My stay was at the Courtyard in Windsor Connecticut and overall it was a great experience. The staff was amazing and very welcoming. I want to give a special shoutout to Barbara who truly made me feel at home. She was warm, friendly, and went out of her way to connect with me including sharing that she has family in Southern California where I am from. Charles the shuttle driver was also incredibly sweet and kind and made transportation pleasant throughout my stay. There was only one area where improvement is needed. While most of the staff was friendly and attentive my experience with Pico the shuttle driver who worked until 11 PM was disappointing. I would not describe him as rude but he appeared uninterested in engaging with guests and lacked basic customer service manners. When greeted he did not respond. When asked simple questions such as how he was doing or about Connecticut he remained silent. His body language felt cold and unwelcoming which is not ideal for a role that involves interacting with tourists and hotel guests. Additionally, he expressed frustration in front of me to the concierge about having to drop off two groups at different locations even though the shuttle operates within a five mile radius. This gave the impression that he did not want to perform his job responsibilities. This was not an isolated incident as this behavior was consistent during all three days we encountered him. I believe this could be improved by having a conversation with him about the level of customer experience expected in his role and encouraging or recognizing efforts to provide basic hospitality read more

I was in the area for Christmas Eve dinner and thought I would stay at a hotel rather than with all of my family at my aunt's home nearby. I stayed here for one night 7 or 8 years ago and remembered that it was quiet and convenient, so that made it easy to decide where I would stay again. Marc at the front desk checked me in, he was so nice and since I had already parked around back, he found me a room closest to the door so I could go right out to my car. My room was spotless, bed was comfy and the water was hot for my shower the following morning. I needed different pillows when I arrived and said it was no hurry since I was headed out shortly, but housekeeping brought them right away. I need to spend another night in the Hartford area in a couple of weeks, this one is not the most convenient to where I am headed, but I will probably stay again due to the great experience and free parking (some of the hotels in Manchester are charging for parking, and that is a big NO for me!). read more

Well...let me start off by saying that the staff was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating at the hotel. The food at the Bistro bar was very good and I would absolutely order again. However, there were a couple of issues. Even though it was advertised that they provided a 24/7 shuttle to the airport they could not provide us transport to the airport for our early morning flight that was leaving at 6am. Kind of a bummer but we dealt with it. Finally, it was time to relax and get a little shut eye before having to get up at 3am and upon returning to my room, I saw this bug crawling on my pillow. I went to show the front desk staff the photo that I took and he said "oh it's harmless" but gladly honored my request to be moved to another room and alerted housekeeping. I'm no bug expert but regardless, harmless or not, it's a little unsettling. This post isn't meant to call out Marriott staff but more so to make people aware that you may not be the only thing in your room that's alive. Overall, I would absolutely stay in a Marriott brand hotel again. read more

Zenae Teyona Lewis, I've know her since she was 6 yrs old. She is a spit fire and I'm not surprise she is reaching for the stars. Zenae will be attending Virgina Common Wealth University. Zenae spoke in washington, DC to the National Urban Leagur Conference and she gave a passionate speech on why laws need to be advocated against gun violence. Zenae has spoken locally at events in Hartford. I was honored to hear Zenae speak today. I'm so proud of Zenae and she will continue to be an inspiration to so many young woman an young men who are trying to seek out the purpose of their life. Look out for Zenae she's doing big things. Evelyn Dillion songstress sang beautifully and she had the crowd going as we sang along with "Girl on Fire" by Aicia Keys. We tore it up. Yondel Gilfurt" Mommy Slays" her speech was awesome she was so down to earth and she grabbed the audience and every woman could relate to her if they were single woman, married woman, single mother. Average at best. Didn't like the sliding doors from the room that open into the parking lot. The rooms need updating a bit. The bathroom floors were sticky. The iron didn't work, and it took 2 attempts for the staff to get me a working one. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was decent and the in-house Starbucks helps. I am sad to say that after being such an advocate for Marriott hotels and INSISTING they are the cleanest, I have been EXTREMELY disappointed by this Hartford Courtyard. Entering the room, I was already a little alarmed because my room felt so musty. The decor is very standard and the hotel also comes with a microwave (so that's nice). My first night staying at this hotel, I was very very itchy. I assumed it was because I was allergic to the detergent they used or something, but I didn't think too much of it. The next morning my coworker noted that he had found many small spiders crawling on the walls of his room! I found several bug bites on myself as well. I don't think I'll be staying here again for fear of lack of cleanliness. Carpet is also not super clean. The service though is AMAZING. Front desk is so nice and welcoming! Breakfast voucher comes with a drink and an entree and they have many options. I enjoyed the breakfast a lot. Sad that they fell short on the cleanliness because that is the most important thing to me. If you don't mind that though, this is a pretty decent hotel and the lobby seems very new. read more

I've been staying here several times now, and I do like what they did to the front / cafe. With that said, the rooms are still the old courtyard style, and pool also needs renovation. Cafe food is totally rip off. Also, weekend vacationers are really crazy here, I saw bunch of adults bringing in a keg and having a pool party while kids were swimming next to them. read more

