2 hours just to get some basic indian food. The fact they do not do dine in makes you want the food more till you are disappointed on how basic the food is. Might as well go make your own indian food, most likely better home made. When i called their attitude was also horrible. "If you are looking for takeout its 2 hours." Pretty unique spot. The employees were uber friendly and appreciative we were there. The place wasn't necessarily flashy by any means, but their was something small and raw about the experience that made it feel like an awesome hole in the wall. Def recoomend. Their Coconut Curry w/shrimp and Naan (Jalapeño Garlic) were delicious. This is coming from someone that lived in a major food area that was spoiled with amazing options (DC) . The chicken tikka is great and never fails but what does fail is the overall consistency of the restaurant. We have ordered through them numerous times through Uber eats and something is always messed up or missing. The briyani is never spiced right and today we were missing a whole item in our order...i can say that about other items on menu.. consistency is not their strong suit . We believe in supporting local communities but at this point we are fed up. read more

We stopped to try the food as it has just opened. Having had great food in the homes of friends from India and Nepal, we had high expectations. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding. We ordered butter chicken and lamb in the Himalayan style. Nice flavor just the right amount of spice. Be aware it can get very busy and there can be a wait. Also only six tables, kind of self service with water and plates. I would and will go again, but will order to go. Enjoy. read more

By far the best Indian Food I've ever had! The one in Kaimuki is amazing too! I always get the same thing...I think it's called Chicken Marsala Tikka (level 5 spicy), 2 garlic/jalapeño naan, and it comes with rice. If you drink a little red wine with it you can't go wrong. Finally a legit indian restaurant on the windward side! Located at the old india cafe site. Partner is indian and says the food is authentic and delicious. We ordered the chicken tikka wrap, chicken biriyani, and chana masala. All delicious! Ordered spice 6 level which was slightly too spicy for me but perfect for my partner. Will order 5 next time. Omg delicious!! We just moved to Kailua and we're so glad this was one of our first take out experiences! For my husband and I, we ordered chicken tikka masala and the everest sekuwa (lamb kabob), along with garlic naan and samosas (although they got left out of our order - still 5 stars!). I ordered through DoorDash and picked up, so I wasn't prompted for how spicy we wanted the tikka masala. By itself, it's a 0/10 on spice ... but just a few drops of the enclosed tiny cup of peppery hot sauce and YOWZA and YUMMY!! The lamb kabob was grilled perfectly and so flavorful. I don't know what the stewed vegetables were that came with it, but I could have eaten a bowl of that with rice and been perfectly content. This was WAY more food than my husband and I needed so we now have delicious leftovers! You could take either one of the dishes and split between two people with a side of naan. Great value! I cannot wait to try more of their delicious dishes!! read more

The tikka was so sour and bleh. The naan was extremely dry and tough. The only thing that was decent was the chana masala.

This place is great. They have wonderful customer service and the food is sooooo good. Be careful on the level of hotness we got a 5 and it was quite spicy. I'd probably get a 3 next time. But even at a 5 the Saag Paneer was bomb! read more

These guys went above and beyond the other night when I mistakenly placed my order at the Kaimuki restaurant instead of the Kailua location (I know, stupid move). Not only was he very nice and accommodating, the Kailua location whipped up my food fast. The food itself was awesome, the flavors a curry lover like myself can really appreciate. The lamb was tender and plentisome, not too gamy at all. The portions are generous, we were able to have amazing leftovers numerous times. The spice level was through the roof (got one curry dish 9 out of 10 while our other dishes were 5's, they all tasted like 9's). Seeing that we love spice it wasn't a problem but definitely gonna lower our number system next time. Gonna be back very soon. read more

The sign outside says "India Cafe"...so it's a bit confusing on Yelp to find this place - the receipt says Himalayan Kitchen. Anyway, the service was really wonderful- despite being insanely busy the staff were friendly and helpful with ordering and clarifying the menu options. Take out was pretty quick - they explained when I ordered that it would be 20 minutes, and it was. The food was amazing!! Probably the best Indian I've had. The others that ate w me agreed. Tonight on my way home from work I saw the open sign and but I have not had good Indian food in a while so I stopped. There was a decent amount of people in there waiting for there to go so I thought this was a good sign that it must be good! I asked one of the customers for recommendations. As I ordered the guy behind the counter was so kind and friendly. I only had to wait maybe 5 to 7 minutes for a decent amount of food. I have to say, this is the best Indian food I've had in a really long time. The flavors, spices, presentation was all five star! I will definitely be making this one of my regular stops! Kailua has been crying for a good Indian/Himalayan restaurant and now it's here. Very small w/ 4 tables so plan on a wait or better yet do take out. Tandoor oven and the naan is great! Lamb was delicious. Hot scale is 1 to 10....w/ haoles who don't mind some heat opted for 4, but when we go back, it'll be 3! Small staff so be prepared to wait but Mohammed held the kitchen for us despite the usual cut off of 8:30 [we got there like 8:32}. Highly recommend read more

We had lunch at their Kailua branch today for the first time. Restaurant space is small but cozy, with additional tables outside.
