This place was our go to take out chinese, forever!!! Our entire LTown family has ordered there, we love their food...unfortunately we started noticing added charges and when we called and asked what this was for...it was because WE CALLED to order the food and we get a 5+ dollar surcharge for a new system they have for telephone orders. I was very dismayed, so we unfortunately we had to go find another take out, which is awesome and no added surcharges...sorry Hing Wah...this was a deal breaker for us. read more

Hing Wah is a Chinese take out house on New Falls Road, Levittown, PA, that also has a couple of tables for those who prefer to eat in while the food is optimal. It is fairly representative of the genre, with a menu that you could have memorized from most others you have tried in life. Only significant difference was the friendliness of the owners, both of whom engaged in small talk with me both before and after the meal. Nice folks. My lunch special consisted of wonton soup, pork fried rice and general tso's chicken. The consommé was standard chicken stock with two thick skinned wontons and fresh cut scallion greens. No pork or other floaties to be found. Still, it was unobjectionable, even if unimaginative. The fried rice was dyed dark yellow, but had enough veggies mixed in to keep it interesting. The general would have been satisfied as I was, with the quantity of the chicken morsels breaded and deep fried with a dark red amber goop slathered on top. There were actual Szechuan red chili peppers within adding to the pleasurable heat encountered with each bite. The breading was reasonable and did not overwhelm the bird beneath. For around $7 plus tax, lunch was decent and a reasonable value proposition. It fulfilled my weekly yen for typical Chinese/American grub. read more

This WAS my go too Chinese restaurant, I've noticed within the past 6 months the food has went down dramatically. The answering service is a small closet in the back of the restaurant which makes mistakes ALL the time, the fried food is always burt, they skimp on sea food and put more vegetables in combinations, I've found hair in my Singapore Mae fun, they never want to deal with customer complaints, and the owner is cheap. After all these complaints I decided to give them 1 more chance. Half of my food was decent, the rest was horrible. I called and RESPECTFULLY asked for a manager. The manager was not confident and put me on hold, I then found out the owner had informed her I was not to be refunded or store credit. ( I only asked for a $6 store credit on NEXT ORDER ) If you need more information on Hing Wah restaurant go to the bucks county health inspection website, I promise you will never go here again. They just started charging $1.75 when you call in your order. I think that is ridiculous. They said if you don't want to pay the surcharge then drive to the store place your order and wait for your food to be done. Even though the food is good I am looking for a new place to go. read more

SO I came here based on the reviews. I normally go to a different place, that was not rated as highly. But I must say I am surprised. The people are really nice, friendly, fun and personable. But the General Tao's Lunch Special I got was not something I'd be proud of. The chicken was so so.. Fried well, nice and crisp, but there were some fat and cartilage. But that's some what par for the course. The sauce was ok, very sweet and I had asked for extra spicy. Basically a sweet and sour sauce. But what really ruined it for me was the "pork fried rice". I would bet the rice never saw a wok nor pork. It's basically day old orange mexican rice. If you spot anything in it (like pork, egg, scallion) you are lucky!!! I'm very surprised they have such good reviews. The food is very sub par. Oh and be careful going there, if you go to visit. The parking lot has so many pot holes I thought I got a flat pulling in. Good Chinese can seem hard to come by in a lot of places but Hung Wag does a good job. Staff is friendly and no matter the time or day, they seem to be the quickest anywhere. One of the better Chinese places in the area. read more

I was surprised by all the low ratings because this place is pretty good. It's a small little American Chinese restaurant with all the classics. The portions are large and the meat dishes come with A LOT of meat which is nice. I ordered their general tsao's chicken--one with pork fried rice and the other with shrimp--beef and broccoli, shrimp lobster sauce, crab rangoon, and chicken wings. All of it was pretty good with no flaws! Their crab Rangoon was especially good; I haven't had one that tasted like this since my grandpa's restaurant closed down in 08'. My favorite Chinese dish is Buddha's Delight, a stir-fried mixed vegetable and tofu dish. Most establishments have this dish or one similar to it, but they are certainly not all created equal. Most places that make this plate come up short for lack of flavor, and vegetable dishes are particularly challenging in that regard. I used to work in the Greater Northeast, and had a favorite Chinese place there that did this dish superbly, and frankly, I thought I wouldn't find another that did it as well. A friend of mine decided to grab some take out and stopped by here. It's a very standard Chinese take out place. The food is just okay. Nothing spectacular, in my opinion. It's not bad, though. And the portion size for the price is good. I had chicken and broccoli with white rice. I found my rice to be mushy. The egg-roll was tasteless ( although had a very nice crunch). We weren't given any sauces and I found all my food to be very greasy. My friend got lo mien and sesame chicken. He said he really liked his food. All in all I found it to be mediocre Chinese take out. There are other places I like better. This place does seem to have decent reviews so maybe I'm just a Chinese takeout snob. So if you're a snob like me, I say go somewhere else. If most Chinese is the same to you, then you'd probably like it. read more

Not only is the food awful but my 77 year old mother asked them if they could bring the food out to her car because she has trouble walking and with Covid going on was nervous to enter. They refused and made her walk in. Not a smart move considering most restaurants offer to bring it out to you because of the pandemic. My mom has been ordering from them for over 20 years and will no longer be giving them business nor will I. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Hong Kong Pearl has way better food. Absolutely the worst chinese food i've ever tasted. The lo mein was almost black and tasted fishy and burnt.The fried rice(both what comes with the combo meal and shrimp fried rice) was tasteless and the generals chicken was in a big clump held together with thick, gooey, paste like, first grade glue, sauce. DISGUSTING! On the positive side, the free egg roll wasn't bad. Don't buy this crap. Must have been sitting around for hours. Definitely wasn't made to order. Your basic Chinese takeout, nothing special. My husband got his usual General Tso's; although he once again ran into the issue of whole peppers on the chicken, this time the peppers were laid on top of the dish, not mixed in, and he was able to avoid them. I got the teriyaki chicken with pineapple, which was good; I ended up sharing with our 18-month-old son, who loved the sweetness of the sauce. Again, basic stuff, but after the disaster at Ming's (see review), this one is a keeper. read more
