stayed here. This particular location is close to the Iowa West Field House (less than 1/2 mile) and various restaurants as well. I stayed here for a few days during their remodel so there was only one entrance into the hotel, which was through the casino entrance which meant that parking wasn't the best since you weren't close at all. The rooms were nice, I will say that, I had a king bed and it was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, modern and I didn't have any issues w the water pressure or temp. The workout room was depressing looking the treadmill was out of service, they had 2 ellipticals (1 was only working), 1 peloton, free weight sets, a few weighted balls and a yoga ball. Customer service was good and friendly as they were sitting by the banquet room as you walk towards the elevator. read more

Have stayed here multiple times and have really enjoyed myself. The rooms are clean and updated and the beds are very comfortable. You can check in via the app and never even visit the front desk. It is on the expensive side though. read more

Stayed for 4 days the first time and 4 this time. My first experience here i had a shower only and was on 3rd floor. Hot water in the morning was sometimes non existent. I stayed this time on 2nd floor and had shower bath and water was perfect. Room temp was good and it's close to the casino. read more

Slightly dated, yet comfortable nonetheless. This was my overall impression of this HGI property that I booked late while traveling through blizzard conditions from Fargo, ND to Omaha, NE in early 2020. While I usually stay in downtown Omaha, I wanted to try something completely different due to my southern travel trajectory. Hence my choice on staying in Council Bluffs, IA, which is literally next door. Upon arrival, I was slightly confused on where to park due to the hotel being connected to a casino (both lots are conjoined, so no big deal). Due to my midnight arrival, the signage wasn't that easy to read due to several light posts not being on at the time. Even with a good amount of people staying at the hotel, I found the overall area surprisingly quiet given that I anticipated a lot of folks going to and from the casino. The room itself was standard 90s-style of reddish brown wood finished furniture, white painted walls. Nothing special, yet the room was clean. I didn't have enough time to enjoy the amenities, yet the breakfast choices within the restaurant pre-pandemic were enjoyable. Customer service from the front desk was up to high standards. There didn't appear to be many restaurants nearby that were within walking distance. They are there, yet you'll have to drive a bit to reach them. As far as interstate access, the hotel is probably only two turns away (its reasonably quick access). read more

The room was clean enough. Pool was clean, elevators worked fine, simple check in, good customer service. The a/c quit cooling in the middle of the night, and the fridge door wouldnt stay closed, so it started to defrost and lose its ice during the night. The continental breakfast was going to coat 8.95. And they didnt have any gluten free options for my daughter, so that waas a wash. I mean, for a quick one night stay on the road it was fine, we just didnt sleep well due to the heat and fridge. Didnt feel like we couns call the front desk at 2am to come fix the a/c so we managed. Cleaning staff had just finished our room when we checked in, it was fine, and the staff was very friendly. Front desk staff had great communication and banter during check in, and very friendly during check out. Breakfast crew was apologetic about no special dietary items, also very friendly. read more

Sooooooooo... First the things that need some improvement...the rooms are slightly dated. They have an early 2000s feel. The bathroom needs some TLC. The walk-in shower floor could use a good scrubbing and a hit of some mold/mildew remover/preventer. And the bathroom doorway seriously needs a paint job. The good...quiet, I had no issue parking and since it is adjacent to a (rinkydink) casino, there is actually plenty of parking. Folks on here complaining about parking are writing about the parking available DIRECTLY in front of the lobby entrance. Listen, it is not uncommon to have limited parking in front of the door. Come on! There is a TON of parking spaces just steps away. There is a little walk to get to the elevator which was really only an issue because I had bunch of stuff and nothing that rolled so that may just be a me" issue. The food was just OK. The rooms show signs of wear and tear, furniture in particular. Clean, none the less. Breakfast staff was on the ball, a bit pricey, but very generous portions. Dinner/bar; wine comes in a tiny glass.....for me, hard to enjoy. I ordered a Ceasar, no croutons (Celiacs).....the kitchen set it out loaded with croutons. I removed them (I went send my food back to a kitchen where I'm not cooking) and hoped for te best. read more

We have stayed here many times in the past and liked how well kept the place was. Dial forward a year and it's a different place. Staff are still pleasant and helpful but the facilities are filthy and poorly maintained. Elevator had the same dirt / dust in the corner our entire stay. Restaurant was not much better. Appears some food (bacon, sausages) were left overs. My partner asked for two fried eggs, hard. They came over easy and runny. I know good help is hard to find, so maybe Management should invest in better pay to keep or hire good people. Sorry Hilton. We are going to the Marriott from now on. read more

