The last honest plumber? I think he left the 'e' out of that. It should be the least honest plumber. Called him out to install a new faucet. Seems easy enough for a plumber to do. He should be qualified to install a faucet, right? When he left, we had no hot water. I call him and tell him he needs to come back and fix it. He tells me there is an additional charge. Ummmm, no, I won't pay him again for a second visit when he should have done it correctly first time he came to my house. Because he wasn't happy with this, he hung up on me. I had to call the bank. To get my money back, all I had to do was get another plumber to sign a letter stating this plumber didn't do his job properly. What's strange is that he knew what the problem was before he came back, which he didn't want to do. He said it is a common problem when you start messing with plumbing and changing hoses and faucets. Apparently, sediment gets into the lines and clogs the faucet. Ok, if he knew this is a common problem, why didn't he clear the lines before he finished connecting the faucet so we would have hot water without problems? I call him back and tell him that he won't get paid at all if he doesn't come back and fix the problem, which really angered him. When he did come back the following day, he started getting angry and raised his voice and had a lot to say that wasn't very nice and was very unprofessional. He was yelling at my daughter and me in front of my 7-year old grandson. My daughter kept telling "Calm the f*&k down!" He didn't care how he behaved or how he yelled and spoke in front of my grandson. He was also tossing his tools around because he wanted to make it clear he wasn't happy that he had to come back again and not get paid. He had to take the faucet apart about five times to completely clear the lines so the faucet didn't get plugged again. He complained because he wasn't getting paid for a second visit. I confirmed that I did not intend to pay him for a second visit when he should have done the job correctly the first time. He left angry, but before he left, he said that he would never work for me again. I quickly reminded him that he would not work for me again because I would never call him again. It seems that maybe he does this intentionally so he can get paid twice for one job. Be careful with this plumber so you don't have to pay him twice to do a job that should be done properly in one visit. No, he will never work for me again, ever! EVER!!!! read more

I'll start by saying that I'm thankful to have found Hiniker Plumbing. I've had two occasions to use them now and I couldn't be more impressed! Last October, my main water pressure regulator stopped working, so the water pressure coming into the house was just way too high. I knew that wasn't something to ignore because the extreme pressure on my old pipes would be an even bigger problem. I hit the internet, hoping to find a highly recommended, honest plumber. Thanks to Yelp and some other reviews, I found Hiniker Plumbing and gave them a call. First impressions matter and they begin with the person on the other end of that initial phone call. The lady who answered my call was friendly and efficient and scheduling my appointment was quick and easy. Louie came out to take care of the problem. He was friendly and personable and immediately put me at ease. He also took the time to answer all my questions and to explain things to me while he was doing the job of replacing my worn-out pressure regulator. I'm one of those people who want to know everything that's being done (and why) so I can learn as much as I can. Lou not only did a great job, he also didn't seem to mind my hovering and asking questions the whole time he worked. Lou, I'm sorry for not leaving this review sooner - you certainly deserve the praise and recognition! Fast forward a couple of months to now. My latest issue was some serious leaking underneath a bathroom sink. Of course, I called Hiniker Plumbing again. This time it was Billy who came out to save the day. Just like Lou, Bill was so friendly and so very kind that I felt completely at ease with him. He replaced the very old water lines and valves that were leaking under the sink and he also completed my unfinished faucet valve change-out job. Bill not only did a great job, he also couldn't be a nicer guy to have working inside your home. Thanks Bill, I really did appreciate all your hard work! I also want to give a shout-out to the ladies who answer the phone. I've spoken with both Desiree and Tina at different times and both ladies could not have been more friendly, courteous and efficient. Competent, friendly, and today they've proved themselves trustworthy. I'm confident recommending them to people I want to impress. They're not just good at fixing things; they are intelligent troubleshooters, efficient workers, and good at spelling out problems and their best solutions. I especially appreciated how James walked me through what he was doing, and why, each step of the way, while still maintaining his efficient working pace. He had processes, solutions, and troubleshooting steps I would never have thought of on my own. His experience and competence was obvious. After seeing the swampy mess outside I called about, he installed a shutoff valve so I could not only fix this problem, but every irrigation problem in the future without turning off the main water line. He used good materials, he was fast, and there's a nice smooth action on the lever - my toddlers could work it. I was all payed up, when we discovered the leak hadn't stopped. He didn't complain, or begrudge the work he just did, but with same great attitude he arrived with, he got to fixing the problem. Which turned out to be a separate main irrigation line which ran underneath the sidewalk. I admit my stomach dropped when I realized this. Thankfully, he was able to access the line without destroying the cement, and got the line capped off. Second time using Hiniker (that alone should tell you a lot!). This time we had a pretty large job that needed to be done, a repair of the main sewer connection between the house and the public line and two smaller jobs. We were initially worried that the repair would require a major construction project, including tearing up a hole in the street, but Hiniker had a technology that allowed them to line the pipe from the inside, without the need to destroy the street, saving days worth of time and thousands of dollars. On the first day there, the pipe collapsed as they were trying to line it, and this is where they really earned another 5 star review. The owner was on-site personally doing this job, and he immediately called in additional help, they spent all day digging (in the yard, not the street) and replacing the pipe to get it back to the condition it was in before the pipe collapsed. They were able to finish the job as promised a few days later, and despite a significant increase in labor and parts from what was originally expected, due to the collapsed pipe, the final cost was still within the ballpark of the original estimate. Should we need additional plumbing services, we will definitely use them again. read more

I called Hiniker Plumbing regarding a possible leak. I couldn't determine exactly were the leak was at, but I knew I had a water issue because I could hear what sounded like running water inside the wall in one of the bathrooms upstairs, and I had checked the water meter outside and it (the little diamond arrow) was spinning fast. The very next day, two crew members from Hiniker were at my home, James and Louis. James explained that he had to conduct a detection test to determine where the issue was, which he discovered the issue was a "hot water slab leak". To fix the problem James and Louis had to reroute the hot water to my laundry area from the bathroom sink downstairs, which they did. The sound of running water from the upstairs bathroom, gone. The heat on the title flooring, gone. The water meter's little diamond arrow stopped spinning. James and Louis did an great job! Both men were professional, pleasant in their demeanor, and humorous. Note--I felt comfortable with them in my home, which I believe is important for any woman (married or single) reading this review to know. Called on a Sunday night and left a message (i was expecting so, but wanted to be on his radar for Monday morning). He called back that night and we set appointment for the next morning. I had a main line that was clogged and backing up. He hydro jetted the line and cleared roots, paper waste, and whatever else was in there in a couple of hours. I also had him replace stuck gate valve for a water heater while he was here and he did so quickly. While he is a little higher price than others I have worked with, the original job and change order got done at the same appointment, no call back needed and his price was exactly what he said it would be before we started work. I will gladly pay a higher price and have it dealt with one time then pay 10% less and run the risk of having them come back, they don't have all the parts or tools needed and need to go get them, or in a couple of experiences not even be able to do the job after they opened everything up. While i hope I never have to see him again (no offense to Gary, he was a great guy to work with), if I need anything with plumbing I know who to call based on this experience. read more

Late Thursday, Lowes' contractor came to my rental unit in Riverside. He removed the old toilet then told me over the phone that there was a lot of problems (floor leaks, corrosion, rust, damaged flange, broken bolts, ...) that needed to be fixed before he could put in the new toilet. He said that it would required a lot of work. He left. My tenant was without any use of the toilet. It was late afternoon. I needed someone to do the work asap. I looked in Yellow Page, online. On Yelp, I searched, found, chose Hiniker Plumbing because of the excellent reviews and most importantly, fast response time. The next morning, Gary came as promised. The work including installation of the new toilet was done in about 45 minutes. Gary told me that the flange was not broken or damaged at all, and there's no floor leak. My lady tenant's happy with the new installed toilet. I saw Gary's work afterwards. It was done with great attention to details. He was truly a "plumber-perfectionist". Our Kitchen Sink clogged up yesterday, the day we closed Escrow on our home (because of course.) We had to call a plumber this morning, and as we had used Hiniker before more than once we decided to give them a call again. They were able to send someone out the same day, and Rick, the gentleman who arrived, was by far one of the nicest, most efficient plumbers I have ever seen. He was very helpful in not only taking care of the clog very quickly, but went out of his way to help explain a couple of things regarding old houses and their plumbing setup (which