Ummm I if you can afford $100 NIGHLY for incidentals and love the Hilton brand that much, then by all means 5 stars and nighty night. No free breakfast for a $200 nightly stay, it's $11. All the comforts you would expect of Hilton Garden Inn's. I did notice NONE of the staff mentioned the $100 NIGHTLY incidentals fees, this important information would have stuck in my head as they checked in guests. Nor did they mention breakfast was at cost, just its time. I bet as a front desk staff, to maintain a good day they just say "We need a card to hold for incidentals." What a dump! We stayed for 1 night. This is the view we got. Bird crap all over the windows, and stopped up drainage area. The bathroom came with the wall attached shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. The shower gel and shampoo bottles were empty. They left us with 2 rolls of tp on the holder, both no more than 1/4 full, and no replacement rolls. The place seems nice when you pull up. Typical HGI, but this room at least needs help, a deep cleaning, and housekeeping to do a QC on rooms to make sure room is stocked for next guest. I'm giving them a lower score, not zero, only because there is ample parking, and walking distance to Cracker Barrel, Applebee's and a few other places. That was handy since they do not provide free breakfast like many other hotels in the same catagory. read more

Out of all the hotels we stayed at on our vacation, this Hilton Garden has truly been the best and most amazing stay. This property is very peaceful, and very clean. The rooms were clean. The beds were super comfortable, and there was no noise. We slept SOOO good! Shauna the front office manager truly was wonderful, kind, welcoming and made our stay exceptional. Kindness does go a long way and the staff here were genuinely nice and friendly. She was very helpful on re-directing us to the best places to eat in town. Jonathan the young clerk in training was also very sweet and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here and will always come back when passing through. This was a good place to stay and has a bar/restaurant on-site with tacos that I recommend. The stay was as-expected for a Hilton. We were, however, disappointed that the pool and gym were unavailable due to renovation (oh well, it did warn me that renovations were happening when I booked it). How does a handicap accessible room have a tub and not a walk in shower? The television did not come on so I called for assistance which took 20 minutes. For the tv to come on you not only have to hit the power button on remote but reach under the tv and turn on another button , but no instructions in the room to do so. This inn is conveniently located off the 40, surrounded by other hotels, restaurants and commerce. Our third floor suite overlooked a massive Home Depot parking lot, with a Walmart visible to the west. The space was fantastic and welcome; we were on the first leg of a cross-country move with two cats (yep, we paid the hefty fee to have them in the room) and they were able to work out some energy. They really did enjoy the vista of Home Depot. The front lobby had a small luggage cart that was great for moving their cage. The entry room includes a fold out bed, chair, TV, and kitchenette-bar with a mini fridge (no freezer) and coffee pot. There is an attached bathroom. The bedroom has another TV and a larger bathroom with a shower and separate jetted tub. The shower got hot fast and had great water pressure, but the door didn't completely close and so some water puddled outside. The hairdryer had a strong burnt popcorn smell but worked as intended. My husband used the exercise room and found key equipment to be broken or missing, and there only two towels available. There were no wipes to cleanse things. We didn't have issues with noises within the hotel, but trains could be heard through the night and it sounded like someone used a leaf blower in the Home Depot lot from about 3 to 3:30AM. Check out was fast in the morning, and we again used a cart to move our cats and gear to the car. read more

I travel a lot for work. I've been Hilton Diamond for six years (after achieving lifetime Marriott status after 10+ years of 75+ nights a year). I'm not saying this to brag, I'm simply letting you know how many nights I've stayed at hotels, and why I'm giving five stars. The customer service cannot be beat. Everyone was SO nice. The fourth week of my stay when I checked in, I was greeted by name. For someone with almost 20 years of traveling under her belt, I've never been treated so kindly as the staff did here. So appreciated! Rooms are very clean and very well kept. Cleaner rooms than in New York City or Atlanta or Miami or Chicago. And, if you've read this far, my coworker and I sat in the restaurant area in the morning on our laptops the first week I was here from 10-2 and noticed there are several employees that clean up the lobby/restaurant and stock the pantry after breakfast that have developmental disabilities. Much respect for this property. The way they maintain it and run it. Highly recommend if you are on your way through and need a place to stay. read more

