    22. C Momo (Chilli Momo Chef Special)
    Natalie M.

I am so glad I came here for lunch! The food was flavorful, decently priced, and the service was efficient and helpful. If you've never had a Momo they're kind of like dumplings in that they can be filled with meat or veggies and are often either fried or steamed. But the flavor profiles of Momo's to dumplings are VERY different. I've had a lot of Momo's and I've never been too big on them, but this place changed my perspective. Their C-Momo's were crispy on the outside juicy on the inside and had a great meat to dough ratio. But the best part about it was the spice! I told the waitress I love spice and my word they spice it up. I love when a place isn't afraid to make their dishes spicy! The chili sauce on the Momos not only enriched the flavor and juiciness of the Momos, but also compliments the sweet bell peppers in the dish as well. Overall, the dish was great explosion of flavor, textures, and heat. If you like chili chicken, it's a similar flavor, but a very heightened chili taste. I also got the Mustange Piro Aloo. It's this crispy but soft potato dish that also has an excellent dry spicy. I will warn you these potatoes come out HOT so definitely wait for a bit to let them cool. This dish also has a similar spice level to the c Momos. But unlike the Momos, the aloo is a dry spice that has a closer flavor profile Szechuan food. Not the numbing nature of it, but use of toasted dry spice with that pepper heat. The flavor was great but my favorite part of this dish was how perfectly cooked my potatoes was. It has a nice thin crisp with a soft and pillowy interior and with the dry spices it creates a great balance. I highly recommend getting these dishes spicy. If the heat is too much wash it down with some of their Kheer (rice pudding)

I've tried all the NAAN breads, and the biryani except the goat. Excellent. The Tomato Acher with the SHAVALE is one of a kind. The chicken soup is therapeutic The vegetable Samosa is the greatest bargain salad downtown. The lamb is tender across all dishes. The tandoori chicken is the the best in the zip code. NEWARI special chicken CHHOELA it was out standing. The staff treat you like family.

Excellent, attentive service and a robust menu of unique foods. You cannot ask for much more! Well, you could ask for a better location, I guess.

    Jhol momo

Missed dashain and family back home in dc so decided to give this new Nepalese restaurant a try! It did not disappoint. The food is authentic. Got to eat khasi ko masu for dashain with the authentic nepalese thali. The Jhol momo was so good too! The service is amicable. The owner is so sweet and came to our table multiple times to ask if we needed anything. The ambience of the place feels super peaceful and homey. Reminds me of Nepal with nepali music playing in the background. Definitely coming back here again.

    Steamed veg dumplings

Y'all need to come eat right now so this good restaurant can succeed! It was empty and it shouldn't be empty, people! It was absolutely delicious. They care so much about their food. It was healthy and nourishing. It was the kind of food that makes a city special. We particularly enjoyed the steamed dumplings and Kwaat Daal. Garlic Naan was also delish. Highly recommend!

Great place. Affordable lunch options, very good food and too many veggies curry. I love lamb curry and butter chicken. Will be back.

I made this reservation more than a month in advance and was genuinely excited when I finally snagged a table. Thankfully, the meal delivered. The space itself is exactly what I hoped for--minimal, chic, and effortlessly cool. Nothing feels overdesigned or trendy for the sake of being trendy. The menu is also refreshingly approachable. It's creative without being overwhelming, and there's enough variety that everyone can find something they'll love. Before I even get into the food, I have to give a huge shoutout to our server, Kona. She was absolutely incredible and deserves a raise. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. Service like that elevates an entire meal. The drinks were fantastic too. Strong, well-balanced, and with enough variety that there's truly something for everyone. I had both a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned, and neither disappointed. The Manhattan was bold and spirit-forward, while the Old Fashioned was exactly what I wanted--strong, slightly sweet, and the perfect companion to dessert. To start, we ordered the Pita & Dips, and thank goodness we did. The pita itself is enormous, warm, and beautifully prepared. The dips were fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. It's one of those dishes that seems simple on paper but ends up being one of the most satisfying things on the table. The famous Green Beans absolutely lived up to the hype. Kona came by and suggested pairing them with the halibut, which is exactly the kind of thoughtful service that makes a difference. She didn't have to do that, but she did, and she was right. The green beans were incredible--crunchy, savory, addictive, and somehow far more exciting than green beans have any right to be. I'd honestly come back just for this dish. The Pan-Roasted Halibut was another standout. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The acidity cut through the richness of the fish while the subtle sweetness tied everything together. It felt bright and refined without losing comfort-factor. The Goat Empanadas were exactly what fried food should be. Crispy, flavorful, and impossible to stop eating. Sometimes restaurants try to overcomplicate things, but this dish succeeded because it simply executed the fundamentals perfectly. Then came the Roasted Pig Face, which might have been the most fun dish of the night. Mixing everything together transformed the plate into something completely different from its individual parts. The textures were fantastic, and the potatoes added an element I wasn't expecting but thoroughly enjoyed. It's playful, creative, and a perfect example of why Girl & the Goat became famous in the first place. And then dessert happened. We ordered the Popcorn Situation, and I now understand why people talk about it. The combination of sweetness, saltiness, creaminess, and crunch somehow works perfectly. That cake, the cheese component, the salty notes - everything came together in a way that sounds unusual on paper but tastes absolutely incredible. Overall, Girl & the Goat lives up to its hype. I'll 100% be back

As a group of 3, we ordered both vegan and non vegan dishes. For the chickpea fritters, they were able to make a half portion vegan and the other half as is. My friends ordered the chicken skewers and goat empanadas and loved them! I got the maitake mushroom dish. The mushrooms were very flavorful and paired well with the wrap and fresh strawberry cucumber salad. My favorite part was the vegan dessert "vacation, please!" - pineapple cake with passion fruit sorbet

The staff genuinely cared to deliver a positive dining experience. Our water glasses were always refilled (so many restaurants these days don't do it). The menu is marked so well for allergens - my friend is vegan and I am vegetarian gluten-free - I was able to enjoy the soup, appetizers, and salads. They prepared a vegan cous cous for my friend. I recalled the salads being better - it was mostly greens with very little of walnuts/ beans, etc - the other ingredients that had previously made these wholesome and enjoyable. I might suggest cutting back on overall size of the salad but not on the ratios of the recipe. The soup was flavorful and they provided me with gluten-free bread. And my friend absolutely loved the cous cous - generous portions, flavorful spices. My husband had had the lamb shank last time which he found a bit dry. Last night he gobbled up the stuffed chicken delightedly.
