Our stay was excellent this trip. This was our second time staying here and Juan particularly left an impression on me. He was very friendly and super professional. His smile and laughs made our days better. As diamond we had the $15/pp credit and were able to get complimentary late checkout. I used our daily $30 on 4 juices and coconut waters. I feel the text messages were not effective as whatever we needed were not addressed from the text messages. We received a text about our stay and if we needed anything. I messaged them at 2pm before I left regarding our thermostat battery dying and when we came back, the room was 86 degrees. I had to call the Front desk and An engineer came up within 15 minutes so that was our only hiccup. But we literally could not breathe in the room so I couldn't put the baby to sleep. One of the younger female front desk staff was pretty blah too. If everyone was more like Juan, the world (and Hilton) would be a happier better place. The beds and pillows are comfortable. For parking you get the ticket and validate it at the front desk for in and out privileges. We like this Hilton because we love the food options. This is a very solid hotel. It checks all the boxes that I need it to check: 1. Good shower. 2. Comfortable bed. 3. Clean. I'm really not very picky. It also checks a couple of boxes that I consider a nice bonus: 1. Friendly people working there. 2. Gym. 3. Sauna. 4. Pool. The pool is surprisingly nice, but the gym does leave a lot to be desired. The latter has a few treadmills, a Peloton bike, an elliptical machine, some dumbbells, and room/straps/mats/foam rollers to stretch out. I'd love a little more equipment, but I'm happy it's there. The sauna is an excellent bonus, but be aware that it's entirely likely that no one will be using it (or the pool or the gym - I didn't see a single soul in any of them), so it's going to take around 20-30 minutes to heat up. Turn it on before your workout. All in all, a good spot to stay right in Downtown Hartford (an easy walk from the train station), and I'm sure I'll be back next time I'm in town. read more

Conveniently attached to the XL Center. I stayed here for a night and my stay was decent. I arrived to Hartford about 8:30am and my room wasn't ready yet. I left my belongings with them without issue. After having breakfast and exploring a little I was ready to take a nap. I choose the room I wanted to stay in via the Hilton app, but it wasn't ready yet so I asked the front for a room and I was assigned a different room without issue. The room itself was decently sized. There was an iron, hair dryer, comfortable bed and overall the room was clean. Hilton is merging to become a DoubleTree property sometime this year so I believe they aren't using their upper floors. I was in an Uber and saw that the upper floors of the hotel were vacant. Get ready for the chocolate chip cookies!!! My purpose for my Hartford visit was going to the convention center. There is a free Dash shuttle that is operational during the week that can take you there. There is also paid parking. Union Station isn't too far of a walk. It is also walking distance to some food places. read more

If you're looking for somewhere clean and nice to stay, this will do it for you. Personally, I wouldn't stay here for longer than one, maybe two nights, but it has all the amenities that you would need. The rooms are clean. The bed is comfortable and you have, a fridge microwave and refreshment area including two bottles of water. If you need a snack or drink, there's a 24 hour market downstairs or you can always go into the dining area/bar and pick up a drink or pastry item and or other fresh food. A couple of things that did turn me off about the hotel itself, is the bathrooms. You can't use the toilet without having the door in your leg or you can't take a shower without closing the door because you can't get in and out of the shower also in order to turn on the shower, you have to be in the shower and you know that cold blast of waters just hurtful in the morning lol. Small tip, if you want to turn on the hot water, you have to turn it one and a half revolutions all the way around to the left. The showers are also on the smaller side, I hit my elbows four times trying to wash my hair and I'm not a big person. Other than that, it's a nice hotel. Also note, there are not many restaurants nearby. So food options are limited. read more

I know that this place has been getting a bad rep the past year and I do understand why that was. This is one of the older hotels in Hartford and quite frankly is in need of a make over. They are currently in the process of that so some of the amenities are toned back. But still, the quality of service is there and improving. The lobby is small but the folks were friendly , welcoming and very efficient! The restaurant is more of a cafe but with a bar staff that is amazing and working to upscale it as best they can with the limitations of a makeover happening. They have a solid selection that would make most patrons looking for a relaxing drink, very happy. The rooms are clean and a lot have been updated. I had the pleasure of staying in one of these and the bed was awesome, room was great! I do a lot of traveling and yes, have specific expectations from certain brands. The Hilton brand is not tarnished here. They are just in the process of buffing it up! Good luck to all the staff and I can't wait to see the hotel back on top once more!! read more