I have had a nice one week stay in this HGI conveniently located off the interstate. It is well kept and the employees from the front desk to housekeeping are friendly. I especially appreciate the clean guest laundry with a window instead of the usual dingy rooms in many other properties. I have only used the restaurant/bar once and the experience was fine. If the short menu is not to your liking, Applebee's is a few steps away on the other side of the parking lot and Cracker Barrel a short block away. I've stayed here numerous times as I travel for work. I stay at the garden Inn all over the country. They all have a breakfast buffet or order off the menu. Well this location in Gallup decides they no longer gonna have a buffet so for you to have breakfast you have to order off their high price menu so by the time you order eggs, fruit, cold cereal, and a milk you're a $25 and I refuse to pay $25 for breakfast so I will no longer stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Gallup, New Mexico. I could stay at the Hampton Inn, which is also Hilton and get a free breakfast so as long as you don't mind paying a high price for breakfast, the rooms are nice, but I'll never stay there again. read more

During our cross country trek we stopped in Gallop at the Hilton Garden Inn. As we pulled up I was surprised at the size, it's a large hotel with plenty of parking, oversized lobby and large space. We made the reservation via Hilton App, arrived at 4 pm and was quickly and efficiently checked in by a pleasant young lady. Our room was large, bathroom well stocked and we had the added bonus of ordering room service starting at 5 pm. We picked up the food at the front lobby. Found that they accounted for everything (utensils, condiments, etc) in our order. Food was very good as well. The entire experience and staff were so nice, from our check-in, food order pickup, check-out. When we ordered from the onsite restaurant, the person said that she would call us when it was ready, and like clock work, we got her call that it was ready. Very Nice touch and efficient! In fact my wife commented "this is really a step up from the hotels we stayed at previously". The entire stay was just perfect. They also have onsite security in the parking lot to ensure everyone's stuff is safe. If there is one thing we'd like to suggest as an improvement, it would be to have a grass or non rocky area out back for pets. So clean and pretty! First not the friendliest , ok but seems dry. I asked about food suggestions. She didn't even sell me on their special burger on the board. Cost 180ish and with taxes 220.00. We saw lots of other around but wanted a nicer one. This has a restaurant and a full bar. Good location off interstate. I was so happy until I layed on bed! We had driven all day, so you know my body needed to lay down. Hard and I mean hard as a rock. More than just firm.....lol So disappointed!! Only thing good about it is staying only 1 night. This was our first hotel stay out of many in next few days. May need to mark this name off my recommendation list. read more

First, I placed a reservation online. The site kept changing the amount of ppl in my party from 5 to 1. So when I bought the breakfast included, the hotel said only one of us would eat. I'm a single parent with kids. Of course, I didn't eat myself and leave my kids in the room smh. Paid for food for nothing. Second, the clerk was extremely snot mouthed. She did not want to accommodate anything and I told her I would be babysitting for about 2 hours, she said I couldn't unless I buy another room. I bought another room (not connecting) just so I can baby sit for 2 hours. She said there's too many people that abuse the swimming pool and that's the only reason I needed to buy another room. (Since I bought another room, I just told my brother his wife and two kids to join us.) so we decided we would see how the pool is.... It's well over crowded. Oh, let me tell you about the 10 ppl who snuck in. My kids and I left because kids were unattended. One almost drowned and I had to help him up, a couple kids were jumping in the hot tub!!!! Smh!!!! Worst!!! Overall, I was upset the service was bad and making me buy another room but theirs 10 ppl going swimming for free! Worst ever! The room was nice... but not worth the price ($200+) read more

Overall, it was a horrible experience. Upon check-in (well after 4pm, check in is advertised at 3pm) I was informed my room was not ready. Waited 15 minutes. 20 minutes. Asked at front desk and was told the receptionist forgot to tell housekeeping I was waiting on that specific room, so I had to wait another 15 minutes at least. I asked to just be put in a different room, so they gave me a different room. Overall, it took me over an hour for check in and again, this was well after 3pm. I was finally checked in around 5pm. Hilton shouldn't ask honors members during early check in to pick their own room if they won't have the room ready by normal check in time. Get rid of this service if you aren't going to honor it. Also, upon checkout, there were a ton of grill and bar charges to my room that I did not actually use. Those had to all be refunded. Does the hotel just not check ID or verify that an individual using the bar/grill is actually the guest registered for that room? Overall, this was the worst experience I have ever had with a Hilton hotel. I will never stay at this location again. read more

