I had the worst experience with this restaurant. I am visiting my mom from out of state and my family ordered from them on Christmas. I am vegan and ordered the masaman curry. There was no option to select tofu so I put tofu in the note and said no meat just to be safe. When the food arrived 3 hours later my dish had no tofu or veggies in it. It was just sauce with some diced potatoes for $16. That was it. I've had this dish 3x exactly as I ordered it in the past and it comes with green veggies and tofu when requested. The management refused to deliver my food again and only offered to refund my meal. I don't care about $16. I had no dinner with my family on Christmas. The manager was rude and tried to gaslight me by saying that they didn't include tofu because the word "add" wasn't before the word "tofu". I attached a screenshot. This has been my local go to for a casual affordable meal (though they do offer specialties at $18). The combination platter is a great deal with choice of soup, egg roll, dish and fried rice. They also offer a 'diet menu' with choice of steamed dish, choice of sauce and white rice. Past meals I've tried so far like House lo mein (not combo) and bourbon chicken were both tasty. I always choose the wonton soup, the broth is so good and the wontons decent. The egg roll is nothing special. The first time i had the pork fried rice it was the best ive ever had! This time it was shockingly tasteless, what happened??? This time we had Gen Tsos chicken, and shrimp in garlic sauce. Spice can be adjusted to your taste and when we asked for mild it was perfectly mild. Both meals were delicious but the shrimp can be more garlicy. I enjoy the hot tea as well. The interior has comfortable booths and a beautiful well-kept fish tank. The service is fine. But after the disappointment with the fried rice I may have to try other places. read more

We first ate at Plum Tree Garden 15 or so years ago. It was recommended for its Thai food. Reality is that it is primarily a Chinese restaurant that also serves some Thai dishes. There are Chinese and Thai lunch specials for under $8. We went for the chicken in green curry and chicken pad see yu. Both were good but not exceptional; level of spiciness is predetermined. Searching for a better local Thai restaurant has become a challenge. I was craving Thai food tonight and decided to try Plum Tree for the first time, instead of my regular place. It's interesting to see how restaurants prepare the same dish.. when I go to a Thai restaurant, I always order the same green curry with vegetables and chicken, and a side of peanut sauce, and coconut chicken soup.. I added the Chinese dumplings to the order. So, the soup had a ton of large sliced red peppers in it. Quite a lot. I decided to save it for lunch tomorrow. The dumplings are good. I like the sauce it comes with, though it's watered down. The green curry disappoints a little bit. The chicken and vegetables are mushy, very over cooked, oh boy more red peppers! And Green ones! The curry sauce is very thick and creamy, I'm just not sure.. I don't think I would order it again. The peanut sauce usually a little thicker and it is very watery, but this peanut water does taste good... a little thin. All in all this did not hit the mark for me. My search goes on! read more

Tried Plum Garden today for the first time. It's Mothers Day so I ordered early, 4:00. They told me it would be 1.5 hours and I said that's fine. They even told me it might not be hot, again I accepted that. When food arrived they sent the wrong item. I had a veggie plate primarily of Eggplant mixed with Green and Red Pepper, Carrots, Peas, and Basil Leaves. It had a mildly spicy brown sauce that also suggested some Ginger Root in the mélange. Everything that I've tried out has been very tasty and reasonably priced considering how much food they give you. In fact, I can never finish my entire entree because their portions are so large, yet anything that I don't eat makes for great leftovers. I do have issues with their service, however. It seems as if anytime that I go there, they only have around 1-2 servers working, so they oftentimes look overwhelmed, confused, or just fed up. I almost feel bad for the waiters/waitresses. We order from here at least once a month. Some dishes are good and some are really not very good. However, my choices in the area are severely limited. They serve Americanized Chinese foot and Thai style food. I cannot say that the food I have ordered from here compares to either real Thai restaurants I have eaten in or Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. But like I mentioned not a lot of choices in this area. I really thing that as people get more sophisticated restaurants like these should stove harder to offer authentic Chinese dishes prepared well along side of the Americanized ones. Also get a Thai chef that knows their Thai ingredients and preparations well enough to pass for the real stuff. A total hidden gem just off of business Route 1 in Langhorne. By hidden I mean hidden. You will not even see a sign for it from the road unless you deliberately turn into the mall strip and drive half way in just to see the restaurant. Even then you may hesitate to go in and try it. None of this really matters however, as the food, service and prices are excellent! I got the mint fried rice with chicken and curry chicken with onions. So I got the fried rice out of curiosity because who the heck fry rice with mint? Guess what? Everyone should!! Omg it was good! The rice give you three layers of flavor. Upon your first bite you will be rewarded with sweetness, followed by an aromatic, savory wok charred rice and finally ends on a refreshing slight minty note. This is by far the most creative combination I've had in fried rice. It's so crazy how the mint takes away all that oily, stirred fry taste. It actually cleans up and refreshes your taste palate. The curry chicken with onion is also terrific. Note that this particular curry dish is stirred fried, not saucy. The flavor is more akin to Indian and Malaysian curry than Thai's. The chicken is tender and coated very well with the curry powder. The spices from the curry is immediately countered with the sweetness from the onions. It was an instant hit with me and I'll get it again. All this for less than 20 bucks. Also, come with an empty stomach because they do not skim on the portions.
