It's been a while since I had Nepali food so I was stoked to see that there's a small, family-owned restaurant here in Cary, NC. Himalayan Nepali Cuisine is located in a little strip so there is plenty of room for parking and I love how there's a Tibetan/Himalayan gift shop right next door! Right when we walked in, we were seated and served some warm sweet ginger tea and papad which is a thin/crispy Nepali flatbread-cracker. We ordered the following: Chicken Momo Nepali Chicken Curry Garlic Naan Everything was delicious! The chicken filling inside the momo was yummy and the curry sauce was slightly tangy and spicy from the tomatoes and chilis. The only thing I wish was different was the temperature- the momo's were a little lukewarm so I wish it was higher in temperature but this was still a solid dish! The Nepali Chicken Curry also had that spicy/tangy flavor from all the ingredients and spices. The chicken pieces were juicy, tender, and went well with the rice and garlic naan. Speaking of naan, this was my sister and I's favorite. The naan was crispy on the outside with a nice chewiness on the inside. And the garlic seasoning on top was just *chef's kiss*. Overal, Himalayan Nepali Cuisine had attentive/kind service and delicious, affordable food made with love and care- what more could you ask for :)!

This so far has been the best Nepali/Indian food I've had in the Triangle. The service was so friendly and attentive. The food was hot and came out in a good amount of time. And the portions were so generous for the price. I can't wait to go back and try more

I came here for the first time last week and the owner was super welcoming. It looks like a family business but it was clean and cozy. The food was delicious! The garlic nan was flavorful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the goat curry was flavorful and not gamey at all, the Momo was delicious as well. The complimentary ginger tea was also tasty. Overall I'd definitely comeback and recommend everyone to come. Everything in the restaurant is Halal which was a big bonus since one of my friend is a Muslim.

May, in NC for daughter's Duke graduation. Had reservations elsewhere, but fell through and ended up here. NO regrets. Nice mix of Indian and Nepalese cuisine, and everything was very good. Had a bunch of stuff and it was all good: Chili Chicken Momo; Chicken Tika masala; Nepali Style Chili Potatos, Nepali Tarkari; Samosas,

A very tasty and delicious spot. The seating here is limited but definitely worth the wait. Also, if you can't handle the heat I would request very mild. I was in tears but it was so good. Will definitely be coming back to try more in the menu

After eating here multiple times, and trying different entrees, I am convinced this is some of the best food and best service anywhere.

Hands down, this spot is my absolute favorite place for incredible Nepali cuisine in the Triangle. The service here is incredible every time we go; our cups are always filled with their delicious house-made complimentary, sweet yet spiced, Nepali black tea (I love this tea so much that I have to ask for a refill to go), the waiter always has amazing suggestions for dishes depending on our mood, plus every dish I have at Himalayan Nepali Cuisine is phenomenal. Our Chili Chicken appetizer (spice level 3 out of 7) is my new obsession. The chicken bites are fried to perfection and tossed in a chili pepper based sauce with peppers and onion (OMG so good). I loved how massive the veggie samosas were; truly a meal in itself. It paired well with the cilantro based sauce and even better with the side of chilli sauce. The outside was crispy and the inside was almost fluffy with massed potatoes and various root veggies and spices. I had steamed chicken mono for the first time and I think I'm hooked. I loved how each dumpling was steamed well and filled with a mixture of ground chicken, spices and came with a side of chutney. Over the past month, my bf and I have gone back at least 3 times from Raleigh to Cary just to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and dishes at this wonderful restaurant.

***FOOD: everything was amazingly yummy. MOMOS - delicious and a must have NAAN - light fluffy and flavourful MANGO LASSI - tasty full of mango flavor very good TIKKA MASAL - so so good ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$ very reasonable ***DÉCOR: small place inside, basic. I guess the food is the main here. ***SERVICE: ok. The server didn't really understand or speak English very well. Have to wait for food so be prepared. Lots of parking in this strip mall location ***RECOMMEND: HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Would definitely go back.

The restaurant is located in the corner of an older Plaza complex by downtown Cary. It is a small restaurant and so it is the best to call in advance to reserve a table when we arrived at around 5:45 PM on Saturday, the restaurant was packed. We were seated immediately and handed our menus. They provide water and warm tea on arrival. Within a few minutes our waiter came. He was very attentive and helped us with our food choices. What was nice about the menu is that they inform us of the food allergen associated with each meal. The appetizer arrived not too long after we ordered our meal. Our main courses arrive shortly after the food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It is our first visit to this restaurant and certainly not our last. We think this is the best tasting Indian/Nepalese Himalayan restaurant in the area!

Beware of the high yelp rating!…read more We were starving and excited to try this place after a couple hour hike at Umstead yesterday. We LOVE northern Indian and Nepalese food and were lured by the high yelp rating. I'll start with the good. The server was kind and efficient. The chili chicken momo were delicious. The rice and garlic naan were average to good as well. However, our butter chicken and our chicken korma tasted like nothing. It was very strange. There was texture and you could kind of taste the chicken itself but the sauces tasted like nothing. You could almost only tell the two apart based on color and texture. We ordered one of them medium spice and one mild. Even the medium spiced dish had zero flavor. I kind of thought to myself that something was off when the colors looked bright but we couldn't taste a thing. I kept thinking maybe the flavor or heat will build. It never did. Nevertheless we ate everything bc we were starving, but we were definitely disappointed in the lack of flavor. Not long after we left, our stomachs were kind of on edge but we figured this was simply from eating too much. This morning we both woke up ILL. Even though we discussed coming back for the chili momo only in the future, we have since changed our tune. I love locally-owned businesses and hate to leave a bad review but we truly did not have a 4+ star experience here. We won't be back.