we definitely have.) He also offered to check our water pressure (because clearly, he can't help being an awesome person I suppose.) You could tell he cared about the work that he does, and also cared about giving my family a great experience. Finally, the price as always was very reasonable given the work that was done. Hiniker Plumbing is our go-to plumbing problem solver for the last 5 to 6 years. Today, on a holiday weekend our toilet became non-operational. After determining this was a job a plunger could NOT solve I told my wife to call Hiniker while I was desperately plunging away and that his magnetic card was on the fridge. Gary was in Orange County at the time of the call and was the only person available due to the holiday but would be out as soon as he was finished. True to his word he arrived early afternoon and was able to finally dislodge the obstruction. Relief experienced in more ways than can be said. His company has corrected/serviced other drain lines, replaced an old leaking water heater with a tankless unit, and modified placement of water lines when a new washer had to be installed. All our experiences have been courteous, professional, prompt, and reasonable. Hiniker will be my next call when the next plumbing problem happens, or if we ever get the brass to do a re-pipe for our 80 year old house. read more

This is not the first time I've called Hiniker Plumbing, and it won't be the last. This company is my go-to whenever I need plumbing-related help-- they are reliable and fair. This time I had a clogged line due to some of the debris from my galvanized pipes breaking free when my water was turned off a few days ago. Luis was my technician and he arrived promptly (on the early side of my 1-hour window) and immediately tried several different things to diagnose the problem and to determine that it wasn't something further down in the line (fortunately it wasn't). As it turned out I needed a new faucet fixture-- I went and chose the one I wanted-- and he came back a few hours later to install it. Luis explained everything clearly, complete the work and tested it, and then cleaned everything up. He was both friendly and thoughtful! best & most professional plumbers in the area‼ long story short, at the end of a hot Friday just as the handyman went to turn the outdoor water back on the control valve for the entire 1/2 acre of yard & garden broke!! -- leaving all of it without water in the midst of a heat wave! when I called, they graciously understood & managed to "fit it in"... Donnell was at my door at 8 am!! It was obvious the entire valve had to be redone (the original installer 35+ years ago used metal pipe rather than copper & it had to be redone (rusting underground)... 3 hours later (in 100 degree heat! & on a Saturday!) We have a mother-in-law house that was in sad disrepair. We called another company to ask them to fix install the new kitchen faucet, then asked them to take a look at the shower. The water wouldn't turn off without an extra valve on the faucet. When it was supposedly fixed, my tenant said all she got was hot water. We called the company back, and they changed out the cartridge (which we paid $90 for) and it still wasn't fixed. He "didn't know what it was". Then I called Gary at Hiniker, and not only did he arrive when he said he would, he diagnosed the problem immediately (the cartridge that was replaced was too short!!), but he charged us less for the service! We used Gary and Hinker plumbing through our warranty company on our home. We just moved to California 2 years ago and Hinker plumbing was sent to do work for us in our master bath which was performed timely, with great workmanship , and friendly service. Then on another incident my warranty company sent a different plumber to replace a cracked severely leaking toilet-- and that plumber tried to say that it was originally not installed properly and it was not able to be replaced under warranty (the toilet was 9 years old) I got Gary out for a second opinion and it was from wear & tear, so Gary was able to replace the toilet under warranty. Once again with timely, friendly. & Great workmanship. We will not use any other plumber now but Hinker plumbing !! Clayton showed up early and was waiting when I got home from work , my shower was leaking into the ceiling my sinks were backing up and my angle stops were leaking under the sink .... He started with the biggest issue and had me look at the possibilities of the issue he did his trouble shooting and it ended up not that big of an issues as it could have been my point is he could have said it was worst case and I would have believed him ... After that was fixed he cleaned the drain lines and fixed the leaks ... He was very friendly and informational while explaining what work he was doing and why ... My water heater went out, and when I called, they had a tech out within 1.5 hours!!?!! (That's awesome. Didn't have to wait 3 days for appointment). After Jeff assessed the repair, he gave me a solid fair estimate. Upon completion he checked water pressure only to find that it was at 120 psi. *I didn't know that was too high, but the big bummer was, I had paid a different plumbing company last year to replace my broken regulator. Clearly the other company didn't completely fix the problem. Thank goodness I called Hiniker because I would have never known, and could have had big, bad water damage if it had gone unnoticed much longer. Their company motto is spot-on!
