Stopped in here recently for takeout dinner for the fam. I know the building itself has housed Chinese food for years, but I am not sure how long these guys have been operating the location. The inside is typical for a takeout place, a few tables, boxes of supplies in some of the area, you don't really get the vibe that they want you to eat there. I do remember eating inside here many moons ago, but they definitely have more of a takeout feel now. I ordered several items - a quart of Shrimp Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken combo w fried rice, Bourbon Chicken combo w white rice and a quart of Wonton Soup. Everything was solid, the Bourbon Chicken had some small hard pieces/joints in the chicken that had to be cut off for my son to enjoy it, and the sauce could have been better, the General Tso's had a decent little kick, the Shrimp Fried Rice was tasty and the Wonton Soup was typical. Two of the meals came with eggrolls which were fine. Like I said everything was decent and typical. Price wise all of that food came to about $35 and portion wise provided a second meal. I felt that was a great value for dinner and a second meal. I wouldn't get the Bourbon Chicken again, but other than that I found nothing wrong with the grub from here. Bensalem doesn't seem to be a hot bed for great Chinese food so I would put these guys at the top of my list so far. read more

Worst Chinese food in the area. I ordered bourbon chicken. It was terrible. The sauce (bourbon chicken is not supposed to have a sauce. It's supposed to be glazed) was a glob of something that tasted like burnt olive oil. It was inedible. I'm a New Yorker recently moved. I know good and great Chinese food. This ain't it. Order food from New King fairly often for the past 10 years that we've lived in Bensalem food is always pretty good. Nothing special but very convenient for location from where we live recently I've ordered the beef lo mein to give it another try from the last time I had it the beef was not very good. This time I had it the beef could not even eat it. It had a rubbery texture to it. not sure where it came from. We will probably start looking for a new Chinese place. read more

New King Wok is a pretty much average Chinois restaurant on Bensalem Road right next door to Bagelocity/Soup Kitchen. Nice to have the convenience of grabbing the necessities of life (bagels & fried rice) in one stop. There are only four tables in the house, so it is primarily a takeaway joint, but I prefer to sit and eat while the wok burn is paramount. Folks are a husband wife team, with the old man at the stove and frau tickling the register keys. She is friendly and bilingual. As a first timer, I ordered the General Tso's Chicken lunch special, which came with choice of rice and egg roll or cold drink bottle. I asked for it extra spicy. It arrived in take out regalia on a plastic tray; thin white fork on the side. The tso sauce was a beautiful red amber color that matched well with the hyper yellow of the fried rice. There were a few Szechuan peppers thrown in in answer to my request. It was thick, but had decent flavor. The chicken was over-breaded, making for unnecessary heaviness. Had it been thinner, it could have been a contender for a surprisingly good rendition. As it was, it was about average for the genre. I left most of the rice behind as it made too long before my arrival. This wasn't a bad meal, but it could have been alot better given the apparent skill level in the kitchen. read more

Ordered the General Tso Chicken Platter and it was okay. The pork fried rice was excellent, but the chicken a little too crunchy. Also ordered some spare ribs. The sauce was tasty but the ribs a little overdone, but still good. Not the worst and definitely not the best. read more

Great service, food was made quickly. Got general tso chicken and a homemade ice tea. Very tasty lunch! Unlike previous reviewer, my food only took about 10 minutes (and that is from when I walked in, I didn't call ahead) and I had all the necessary utensils in my bag. If they were worried they didn't get utensils out of spite, makes me wonder how much they complained. I would eat here again if I lived in this neighborhood read more

The sauces are oddly watery for both the orange chicken and beef and broccoli. I was desperate for Chinese food so it satisfied my hunger but it's nothing to write home about. The orange chicken tastes like they put hot sauce in it which is odd because I am not used to tasting a hot sauce flavor in orange chicken even if the orange chicken has a kick. Would I come again? Probably not ( but I wouldn't pass it down if their food was offered to me,lol). My hunt for my favorite Chinese spot continues. read more

Been throwing up for three hours straight got egg rolls and chicken very upsetting and disturbed food poisoning

I ordered here often until one order I received, mu shu pork, the wraps that come with it were all green molded. I don't order here anymore.

I have been ordering from here for years and it has ALWAYS BEEN great service and they even responded positively when I was not happy with my order. Well tonight I CAN NOT say I am very pleased. They have a PU PU Platter that I enjoy but tonight the order was clearly old and dried out. When I called the gentleman who answered said " I will talk to the chef about that". Ok what about this food here that I can't eat. He says do you want your money back. I said no I would like my food freshly cooked and delivered to me. Well the woman that brought the food was ABRUPT and NASTY to say the least. She tells me next time say you want your food cooked soft. They will give you the 'hot oil" if you request and are always super fast with delivery and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It was Sunday evening and I was driving when I decided I was in the mood for Chinese food. I used Siri to find a restaurant nearby. It led me here. I ordered appetizer and soup with an entree'. 20 minutes goes by and just as I was about to approach the counter here comes an employee with a tray. It has ALL of my food on it! I asked why I didn't get my soup and appetizer first she muttered something under her breath and asked okay? I said no it's not okay. Where are the utensils? Just moved into a new apartment and the menu was in the welcome kit. Not having unpacked I decided to order delivery. I don't venture far from my norms. I ordered shrimp and broccoli and shrimp egg foo young and a couple of spring rolls. Delivery was very quick. The shrimp and broccoli were standard. It seemed as if they gave more shrimp than other places but I don't eat Chinese very often. The egg foo young on the other hand was a big disappointment. It was scorched very little egg and a lot of been sprouts. It was also a little too oily for my liking. Not sure I'll be ordering again from them. Pretty quick delivery and food is always SO hot which is a plus! But I must say, food is a hit or miss. Fried chicken wings have some kind of cinnamon taste SOMETIMES, which is a shame because it's one of my favorite items from a Chinese restaurant. I've called and asked what seasoning they use but due to the language barrier, no success. I had my stepdaughter over and I promised her how good the food was..WELL, $30 later it was a miss of the night. She didn't eat her shrimp and broccoli and my daughter didn't eat her boneless spare ribs and I didn't eat mine. The ribs even had a cinnamon taste. I ordered the hunan chicken for lunch and it was awful. The chicken was like chewing rubber, couldn't even eat it, got tossed into the trash and the fried rice had no color and no flavor. I ordered takeout Shrimp Egg Food Foo Young, an egg roll and Won-ton soup. The Egg Foo Youg was delicious, the egg roll and the fried rice were perfect. Wonton was good too. After ordering from another takeout place for years, this was a new discovery. Definitely worth the trip. Prices were reasonable. I take the food home so the fact that there were no utensils or napkins in my bag means nothing to me, if you want them ask for them! I would rather have the food and use mine own, less waste too. If you are eating on the run and need the utinensles I suggest to make sure you have them. They were working hard in the kitchen, I suggest using them for take out the dining is very limited. Atmosphere is not inviting for dining, but darn the food is really good. read more

I haven't had a bad meal from here yet. Love the teryaki beef and boneless spare ribs. Sometimes i pop in for lunch just to get an egg roll and wonton soup. It's not an eat-in type place, despite there being a couple tables in a tiny dining room.
