Overall, I am not a big fan of the food hall. It's just not the best place for a date or catching up with friends because it is so noisy and crowded. However, if you're downtown doing something with a group and want to grab a quick meal with options for everyone it's the place to go. I've tried most of the vendors at Transfer Company but had not had Chhote so decided to give it a try last night. I ordered the Chana Masala and husband the Chicken Tikka Masala. Food was ready super quick and portion sizes were generous. Mine was very flavorful. Husband's had lots of sauce, perfect for all the rice, and was an average Tikka Masala. If you're craving quick Indian food not a bad place to grab some.

Excellent shrimp tikka masala and naan bread! Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely eat here again while in Raleigh!

I had the taste for Indian food and didn't want to pay an arm and leg to cure my craving so I found this spot inside Transfer Food Hall. The prices are reasonable and portions and nice. They offer various specials which they post for viewing. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Samosas. The samosas were huge but very lukewarm almost cold and the chicken tikka masala was plentiful yet kind of bland. The chunks of chicken were huge so no complaint there but I wish I could taste more spices and flavors. If ever in the area again I would give them a go and try another dish.

Great food and awesome service . It feels good to get Great customer every time we come here. They always welcome you with a smile.

Place is definitely good, but second time around I was less enthusiastic about it. Still a solid 3.5

Lunch here today was good! It's Indian street food, and the menu is short. I chose two items from the small eats section--samosas and chicken kathi rolls, which were described to me as "Indian tacos." Both were nicely spicy and tasty, but the kathi rolls were enough on their own. I wound up taking a samosa home. My friend enjoyed his huge lamb dosa and managed to eat the whole thing. The service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Windows surround the kitchen, so you can watch them work. I heard another patron say that it used to be a Char-Grill, and that was pretty obvious in the decor--it looks like they kept it the way it was (including tables and chairs) and just changed the signs. We would have liked to see more choices on the menu and more compostable containers. Also, the drink machine was broken, but water was fine with that spicy food.

Great food and friendly service. Came here for lunch Ordered the Shrimp Tikka Masala Servicing sizes are plentiful. The sauce is creamy, fresh and well seasoned. Meal was made to order. The staff is very attentive and the kitchen area was very clean which is critical. Highly recommend visiting I will definitely frequent this establishment when in the area.

    Chicken Tikka Masala

Simple menu at Raleighs Transfer Co. Food Hall. Large portions, chicken tikka masala was excellent. Garlic naan and vegetable samosa's also really good! Service was very personable and good. The Food Hall had a fun atmosphere. Very enjoyable place to visit.

The Indian food here was average. We tried a chai, the naan, chana masala and samosa chaat. The food was just okay, I was disappointed for the amount of naan we got for the price. There are a ton of food options inside Transfer, this unfortunately would not be one of my first choices.

Super tasty and a great addition to Transfer Food Hall! I knew I had to order the bison momos after Nancy T was raving about them. They definitely did not disappoint! They were flavorful and delicious. It was my first time having momoms so I don't have anything to compare them to, but I just know they were tasty. I also enjoyed the naan and samosas we ordered as well. I'd love to give some of their entrees a try next time. We also gave the Thumbs Up soft drink a try and that wasn't for me. It's one of the most popular soft drinks in India, it was Pepsi-esque. I like that they have it as an option though and am always up for trying something new. I'm looking forward to eating here again!

Very happy a non-chain restaurant opened up in Garner. We stopped for a quick dinner & were very pleased with our order. We shared onion bajji, samosas, chana masala, spring masala dosa & naan. Everything was great & tasted fresh. The naan was good, but I don't think it was housemade, but I could be wrong. It was still tasty, but fresh housemade naan is ahmazing. Service was friendly & quick. We sat on the patio in gorgeous weather enjoying our tasty Indian street food.

I'm so happy that Garner finally has an Indian restaurant and it's legit good! I've spent a lot of time in India, so am picky about having really good Indian food. Don't let the location fool you, they are serving up amazing street food from Chicken tikka masala to samosas to dosas and naan, there's something for everyone. I would have gone back just for the food, but all of the staff were so amazing, happy to be there and were excited to share their ideas for new things coming! I hope everyone goes and keeps this local business thriving, it was a missing piece and I'm so happy it's here!

Good taste and I liked the counter service. The dosa could have been a little crispier but otherwise delicious with Sambar.