We stayed here over the holidays. Great location, right next to I-40 and Hwy 491, but set off the roads a little. There is a in-house restaurant with good food. A bar that made good margs, had local NM draft beers, and the bartenders/servers were friendly and efficient. The hotel accepted two dogs; with a one-time pet fee. (Not per dog, per night. Worst Hilton I've ever been too! Had better stays at Motel 6. Paid $250 a night to literally have to pay $16.99 for the continental breakfast. I made the mistake of adding it to the room when I reserved, a complete waste of money! I just paid $12 for one Activia yogurt. The one hot tray they had was empty. Milk for my coffee was empty. Staff was rude and unhelpful. If you're charging this much at least make it look like the pictures you post that encourage customers to buy the Buffett. Don't know what it is about Hilton and New Mexico, but my stays at their propeties there have been ANYTHING but the great service I am used to getting from the Hilton brand. I like staying at HGI because when u book on their site there is usually an option to buy a hot breakfast with ur room and that can save time for me while traveling. While checking in I specifically asked if I was getting a paper coupon from them or was there a list that I am supposed to reference when telling the morning people about my breakfast. I was told there was a list and in the morning I would be on it. K. Went to my room, noticed I was short towels and that the bathroom amenities were DEF not what u see at ANY Hilton branded hotel (see pic). Of the 3 items pictured 2 of them are what I normally see at Rodeway Inn when forced to stay at one. TV channels were shite as usual and way too much light came in the windows at night, so there is that working against them as well. Anyway morning arrives and when I show for breakfast of course there is NO list, just some newbie asking about my Honors membership (which by the way has NOTHING to do with me buying breakfast with my room). Went and bitched at the Front Desk help to straighten out my breakfast situation. Got a great breakfast with lousy service. Had to beg for a drink, salt and pepper, and silverware just to eat. Looking at their menu (other pic) Hilton should be ASHAMED at charging $10 for their crap continental breakfast. Overall one of the most pitiful HGI experiences I've had and counting stays in Albuquerque at Hilton brands, New Mexico as a whole apparently one of the worst states to stay in a Hilton property. read more

We pulled into the Hilton Saturday evening (Labor Day Weekend) after traveling through several states. This is the ONLY hotel that would charge for a continental breakfast and coffee that was available at every other hotel we stopped for free during our two week drive. Breakfast buffet is entirely odd. There is a server who asks for your name to see if you get a free breakfast. You order French toast, eggs, omelette, bacon, sausage, and hash browns from the server. But you must get your own cereal, yogurt, toast, coffee, juices, and make your own waffles. Try not to mind the server also cleaning and moving tables around while you are eating. There is a sign saying $10.95 breakfast buffet. Happy hour (5-8pm) is awesome, especially with Dustin bar tending, draft beers are $5. The dinner specials and dinner menu are reasonable. Except for the bartender, the staff of servers are odd. We had the brisket flatbread pizza and some brews for dinner appetizers. There is a nice selection of beers on tap from popular and NM breweries. The poutine and the carbonara looked good. We'll try those next. With just a few tweaks, this place could have one of the finest restaurants in Gallup. Just be sure to give them feedback about their service. read more

My review was taken down - wonder why? Our room had dirty, stained carpet and overall the room did not feel clean. Person at check-in was brusque and not friendly. We were offered two bottles of warm water from a container on the floor. Not the usual greeting we usually receive as Hilton Honors members. The most insulting part of our experience was the $5.00 charge for a "dirty" washcloth. I was not aware that you could not use the washcloths. I would understand if perhaps I had used makeup but that was not the case. First and last stay at a Hilton Garden Inn. Wonder if this will be removed again. read more

Absolutely horrible service . Air conditioner didn't work , they don't apply a military discount if your a rewards member. To get breakfast you have to order it off there menu which takes forever . Or you can get the continental breakfast for $10 a person which includes those garbage cereal boxes and some muffins. Also coffee maker didn't work . They are unwilling to accommodate us with these problems and all they said was "sorry I cannot change the fare " this proves they don't care about customer service, our military , and the bottom line price is all they care about . They said manager might be in today or tomorrow which is weird because I would imagine most hotels have a manager on site ..... this was not worth the $266 dollars for ONE NIGHT! This killed it for me with Hilton hotels . I hope you guys don't waste your money or time here and go for a cheaper hotel with better service .! read more

Everyone at this hotel was fantastic. We stayed one night driving x-country, and this is the only hotel I've ever felt the need to compliment. The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and efficient. When we requested an extra towel, he was at our door within 30 seconds flat. The lady at the restaurant/bar was also friendly and on the ball, and unlike some other Garden Inns, this one had good food and wine selection served promptly. Lastly, the cleaning staff actually took the time to insert the trash bags properly--it may seem like a little thing, but it's a giant petpeeve of mine when the bag is draped over the top so nothing fits in, and 99% of all staff half-ass it. So this hotel did great across the board and the management is doing a great job in hiring and training. read more