We were in town for my neices sweet 16 and went off the recommendation of my sister.. The older gentleman checking us in was very nice considering we didn't arrive until 2am. When staying here be sure you have a car because there is literally nothing around here. The young lady in the afternoon gave us some menus to order some food..We ordered from Bradley's pizza it was delicious. The only thing I wasnt excited about is there was rust all around our bathtub drain and the housekeeping kept coming to wake us up even though we told them we didn't want the service. One of the young ladies actually walked into my mom room while she was sleeping..overall it was a good stay. read more

Brief review because my stay was overwhelmingly positive. I recently spent several weeks at this Courtyard Marriott on business and was impressed by the quality of the hotel, amenities and front desk staff. My only issue was the total inconsistency with housekeeping. Everyday was like playing a game to see what they chose to replenish and what I would have to do without. Coffee, conditioner, shampoo... you never knew. I found the front desk to be immediately responsive to all of my requests, but I stopped making them after a few days because I felt like a pest. Overall, this is a really good place to stay. A few tweaks and it could be great. read more

This was seriously the best Courtyard I've ever stayed at and I've traveled quite a bit for work, and am even a Marriott rewards member. I take it that it's been renovated recently because it's got a ton of modern amenities from flat screen tvs in personal booth areas in the lobby to one of those large screens that welcomes you and tells you how the day is going to be too. The staff is friendly and efficient upon check in and whenever we had questions. The rooms were clean and comfortable and either look over the parking lot (which was great for us since we had to keep an eye on our show cars), or overlook the inner courtyard (ha, pun) of the hotel. Hopefully no one else discovers this tranquil little hotel in the middle of CT. We'll surely be back annually for as long as we attend events up there. read more

This is a pretty good hotel. If you know Courtyards, you know what you're getting and that it's consistent. This hotel is no exception. The lobby is newly renovated with plenty of seating. The wifi is good and relatively fast as hotel lobbies go. The rooms are in pretty good shape. The beds are comfortable, the shower pressure is decent, and overall it feels clean. The lighting is a bit dim with the decor, but it's what I'm used to at a Courtyard so it's all good. The staff has been outstanding. The front desk attendant was very helpful. She gave me the background on the hotel and its amenities, as well as made sure I got the room I wanted (top floor away from the elevator). Good hotel for a good price. Go Marriott! read more

So on January 3 I stayed at this Hotel was flying out of Bradford the next day. I am a Platnium member and expected better treatment than this. I travel 50% of the year and stay at Marriotts. This incident happened one other time to me a year or so ago at a different hotel. .They put me in Room 216 which was a Mile walk from the Lobby in the area that had not been refurbished since I was on a Company discount rate. I got BEDBUG bites all over me and notified the hotel Management the very next day. I am reviewing this on Yelp so it doesn't happen again. Theystated would get on it about seeing if thy had Bed Bugs. They did not follow up with me even though the Manager said she would call me back credit my account for my points. VERY poor customer service. read more

Good staff and the hotel has everything, except that that everything is old and that everything is about to fall apart Apart from the spider I found in the washroom, and the male sock that my friend found in his room, everything else was good... Room is decent, lobby is OK. The hallways and stairwells take you back 15 years and need to be redone. Make sure to ask what side of the building your room is on. If you park on wrong side, you can get in but you will walk a long way to get around to your room. read more

Recently stayed here when traveling for business and was very pleased with the service. The staff was extremely kind, especially the gentlemen named Jonathan. The room was clean, large, TV had HBO and on demand movies. The only reason I subtract one star is because on the day of check out (the only day I was able to sleep a little late) they knocked on the door at 8:00 AM when they slipped the invoice under the door and woke me up. First time at this Courtyard property - very friendly staff, standard room that was renovated in the past several years, so the bed was extremely comfortable and everything worked as expected. I do not recommend this hotel. Bed was hard as rocks. Requested to view a suite as thought maybe next time in the area I might want to book one. Manager could not be bothered to show me one. While I understand that children are children, they should not be allowed to be running up and down the halls and stairs at 3:00 A.M. in the morning. I pre-paid ahead of time but the hotel charged me again. Working through eBATEs hotel, the manager agreed to refund the overcharge. Was supposed to be in my account within 48 hours. I have talked to two employees who said they would talk to the manager and get back to me. No one did. First time staying at this property... as well as the last time. Staff was amazing. Lobby was contemporary & modern. That was the end of it... the room smelled moldy. The bathroom floor was in need of a good scrubbing. And the worst of all, I came back to my room about 10pm to no heat!!! It was 31° outside!!! I just wanted to go to sleep but I had to wait for maintenance to fix the heat. When he got there it didn't take him long to fix it but he had to disconnect the wall thermostat and I had to control the heat from the old wall unit. Decent enough Courtyard. I have only been here one time. A minor issue is that the parking lot is actually pretty far from the lobby so if you have a lot of stuff to bring in, that could be an issue. No issues with check-in and it's a pretty standard Coutryard. Be warned this place is super spread out so you may have to walk very far from the lobby to your room. Our family of four (two pre-teen boys) stayed here for a little mini-getaway this weeekend and the hotel was PERFECT. The rooms were immaculate, had a refrigerator AND microwave, flat screen TV, ultra comfortable beds and all the amenities we were looking for. The wi-fi was great, there were plenty of outlets in our room, and best of all, I was able to open the sliding glass door to get some fresh air. The hotel is modern, beautifully decorated, and has any convenience you are looking for: a bistro serving HEALTHY inexpensive food (like green smoothies and oatmeal), a touch screen in the lobby where you can look up the weather, restaurant menu, etc. There are lots of cozy nooks and crannies where you can sit and read, or watch TV. My favorite element is the courtyard - flowers, sunshine, and plenty of couches, chairs and umbrellas for sitting outside. My sons took advantage of the pool and ordered a kids' quesadilla from the very reasonably priced Kids Menu at the Bistro. The staff are WONDERFUL. George hooked us up with adjoining rooms and made sure that we had just the right set up. The young man at the Bistro couldn't have been friendlier. He explained the times that they were open, and even gave us a list of ALL the restaurants in the area, which included their telephone numbers and how many miles away they were. He gave us three menus from restuarants that deliver to the hotel, as well. Talk about full service! We will be returning for another family getaway when school starts and we need to escape our hectic life. This place had everything we were looking for and I highly recommend it to families who need a little R&R. read more