Don't you hate it when you get to a hotel, a brand you stay in every week across the country, and they have your reservation but nothing else about you. No honors number or profile. You spend 20 minutes checking in and giving them credit card info etc. You know, stuff a profile has in it. Once she found me her tone changed and all of a sudden I was her best friend. The hotel? Ya, well sleeper beware that this hotel is attached to a casino. So imagine the noise in the lobby and bar area as peopled treat it like a party place and hotel staff did nothing about it. So much for eating dinner here. And if you had to park in BFE because they can't control the parking lot, casino, and then they want you to walk all the way back out to your car after coming into the hotel to rest where they give you a ticket/pass to put on your dash. How inconvenient is that. Bull crap. I just walked as ll that way in rain to learn they couldn't find me in their system. This is a newer Hilton with modern furnishings and decorations and nice rooms. It is clean and well maintained throughout. We ended up getting a handicapped accessible room because it was the only king bed available. The room itself was great; it was clean and nicely furnished. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable! It was an adjustable bed, allowing you to dial in your preferred level of softness or firmness. We adjusted the bed to make it softer, but it never seemed to make any different. The bed was much too firm and my wife and I didn't sleep very well as a result. Our room also had a walk-in, handicap accessible shower. This was awkward to use because the shower head was pointed into the corner were the shower seat was located. The cafe in the lobby served breakfast the next day. The cost for the breakfast buffet was $9.95 a person. It was a good buffet with many hot and cold options. They offered made to order omelets, pancakes, French toast and other items. Food was served fast and fresh. It was a good value for the money. Staff was friendly and eager to help throughout the hotel. We would have been very happy with our stay if it wasn't for the uncomfortable bed. We did tell them about the bed when we checked out and they comped our breakfast for us, which was really nice. read more

This hotel has a lot of great things going for it including great dining on site, being attached to a casino, and have a great staff. The downside to this location is the parking that is dedicated to the hotel patrons. If you do not check in before 4 pm forget about a parking space in the hotel lot. You will have to park in the general parking lot a little ways away from the entrance. The rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is less than a year old so there are all the new comforts that one would expect. I would give it 5 stars but the parking kills it for me. read more

This hotel is very popular and busy on the weekends, which is when I stayed here. My first introduction to the hotel upon arrival, was a screaming mother shouting at her two kids in the lobby like she was in a gymnasium. It was so loud, trashy and obnoxious it seemed staged, but it wasn't! They were checking out, otherwise I might have offered directions to the local Super 8 motel. My room was nice, but I was constantly being distracted that night by a multi family horde of kids running up and down the hall and banging the doors on the deadbolt. Where were the parents? Unknown. The front desk was contacted, but I didn't see a drop in the hall activity. When I checked out the next day, I saw a couple complain about the lift on the hot tub being inoperative during their stay. Their room was comped because of the inconvenience. In repeating my stay experience at check out, I only received a, "sorry about that". read more

Disappointed- we arrived after midnight from 11 hours on the road. Travelling with kids so didn't care about casino, just needed a place to sleep so we could get up early and make it to a family reunion. One of the toilet seat bolts had come off, so the seat was askew, the parts were there and we could have fixed it but, really? Two beds in our room and one sounded like it had been previously rented by the hour- squeaking with each move our sons made, which woke all of us throughout the night. Front desk staff in the morning didn't offer an apology, or promise to remedy these issues for the next guest, or even eye contact really. Our server at breakfast, Cyndi, was very personable and kind, earning an additional star for this property. We chose Hiltons normally but not this one again. read more

Almost all rooms are two queen beds. Rooms are small but newer. Complimentary drinks on some nights and friendly staff. One sink and small counter in bathrooms. Parking is hooooorrible! Keep that in mind if it is cold. You might find yourself walking across several parking lots. Then, you check in and have to head right back out there to put a tag in your window. Room service is really strange. Not available at all until late in the day, then shuts off early. Was there on a weekend, and it was super loud kids running around hallways and stomping from floors above. Keys stopped working during the middle of our stay. Harrah's and Ameristar's rooms are much more enjoyable to stay in. read more

I didn't realize this hotel was connected to a casino. I just needed to crash for the night because I was flying out early the next morning. Staff tried to help me find another Hilton near the airport but they were too expensive. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Oddly enough, my room spelled like saw dust though (even odder that I know what saw dust smells like). In the end, the room had a bed, a bathroom, a fridge, and a fitness center; so I am good. I must say, they have the nicest, biggest gym I have seen at a hotel (I travel for work and I see a lot of hotels). They have a row machine! True story. If you want to party at a casino in Iowa all night, hit up a row machine, and be 12 minutes away from the Omaha airport... this is the place to be. read more