Conveniently located in downtown Hartford, however the building was much older, could use a renovation. The staff were friendly and attentive. Parking is connected via garage, which helps considering it's location. There are some great food choices within walking distance and it's also near the Mark Twain Museum, highly recommend! read more

The Hilton has a great location and is convenient to several convention centers and large meeting spaces in Hartford. I have stayed here a few times and each time, my experience has been just fine. The front desk staff is very nice and welcoming. I am not sure if it is just a coincidence, but each time I have stayed here, I have had problems with my room keys (it often takes several swipes for the elevator, room, gym, etc. to read they key). My last visit, I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room -- while nothing too extreme, the bedroom curtains had large stains, and there was a hair in the sink. I have not eaten at the on-site restaurant, but they are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The fitness center has a few pieces of cardio equipment and some free weights, and looks over the indoor pool. If you are looking for a conveniently located hotel, the Hilton Hartford is a solid choice, but if you are looking for a nicer hotel for a special occasion, I would suggest the Marriott. read more

I have been here this week for sales meetings. The check in process was by far the easiest that I have had in a really long time. I love the staff everyone is friendly. You have the option of either a free breakfast every morning or Hilton rewards points. The rooms are not state of the art but still really comfy. The maid however does need to pay a little more attention to the slow drainage in the bathroom sink. As a person traveling for work I love how they have a microwave and coffee maker in each room which came in handy. There is only one restaurant that stays open until 10:00 PM and one Bar... Note: They set every clock alarm to 6:00 AM...needless to say trying to figure out how to turn it off with one eye open was beyond annoying. I kept hitting the snooze button on accident which kept going off every 8.5 min. Grrr!!! Make sure you set the alarm to the time that you need when you arrive. read more

This is a glorified Motel 6 stay far away. Don't be bamboozled by the "Hilton" name. It's motel 6 with lipstick & a skirt. The carpet is soiled with unknown substances. My toilet was broken and made loud noises through out the night that kept me from sleeping. Curtains and walls are soiled with unknown substances. Room service will knock softly so you can't hear them to avoid cleaning. Room will have a stench. The worst part is when you arrive you will be fooled by the lobby because the outside looks amazing but as soon as they snatch your dollars you see the room and realize this has to be a money laundering scheme. There is a hotel down the road that is much better. Do not, I repeat, do not book. read more

I can't tell you the most horrific experience my friend and I had this past weekend. Not only were the front desk people rude, they never bothered to help us with our car and where the parking garage was, they profiled us. Didn't even give us the cookie at check in. The next day when we went to check out, we could not find our car for well over an hour due to the lack of help we received when we parked our car at check in, they charged us twice for parking. Both the front desk employee and manager were horrible to us. They treated us horribly and as two white woman, they displayed complete racism towards us. No one should ever be treated like this and quite frankly, both of those employees should be accountable Especially when ALL LIVES MATTER. We will never step foot at this hotel. I am so sad that my first hotel experience since the pandemic began was tarnished by a front desk person who clearly was not interested in helping us. To make a long story short, one of my best friends pre-paid for a room for a wedding. I decided to attend the wedding last minute and when I was talking about booking a room in hartford, she told me she had one for me since she had trouble finding a sitter and was not going to be staying over. She called the hotel and added my name to the reservation. When we arrived, I walked up to the counter and told the front desk person my last name but the room may be under my friends name. He immediately said "We will see, a lot of people say they were added but almost never are." He took 3 seconds to look and then looked up and said, "nope your not on it." He then walked away and never spoke to us again. Luckily my friend was on her way since she was getting ready with us and walked in 15min later. He NEVER ONCE spoke to us or looked at us or acknowledged us again. She added our name to the reservation (for a second time) and he still ignored us completely. Even when we walked thru the lobby that day and night, he NEVER acknowledged me. Like I had done something wrong. The room was basic and we ended up in a handicapped accessible room so the shower was awkward and it just didn't make sense when clearly they weren't near capacity. Not a fan of this location nor the front desk clerk and I def didn't need to be treated as if I had done something wrong. We never even had a chance to put our hilton rewards number on the room since we clearly were invisible to him. Visiting Hartford? Stay at the Marriott! read more

