First of all this may not be a very fair review because I went to a weekday buffet, around 11:30. As disappointed as I was I would try carryout. The buffet was lukewarm and the proteins and fried foods were overcooked. The tandoori chicken was like sawdust, and the butter chicken lacked seasoning and that chicken was dry. My friend tried the goat meat and it was gristly, and tough to cut through. The rice dishes were quite good, menu heavy on vegan side. Only chicken and goat on buffet, no lamb or fish. I was told there's more variety on the weekend. The pakora was a bit over to me. The rice pudding was okay but a bit gloopy for me and I was not a fan of mango pudding. The salads were exceptionally fresh! High hopes for next trip. Service was so so and wait staff not a wealth of information. No one inquired if we were satisfied. Surcharge for credit cards... what's up with that? It's a popular spot and I don't know if it's the $18.95 all you can eat or they know something I don't! This was another Restaurant Week 2026 pick for a Sunday afternoon buffet. I picked this place simply because they had Nepali Goat Curry on the menu. The restaurant itself is located in a residential building. We got a little twisted around because we saw the address on the door and entered into a lobby, but soon realized there was no way to get into the building. Because we had parked on State Street and saw the sign on the corner of State, we assumed the restaurant was through the main door. It is actually further down the street from the main door. The place itself has a storefront look. When you walk in, there is a bar directly across from the door and there are two dining areas, a larger space to the right and a few booths and tables on the side where the buffet is. Let me start off by saying that the Nepali Goat Curry was on point! The goat meat was tender, which was great because it was bone-in, so it was easy to pull the meat off the bone. Chicken Tandoori was good too and there was plenty of it in terms of the legs, which I love. Some places I have been to will bring the chicken out separate. While this is hot and freshly prepared, I prefer having it as part of the buffet so I can get it when I want it. Butter Chicken was good but I would have preferred a little more seasoning, but it was good nonetheless. The Jeera rice was very good and great for putting the goat curry and butter chicken on top of it, as well as the Palak Paneer. The Aloo Tama Bodi was also good. The service was nice. I think maybe the owner was taking care of us, wasn't sure. They had splits of bubbles, so I was happy. BFFs 1 and 2 got a Bloody Mary and a Vodka Orange juice and I guess the owner had a heavy pour when it came to the liquor, but no one complained. We had a great meal and was pleasantly surprised that the cost was $10 less than the $30 that was on the Restaurant Week menu, so definitely was a great deal. My friend and I went here for the all you can eat buffet on a Saturday. They offer this every day 10:30 am- 3:30 pm. On weekends the buffet is $19.95. We thought that was a great deal as normally one plate of Indian food is at least $18. My favorite dish from the buffet was the chicken vindaloo it was nice and spicy with boneless chicken and potatoes. The garlic naan was very tasty and fresh. I also enjoyed the biryani rice, the Nepali chow main and palak paneer. For dessert they had a really good mango pudding and rice pudding. The brunch buffet is absolutely worth the price. Excellently prepared various curries, complete with rice, spiced rice, crispy rice puffs (Nepalese), or naan, whatever you prefer. I am always nervous to use Uber eats to order takeout in Chicago because I've had some bad experiences with places being low quality. So, I didn't expect much when I ordered from here at first. But when I saw how nice the food looked I was very hopeful. And it was really hot which was awesome. I tried a bite and instantly knew that this place is the real deal and all the stuff was spectacular! Literally we ordered one dish to be hot and one dish to be mild as far as spiciness, and they even made sure to do that. This place is so good I'm so glad that I finally found a go-to takeout spot and I'm definitely gonna order from here again. Maybe even the same dishes because they were so good, but since I know that the food is good here I'll probably find other stuff on the menu to try because it really is good food. Of course my daughter would crave Indian food while in Chicago -- luckily Chicago Curry House was just a short walk from our hotel. We were seated right away at a booth by a window. After our order was taken, the place started to get really busy as it began to crowd at the entrance. In just a few minutes all tables were taken. Service slowed down a bit as the staff tried to work through the influx. We had the Shrimp Makhani, Lamb Madras and Garlic Naan. They made a mistake by giving us Chicken Makhani, but it was corrected quickly. Every entree comes with basmati rice. Portions were smaller than what we're used to, but well prepared and delicious, nonetheless. The staff was kind and apologetic for the slow service. The owner came out to greet and check on tables. My sister and I went to Chicago Curry House the last day I was visiting her in Chicago. What a perfect last meal for my trip. We ordered the mixed vegetable pakora which was delicious with so much flavor. If you like pakora, you should definitely order those. We also ordered the samosas, garlic naan, and the Navratan Korma vegetarian dish with cashew gravy. Even though I'm not vegetarian, it is one of my favorite Indian dishes. The garlic naan was the freshest I have ever eaten, and the Navratan Korma dish was the perfect choice for our main course. In addition to the awesome meal, the service was excellent. We really liked our server and the manager/owner gave us complimentary mango pudding before we left. As someone who has had their fair share of Indian food spots in the city, I think that Chicago Curry House has made it on my go to list to order from! The food came hot and smelled fresh. For the food, we ordered- Butter Chicken (8/10): Was tasty and was not just chicken breast. It had a smoky flavor compared to other chicken dishes I've had from other Indian cuisine spots. There were just a couple bones. The sauce itself was tasty and we had a good amount of white rice to go with it! Garlic Naan (6/10): It had a good garlic flavor but it was a bit more doughy compared to other places and wasn't my favorite. And finally, for the star- the veggie Samosa. YUM! The samosas were perfectly crunchy and NOT oily! It had a tasty well balanced flavor with the green chutney. And the sauce has a slight spicy kick to it.
