The owner Raj is wonderful to work with, very intuitive and accommodating. We had out work lunch catered by them, they provided Chicken Tikki Masala, Butter Chicken, Tofu Tikki Masala (vegetarian option) and a vegetable option that was vegan. All entrees came with rice and naan, with a GF option for some as well. Everything was so delicious and a great way to celebrate Holi together! At a previous visit, we enjoyed their lunch special which came with a choice of entree, rice, salad, soup and naan - all delicious for one affordable price! We also enjoyed chicken momos that came with two sauces and were really good as well, and their chai is also delicious! Restaurant was clean, loved the bright colors and cultural ambiance. Initially when this place opened, I was ecstatic to have this option so close to home. The idea was great, location is easy to get to, and it was going to add a much needed diversity to the area. My first visit was rocky but I attributed it to new business challenges that still needed to be ironed out. Now that they have been open for some time, unfortunately not only are the issues still existing, but they are getting worse with time! The last time I ate here they got something wrong with every order at our table AND at least one thing wrong at every table there. I know this because we had the time to watch and listen, and it was a disaster. It would be one thing if the orders were all wrong but the service was fast or the food was ultra delicious but those things aren't true either. Every time I've eaten here I've contemplated just leaning because regardless of how many people are in the restaurant, the dishes take forever to get out of the kitchen. It absolutely boggles my mind. Not only are there issues persistently with order accuracy, timeliness, and service, but when I've discussed the issues with the people serving, they don't seem to be bothered by it. Parking is limited with so many businesses so closely packed and there are a lot of transient folks who loiter this parking lot and I've watched many police interactions that iefy me feeling like I just didn't want to hang out there at all. Totally content with our Valentine's Day dinner! Sweet place. Soft music, booths and not noisy even though it was almost full. We could talk, enjoy our Henhouse IPA, Chicken and pumpkin curry, mixed vegetable dosa and papadum without any bustle. I'm glad they close for a couple hours 2-4p to rest because we walked in at 4:30 on a Friday and so did many others. Very nice people. I see that some people complain about slow service and not great food - I'd rather have hot well prepared food rather than slapped together dishes with no flavor. Is it the best? It was flavorful and we enjoyed it immensely, that's what matters to me. It is the only south Indian dosa cafe in the north bay that I know of right now but still delicious. While this is still one of my family's favorite restaurants, I'm adjusting my rating because the takeout service has gotten much slower over the last couple of years that we've been visiting. I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know, but always have to give a warning about the slow takeout service. No matter the pickup time estimate given we always add 20-30 minutes and that is sometimes still not enough of a buffer for our food to be ready. Despite this, we continue to order regularly and always enjoy the food! We're always pleased with our order. Our go-tos are the veggie and chicken pakora (my kids love these!), the onion & potato dosa, and any of the curries. Everything is always delicious and fresh. They also have a great lunch plate special! read more

We had a chance to visit them while we were on vacation and we were so glad that we did. The owner/chef welcomed us and helped us with our order. First, we had the Veg Momo, which we would always recommend getting at a Himalayan restaurant. The dipping sauce that comes with it is so good. We also had the pumpkin and Apricot Curries for lunch. If you like your curries spicy like us, then ask for the hot sauce. read more

The food here has always been great. They have a large menu of food options and I feel like I've never been let down by any of the sauces or meats I've ordered here. Really good place for takeout or delivery. The service here is a bit slow, but they're very friendly and it's understandable considering the size of the place. The restaurant itself has a basic layout (just the main dining room with a register). This facility is under new ownership as of June, so to be putting a rating on a previous person's Yelp doesn't seem fair but there is not a new Yelp site for the new owner, so here goes... My previous review of this facility, under the old ownership, was GREAT! It is now AWFUL! The service was iffy, the food was horrible, and we waited 1 1/2 hours to get food for 7 people without another patron in the facility the entire time we were there. There MAY have been a couple of DoorDash orders, as I heard the bell ring a couple of times, but I never saw anyone come in to pick anything up. The only reason we didn't walk out is because it was my son's birthday and he really wanted to eat there. In hindsight, once we got the food that most of us couldn't eat because it was so awful, we should have left. Such a disappointment that what was so wonderful has gone SO FAR downhill under new ownership. read more

Ordered again today. I was so excited... sadly the food was not very good. I could barely eat any of it due to being super salty. The dosa flavor was not at all the same as the last time and unfortunately I decided to try the vegetable pakora instead of chicken this time. The pakora was soggy and oil soaked. We had Butter chicken Tandoori combo Daal Pulau rice & the chicken samosas that are not called that. Butter naan Everything we ate was cooked perfectly, seasoned well & scrumptious! This is what we're used to coming from the South Bay! We are so thankful to have a place to go when we want the real good good! Loved this place! We ended up here with a family of 6- a grandma, 4-year old twins, a 9 year old and us-mom and dad. The service was out of this world, they went out of their way to even make a special chutney for my mother-in-law who eats only Jain food. The server's father made fresh chutney for her from scratch, with a new recipe he made up right there. And it was great. The kids' veggie fried rice was delicious- my daughter was licking her spoon, and my husband and I were also trying to steal hers. We had the paneer tikka masala, and it had just the right spice and it was so delicious - better than most places we have tried even in San Francisco. The service itself was astounding, they were just so nice. They even made less sugar lemonade on the house for our twins who started crying and screaming for it. The place was very affordable, and my husband (who is typically super picky) said he would even drive an hour from our home in SSF to visit again. read more

This place was a last minute decision from the family. However, we weren't disappointed as the food was great. The restaurant was clean and had some nice jazz music playing in the background. We were seated in one of the spacious booths around the perimeter of the restaurant. We ordered the Dosa, Samosas, MoMos, Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Himalayan Fried Rice. We coupled all of that with some fluffy garlic naan. The flavor was incredible and the sauces were incredibly flavorful. However, the fried rice left a little to be desired as it was a little light on flavor. To no fault of the server, we got the wrong order initially and luckily we did not touch it. The server quickly swapped it out and brought our order shortly after. We really enjoyed the recommendations from the server and the whole experience was great. We first went to Himalayan Grill & Dosa on Friday, November 10. We had to go back the following Friday as well. That should tell you how good it is! The first time I had the apricot veggie curry with brown rice. Oh my goodness, the flavor was incredible! The bits of apricot were so delicious! This past Friday, I had the veggie korma with brown rice, and it was just as tasty! My son and husband both had chicken tikka masala with naan the first week, and chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, rice, and naan this past week. They both loved it all! We also spilt an order of masala potato and onion dosa this past Friday as well, and it was so flavorful and scrumptious! We all loved it! I cannot wait to try the other dosa flavors! And, the staff is so sweet! They are so gracious and pleasant. I loved that they remembered us :) Can't wait to go back! read more

I'm convinced people in Petaluma don't have real taste buds. I'm a huge fan of Indian food and this place was subpar to me. I will say the garlic cilantro naan and the tikka masala was pretty decent but everything else was ehhh. Lentil soup and aloogo bi had no flavor or salt. The cheese naan was bland. The samosas were okay but the green cilantro sauce that comes with it was so salty. I ordered four samosas and we only got one of each sauce which were little. Not to mention it took 40 minutes to get my food. It's a no for me. read more

After reading all the great reviews, we were excited to try this place. We ordered Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Mattar Paneer. Everything was just not quite right. The Naan wasn't baked enough. The Chicken Tikka Masala and the Mattar Paneer lacked flavor--as if the spices weren't toasted or something. The colors of the food were off too. The Mattar Paneer was peach colored. The textures if the curries was good,but the flavor just wasn't there. Maybe it was an off night. read more