I have stayed here close to a dozen times and love the staff here!! Cherene is a gem and always remembers me by name and has me checked in practically as soon as I walk through the door. She is one if the highlights of this hotel! Most recently I was stuck here for the week during a major storm, and the staff did an excellent job keeping up with the needs of its guests, in spite of being at full capacity. This hotel has a boutique feeling to it where frequent guests are recognized and treated well, with the advantages of having the Hilton comfort and satisfaction guarantee. Rooms are always clean, the lobby is spacious and nice, and surpisingly the food at the M&M Grill is very good (which isn't always the case for a hotel restaurant) and comparably priced to other restaurants in the area. All of the employees are gracious and polite, and I always enjoy the breakfast and lite dinner and desserts in the Executive Lounge- Yola, Diane, and Moe greet everyone with a smile and do a fabulous job of keeping everyone fed and happy! The gym as someone else mentioned is nicely-sized and the indoor pool is a bonus! This is the only place I stay when I come to Hartford. They truly live up to the Hilton Promise! read more

Well, it's not a motel 6 but at least you get what you're expecting there. My room smelled as though someone extinguished a cigarette moments before we entered the room. The curtains are stained and gross (see photos), standing water on the bathroom floor (no one's even taken a shower yet), weird patches on the ceiling and the alarm was still set from the previous guest so 5:59 AM wake-up today. No free coffee except the laughable Cuisinart in the room with no stirs! This is an expensive room for very low quality. read more

We're visiting from NYC- the Hilton hotel and their staff were so so friendly upon our arrival. Location was perfect, it's across the street from the Yard Goats stadium and just a short walk away from a brewery. The hotel was clean and well cared for. My boyfriend & I also rented a pair of cruiser bikes (from BICI Co) this weekend to explore and was able to really immerse ourselves. The city is just beautiful, it's very clean, and everyone is super friendly. I'd highly recommend staying at this Hilton; it won't disappoint. read more

Decent sized lobby with a parking garage right across the street that is accessible via an elevator within the hotel. Nice desk staff as I was greeted and told which way to head as soon as I got in the lobby. The rooms were nice. Refrigerator as well as a desk. I didn't use it but they also had a gym and pool. They also had a restaurant in the lobby. Room service was available too but I'm not sure if it came from the restaurant. read more

Comfortable bed, a lot of street noise if your room faces the street. Lobby staff was less than professional - incapable of smiling, poorly dressed. One was wearing nurse scrubs. First room smelled terrible and we had to move. Not sure what the source of the odor was - we felt it may have been something in the carpet. three of us agreed it stunk - not just me. Second room was better but the shower curtain reeked of sour dish rag. We just dealt with it. You could smell it outside the bathroom door it was so strong. Was here last night, appreciating the proximity to walking destinations downtown: Hartford Stage, XL Center, Bushnell Park & the Capitol, n right off the freeway. Too bad our room had a view of an ugly eyesore of a parking lot. 20 mins from Bradley International. Serves decent breakfast buffet ( muffins n croissants are killer, but the powdered eggs were simply inedible) at M&M---its bistro---and the gym n pool are clean n good. Surprisingly impressed. Lounge in lobby relaxing and inviting. Woohoo for LG flat screens. Peter Thomas Roth bath products. Coffee Bean tea & coffee Bathroom had brown in some grout, unfortunately. I'm surprised valet parking is not available at this hotel. It's self parking right around the corner - not far at all; and there is an entrance from the garage to the hotel and vice versus. Still, I'd rather have valet parking. The rooms are fine, but not as quiet as you m might like them to be since you're downtown Hartford: a small city, but still with some city noise. The restaurant is good, i.e. not a disappointment when you end up eating there a few nights in a row because of snow storm. The bar in the restaurant closes early but there is a bar on the other side of the lobby that stays open later. It's very small but has Two Roads on draft. read more

Booked here since my boyfriend has a Hilton rewards card, he mentioned it was good. So surprised him for our anniversary. Wanted to take some time to relax and rest.Place seemed like it needed renovations went to the pool. It was dirty. The Jacuzzi had so many chemicals. It was hard to even breathe. Then was waken in the morning to Construction early in the morning, asked to be changed to a different room. The manager said this construction going on through out the whole building that there was nothing I could do, .so I checked out. I stayed at this hotel and left a very personal item. Called within 8 hours after leaving and they put me on hold 4 times. Finally said they would call back. The next day I called again. This is not a critique of the staff, just of the room. Room needed some upkeep, multiple carpet stains larger than a foot across, stains on the chair and foot stool. Random sticky spot on the bedside table with a bunch of fuzz stuck to it. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. Bed skirt also had a few stains. Bed sheets were clean. The website for this hotel advertises EV charging for cars at their attached garage. This is not true! Upon arrival, we were informed that EV charging was at a garage a few blocks away. So the room was okay. It was clean. The shower and sink both dripped all night long. Some of the floors were under construction. Two elevators didnt work and at one point only one did. Parking is super easy in the garage. I wouldn't opt for the free breakfast as it wasnt buffet only a few options made at the counter. The ice machine was not working. Convenient for the xl center. Walkway wasn't accessible due to event going on in the morning though. read more