We had a large closet which had a iron and ironing board ready to use for guest convenience. Even had an extra blanket in case stored on top shelf. The shower was big along with the bathroom. We don't usually stay at Hilton brand but the Holiday Inn Express was booked up. The pool and whirlpool are still closed, unfortunately but the vending machines were in working order as well as the ice machines, Fortunately for us the dining room at the hotel was open till 10pm! And had a steak deal. We tried to eat at the Applebee's next door but they closed before their stated 10pm for inside dining. It was 930pm, sheesh! Our room was quiet, had a microwave, in room coffee/tea, fridge, desk and was very clean. My only tiny complaint was the bed was a tad hard, but I slept well. Breakfast was great and our server was friendly and helpful. The coffee was the best I've had this trip! read more

Hilton Garden Inn has a beautiful lobby and welcoming staff. The receptionist ask if the 3rd floor was ok and I said sure, as long as we're kind of close to the elevator. We were kind of surprised when we went up stairs to our room and found it was the VERY LAST room on the wing. Oh well. There is a smell to this hotel that is obvious on arrival. It smells like old dirty mop water or dirty carpets. Our room had the same smell, yuck. Due to being exhausted from our ten hour drive I sucked it up and went on with getting settled. I was told the hotel was built in late 2014. Wow, it just doesn't look like it's that new. See pictures attached. The linens are old and gray, the bedding is the same. The TV in our room was horrible. Not many HD channels and the regular channels are hard to see, maybe due to reception. Really disappointed, won't go back. read more

This hotel has a great staff, great outdoor area for dining and relaxing, a very clean fitness room and pool as well as a top notch room and amenities. The bar has a small but nice selection, including craft beers from local breweries. Other hotels should look up to the wonderful standard the Hilton brand has proven to be top notch, again and again. I came in around 7 o'clock at night, very tired and hoping to get a good nights rest. The clerk at the desk was so gracious and smiling and friendly. I told him I was a senior at Tripoli Amber and Hilton member so he said the Hilton price was the best. He looked up my account and said he could give me the points so he took my points and he said after the points the charge was $205 for one night plus tax, around 218. I was too tired to argue When I got to my room, I realized 195 to 205 was the average price for the room before being a member or a discount. That put it up to 218... Where is my discount and my points? My room was very comfortable, but not the normal U USB plug-in by the bed, no plastic glasses to drink out of, only paper, coffee cup type cups. No free breakfast I find out, you can pay for breakfast at the restaurant. There were two bottles of water in the room. clearly marked they were there because I was a member... That must be the $18 that I paid over yeah average price. The linens were nice but didn't fit enough to stay tucked in to the bed I'm not sure I've ever felt more ripped off by a property then I was here. I think I'm done with Hilton. I get much better value and Choice Hotels. read more

Stopped overnight during a road trip and stayed in a two room suite. The door between rooms didn't close. Neither did the shower door causing a flood in the bathroom. In addition, there was no manager on duty and the front desk person had no idea how to handle a service dog (thus violating/attempting to violate) ADA rights. I asked for an email or phone call and didn't hear back. The last thing is that apparently there is a high crime rate. Car alarms were going off all night long in the alley parking behind the hotel where our room backed up to. We normally do not stay at HGI and will be avoiding them in the future. read more

My daughter's and I work locally in Gallup but live very rural. Due to the recent snow storm we decided for our safety to stay in town. My coworker also stayed with us. We were able to reserve a room immediately. The staff were amazing. They checked us in quickly. THey asked if I was a Hilton Honors member. Which I am and quickly entered my info. They were very friendly when we walked in. Let us know about the breakfast in the morning. Which was absolutely amazing. The prices were very cheap and the server was so sweet. We stayed 2 nights and the room was so comfortable. It was warm and clean. The shower was wonderful! And access to the pool and other amenities were easy to navigate! I do not know what the issue is, but when we stayed here there was a bad sewer smell. Worse when taking the elevator.

Room was nice I'll give it that. Staff wasn't very pleasant. Room wasn't ready when I arrived after 5pm. I had to leave for over an hour waiting for the room. Got zero apology or a thank you for that. Didn't get the complimentary bag of waters and snacks that was given to other guests, not that I expected it but I then had to pay $2 per bottle of water in the room. Continental breakfast is not complimentary but you don't know that until you get a bill. Restaurant staff make it a point to make you believe otherwise. I typically give great reviews for good service and especially when going above and beyond. But I was so disappointed in this Hilton. I didn't like starting my day this way. read more