The staff could not have been more accommodating. Our waitress, Katie, was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the manager, Sammy, went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The chef even came over to introduce himself, which was a really nice touch. We also learned during our visit that the restaurant has recently been recognized by Michelin, very well deserved. Won't be surprised if they get their first star in the coming months. Definitely save room for the desserts, I've never tasted anything like it. A perfect place for a special night, and it'll always mean a lot to us since it's where our story started. We'll be back soon.

They've got these plush, deep green velvet booths that hug you sweeter than a Southern grandma, paired with large, dramatic blue dining chairs that practically scream, "Sit and Stay a While". Everywhere you look, there is gleaming copper decor catching the light, reflecting off soft, warm wood tones that keep the whole place from feeling stuffy. It's upscale, sure, but it breathes. It is bustling, animated, and humming with gossip and laughter. It's high-end, but not overly formal. Now for the bar - The Old Fashioned is absolutely gorgeous, the star of the show being the unique craft ice. That giant block of ice is taking up about 90% of real estate so they are giving you a very short pour on the liquid. It's about three sips of actual cocktail swimming around a diamond-grade ice cube. It is high-end and it tastes wonderful--just don't expect a heavy pour. A must try - The Ultimate Four-Cheese Truffle Kulcha, they threw out the rulebook for this blend. Pillowy, tandoor-baked dough with sharp, bitey white cheddar, a wonderfully funky and oozing brie, a sharp and nutty asiago, and just enough mozzarella to give you a cheese pull that stretches all the way to next week. It's laced with finely minced fresh chili and topped with blistered, smoky shishito peppers, complete with a truffle flex. Now hold onto your pearls, darlin', because their butter chicken is not that neon-orange, overly sweet butter chicken you get from the mall food court. This is the sophisticated, high-society glow-up that your tastebuds have been praying for. They start with chicken thighs that are so perfectly moist it ought to be a crime. Then the Gravy (The Showstopper): This is a velvety, luxurious makhani sauce made from deeply smoked tomatoes and red peppers. It has a sultry, back-of-the-throat woodsmoke depth that plays beautifully with the sweet acidity of the peppers. It's finished with a generous dusting of fragrant, herbaceous fenugreek leaves. Just when you think it can't get any richer, it's crowned with dehydrated butter that melts right back into the sauce as it hits your table, creating an impossibly glossy, silk-sheet texture. The food is pure luxury, but the rice portion is giving 'recession.' Don't let them starve your sauce--order extra rice right out of the gate and eat like the king or queen you are. Before you get completely drunk on truffle butter and smoky makhani sauce, you need to look at the bottom of that menu, they are slipping in a warning and I am here to make sure you don't get caught off guard when the check drops. They are feeding you like royalty, but they are also making sure their staff gets paid like royalty--automatically. Check your math before you add an extra tip, because that 20% is already locked, loaded, and heading straight for your credit card.

I had missed this on the menu, but my dosa with spiced powder inside did not come with potatoes or anything; it still was a nice flavor but not as substantive as I was hoping for the price. Thankfully, I did get a mango lime tofu dish that was bursting with flavor and also very filling, as well as a bread on the side that underwhelmed and didn't have much of the spiced potatoes as advertised (what do you have to do to get potatoes in your food here?). Overall, a nice location, but the food was a bit mixed in quality and not quite what I'd hoped for at the price. Particularly when one considers how many Indian restaurants there are around here. "Nepalese and Indian food in downtown Raleigh, near Marriott"…read more With a great location, this is VERY close to the Raleigh Convention Center. We arrived on a Thursday night at 6pm with a group of 5. The dining area didn't really accommodate a group that size, but they made it work by moving tables around, which was nice. The place was not very large, but there was maybe only one other family eating inside. The bathroom was clean. I split two dishes with my son-- salmon tikka masala and shrimp (prawn) saag, both coming with rice. We were given some papadum, I think, as a snack as we waited on the food, along with some spicy dips. Food came in maybe 10 minutes or so, which was great timing. However, I have to say, both dishes we tried were underwhelming. The shrimp was oddly translucent and not very flavorful in its dish, and the spinach in the saag wasn't especially tasty (though it did have a nice spiciness). The tikka masala sauce was great, but the salmon also was pretty underwhelming. We both said we'd probably just get chicken next time and not splurge the extra for the salmon. No dish was "bad", but just we expected them to be delicious and they were just OK. I'm just really surprised given how many people said this was the "best Indian" they'd had. The staff were friendly-- refilled drinks well and were good at answering questions. And the price was reasonable. Altogether, I'll give it 4 stars given the great location, good service, good price, but not 5 given the food was "just OK". Realistically, I probably wouldn't go back-- we have lots of great Indian in Durham and Chapel Hill, so I'd rather wait and get that.