Booked the room for one night; for a concert. I understand the hotel is busy, but that should not affect the experience. Walked in and the room was 81°. Too hot. I walked downstairs (as we were on the 8th floor) and notified the front desk. Five minutes later a man walked into my room (which my two young daughters occupied) and fixed the air conditioning. To me, this should have been repaired before I arrived (especially for the price). All was well until I wanted to order room service. Then, I was aware that the phone did not work. But, not only did the phone not work, but the hotel did not provide a bible. This is the only hotel I have been to that has not done so. It is a clean hotel but if it is a busy time of year/concert season......... don't stay here. read more

I stayed here from Sunday - Friday this past week while in Hartford for business. My coworker and I arrived to the Hilton at about 10 PM on Sunday night. The automatic double door at the front entrance was having work done on it (it was fixed on Wednesday) and so my coworker and I entered through a manual side door. Thankfully checkin was a breeze and we were both headed up to our rooms after only a few minutes at the front desk. My room ended up being on the 12th floor and consisted of a couple of double beds. The room itself was clean and there wasn't really anything wrong with it. It did feel cramped though, especially the bathroom where I am not sure I could have shut the door while sitting on the toilet. Where this Hilton really shines is in its amenities. My coworker and I were able to use the complimentary shuttle each day to get dropped off at work. Our building was only about a half a mile away but in sub zero temperatures it was very much appreciated. Then I also was able to use the gym while staying here. The gym had mostly newer equipment including 3 treadmills, 2 Ellipticals and a recumbent bike along with the a few weight stacks and some free weights. One of the treadmills was broke while I was there but everything else was functioning well. Adjacent to the gym was a pool which looked really nice but which I did not use. This was all located on the 5th floor and there was a giant window at the far end of the pool to allow you to look out over Hartford. The bottom line for me is that I probably wouldn't head back here again in the future. It's not that there was anything wrong with this hotel itself but it felt pretty cramped when compared to the money being spent. That combined with the fact that I know there are a number of other hotels within a square mile that I have stayed at and would rather stay at again then make a return trip to this Hilton. read more

This Hilton is located about 15 miles from the airport and is very easy to get to. Parking is around the side. Be sure to have the front desk stamp your parking ticket or you will be charged the hourly rate. The hotel is clean and kept up well. The front desk receptionist was so kind and friendly. It was probably one of the most pleasant check in experiences that I've had in some time. My room was nice, clean, cozy with a nice City view. The receptionist gave me a ticket for the Executive Lounge which includes a happy hour and breakfast. There is a bistro on site. The food was good. No complaints. Great stay! read more

The room service here is horrible. Our food had the word "warm" in the description. And it came to us very cold. All of the food was ice cold, and the fresh fruit was anything but fresh. When we called to tell the front desk, their first response was "I'm sorry, we don't have anything else." We had to verbally ask for a refund due to being very misled, (can't call food warm if it comes to you cold...). They reluctantly agreed. We were not rude, we just informed them that our warm food came in very cold and that we would like it warmed. read more

I didn't hate the Hilton. I was expecting much worse from the reviews, but it's actually a well located in the downtown area hotel, clean and pretty luxurious for its surrounding competition. The king room was large with a great comfy bed. The shower was a bit ghetto, but there were some great bath products which is a bonus. Overnight parking was $18, but to be expected in the area. I didn't eat at the hotel bar/restaurant, but I'd imagine that its on par with most chain hotel generic restaurant/bars... not awesome. I did stay on a Friday night and the hotel bar was poppin' off with guests since the area is pretty bleak on nightlife. If you can get a good deal, I'd say that the Hilton is definitely ideal for your Hartford hotel! read more

This hotel is still suffering Covid effects. The type of room we reserved was not available as they are all under renovation we were told. Funny how they take the reservation but do not tell you there is an issue until you show up. Rooms and hotel in general are well run down. There was frozen moisture next to the window area in the morning and lots of chipping paint. The restaurant and bar are still closed. They offer food that is in a fridge next to the check in desk. This is not the normal Hilton you would expect. I am a Hilton Diamond but would have to pick the nearby Marriot on my next visit. read more