We were disappointed with this location. The refrigerator started making loud noise in the middle of the night.. had to get up and move it a lot to get it to stop for a short time wasn't going to call to get relocated at 2 am ( we were not people that were visiting or participating at the casino) . The front desk personnel were not friendly or accommodating . We went to get breakfast only to find out it wasn't part of room rate. The buffet breakfast that they were going to serve us the exact same as what you would get at a two star hotel. Every Hilton hotel we have stayed at had a complimentary continental breakfast even with COVID 19 and at that location the hospitality staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was to the Hilton standards. This Council Bluffs location fell way short and not a place I would recommend that you stop. For what this location was going to charge for their buffet breakfast it wasn't a made to order breakfast! 5 stars for the room. Bed is wonderful and a nice tv and fridge. Great bathroom and work/sitting area. Now for the bad. The hotel restaurant's food is fare but very overpriced! Plus the service is lousy. I was the only one at the restaurant this evening and waited 45 minutes for my food. I know because I near watched a whole episode of CSI at the bar area while a waited. Also I'm holding a seminar here and the communication among the staff is very poor. No one shares information. They didn't even know I was conducting class in one of the rooms! Terrible... Stay for the room and for how close it is to the Horseshoe Casino but don't expect great food and bev service. Not happening...Avoid the restaurant and you're ok. read more

One of the nicest, friendliest, cleanest Hilton Garden Inn's I've stayed at. We used to stay at the downtown HGI but they were always so crabby so we started trying this one, and couldn't be happier with our decision. The staff always treats us like family, Jimmy, the front desk manager, knows us by name and is so pleasant to work with. The rooms are updated. This king room has granite counter tops, and walk-in tile shower in the bathroom. The hotel is conveniently connected to the Horseshoe casino if you wanted to play the slots while you are in town. I highly suggest staying with this hotel if you have the option over the HGI downtown. read more

Traveling across country, Triple A plotted out my trip and recommended this. Unwittingly, assuming it would be okay as it was a Hilton Garden Inn, I made the reservation. I then found myself going into a dilapidated warehouse area with a number of hotels located around a cheesy casino. Unfortunately, this property is attached to the Casino. The check in experience was a nightmare: a sullen poorly groomed young man who kept me waiting for about 10 minutes over a customer that lacked any reservation information. The clerk refused to make eye contact, gave me no information, and then seemed confused when I asked for clarification about the microscopic parking lot surrounded by questionable traffic for the casino. The hallways were dark, dank, and filled with guests that made me feel unsafe. The restaurant was deserted, and while the confused waitress was pleasant, the food wasn't great (e.g. browning iceberg lettuce in the salad.) Breakfast wasn't great; an overcooked omelet and rock hard under ripe sliced melon. The morning check out clerk/assistant manager, 20 years my junior, called me "buddy" three times as I paid my bill. The hotel room charge was $300 for the night. Never imagined I'd say I should have stayed at the Hampton Inn instead, but this was a HUGE mistake. Well this was going to be a 4 star review until I checked out this morning. When I checked out I had paid for 2 rooms but accidentally charged breakfast to a room I didn't want to charge breakfast to. When I asked the front desk person to move the charge to my other room he stated that that for him to move one charge to another bill would be "t a lot of extra paperwork for him" WHAT? Seriously because it is too much work for you you can't move it...so after staring at both of my receipts for an extended period of time...I needed to catch a flight so I asked him to give the receipts back to me. Well heaven forbid that anyone ask this man to do work while he is at work...extra paperwork? Come on now. Granted this is not a 5 star hotel but service is service. The sad thing is everything was pretty good before I checked out...I did end up calling the hotel and oddly enough the wonderful young lady who had checked me in earlier in the week was so apologetic and stated she would change everything for me when she spoke to her manager. The good -Most of the staff are very accommodating and and very friendly -They have a nice lobby area -They have some level of room service The bad -They are located and attached right next to a casinos. I hate casinos (for instance I think Las Vegas is not my first on the list for a vacation). -Because they are located right next to a casino the hotel parking is miserable. Of the 3 days out of the 5 days I was there I parked almost 2 lots away (I parked really far- late at night by myself...I did not feel safe...in a lot full of cars in the dark in lots that are poorly lit) you have to have a little permit to park in the lot dedicated to the hotel, well that only works when the hotel police that all cars that park in their lot actually have the permit....I saw several cars that did not have the permits but were parked in the lot daily. -There is nothing really around except for the casino, several gas stations and a Ruby Tuesdays, Hooters and Quaker State. They do offer a shuttle to the Old World Market area. -The elevators are so slow....we had made a joke when you say that you'll be down in 5 minutes it really means 15 minutes. Everyone was late daily due to the elevators. Overall an average hotel they lost stars for the employee that did not want to work when I checked out and the Casino location. read more

This is just an okay hotel. They want to make you to think that it's an upscale hotel. , it is not. The shuttle will take you downtown, but getting them to pick you up is almost impossible. Waited over an hour for the shuttle to pick us up, ended up taking an Uber to get back to the hotel. The shuttle service is horrible. The service is horrible read more

There should be 3 or 4 $$$$ instead of the two. It's 249.99$ a night for two queens. That's fine I'm sure it's nice but a bit misleading when trying to book rooms on the fly , on the road. read more