The staff are very nice but the bed is hard, the ice machine is broken, the air conditioner has managed to cool the room down to 78 degrees after *four hours*, and the refrigerator cools beverages to room temperature. I'm currently staying at this hotel with my mother who is elderly. She has limited mobility and requires some special attention. We arrived late to the hotel and met Paula at the front desk while checking in. What a fabulous employee you have in Paula. She made us feel welcomed she called us by name. She showed me the room first to be sure my mother would be comfortable there. My mom joked about getting extra coffee and the gentleman working the desk (can't remember his name) handed us a bag with exactly what she wanted. We couldn't have felt more special. It can be highly stressful traveling with someone who has special mobility needs. When a stranger is sensitive to these needs it makes all the difference. After getting fully checked in, Paula mentioned she was leaving for the evening. She stayed a little later just to make sure we were settled. After my experience this past weekend (08/08/21-08/09/21) I wouldn't recommend staying at this Marriott location. Mainly on the issue of authorization fees that I shouldn't have been billed for I was billed twice to the tune of $440.88, totaling out to $881.76. One staff, member tried to resolve the situation or so I thought, initially she stated that my money would be deposited back in my account the day of checkout. I check my account and the hotel deposit was the only fee that was deposited back into my account. So I spoke with two staff members as I was checking out, neither one of them could give me a clear indication of what the fee was for other then that I was double charged on accident and that the secondary fee in the amount of $440.88 was on behalf of Hotels.com which is something I've never heard of. As of now I'm disputing this with my financial institution. I enjoyed my stay however, the staff did not handle this situation at all, by not holding themselves accountable for the mistake that they made. read more

I do NOT recommend this hotel. I was staying this past weekend for wedding. I had initially thought that the room experience was great as everything was clean, and the front desk staff were generally very courteous. That being said, on the day we checked out, our experience was terrible, and I would not recommend this hotel. Check out was at 12pm and throughout the morning, we moved things to the car and spent time talking to family in the lobby area. We left over $150 worth of food (from the wedding and my birthday dinner) in the refrigerator as we wanted to keep it cold until right before we left. As a result, I waited to the last moment to retrieve it, and then I planned to check out. When I went back to the room, I discovered the housekeeper cleaning our room PRIOR TO US CHECKING OUT. She also had decided to throw away most of our food. I also noticed that she had kept all the prime rib out (likely to take it--which I believe we would all consider to be stealing). I have never been more upset to dig food out of the garbage on the housekeeper's cart to see what had happened. She followed me around saying that she thought we had left, there was barely any of the food left, and she thought we had forgotten it. The front desk attendant agreed that it was unacceptable, said she would speak to housekeeping, and offered us coupons for the bistro. I was so upset that I couldn't do more than take the coupons and check out. On the way home, I realized they had then charged me for the couponed food, and I then had to call to get the charge removed after they went through their daily receipts. The last straw was when I came home to realize that I was missing my birthday food. I would never recommend staying here. I appreciate the professionalism of the staff, but I felt violated. I can't even imagine what could have happened if possessions were in my room when the housekeeper decided that she could "clean" the room early. We also had repeated issues with our room keys not working. It is just very unfortunate considering we generally otherwise had a pleasant stay. I would not stay here. read more

Would never recommend. I was the bride, with a hotel block. I was told I get a free suite if I get a certain amount of rooms booked- yet they charged me for BOTH nights. My room also was not cleaned for my husband and I when we got back from our wedding. Absolutely love this place. I've stayed here a few times now and each time the staff is absolutely flawless. They're the most friendly, customer service oriented staff I have ever encountered during a hotel stay. The hotel has many extras!
