I've visited maybe a half dozen of different local pumpkin farms, both no one does it like…read moreLogstroh! I'm so glad we found this farm a few years ago because now it's a family tradition! About 30 mins outside of Columbus near Orient, the farm is easy to get to. They are solar-powered, too, which makes my heart happy! They have an awesome team who works hard and always with a smile. The shop has great treats and gifts. They have SO many varieties of gourds and pumpkins, too. Some I've never seen anywhere else. You can purchase pumpkins from just outside the shop if you don't want to take the wagon ride out to the field. There's also a little tractor train ride for kids and a small corn maze (both for a bit extra, maybe $4 each). They have goats to pet and big hay bales you can play on. If you choose the tractor wagon ride out to pick your pumpkin, it's $10 which includes any pumpkin you pick/can carry - no limit on color, size, variety. They rotate their fields every year so we have seen different field areas over the years. This year we didn't see the bee hives they keep on our train ride out. I hope their bees are still doing well! And now my favorite: The pumpkin donuts. They make them fresh right there and they are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The donuts alone are worth the drive! They have chocolate and cherry donuts too but pumpkin is where it's at. I start thinking about these donuts in the summer, they're that good!! So whatever you do, don't skip the donuts!! Thank you Logstroh family for creating such a happy place for making memories. Here's to 40 more years!

The shop is full of goodies like handcrafted soap, fudge, jams and jellies, wood works, quilted objects and the list goes on and on. They had chocolate milk and even Creamsicle milk! We ended up taking home some apple cider and honey. We were also impressed with the friendliness of all who worked there. This family farm is one we will definitely visit again.

Consider this place worth the drive. You will not be disappointed. I arrived at my destination…read moreabout 2 hours before they closed for the day on a Sunday. I parked in the lot and it was packed with cars. Next, you have to go inside the store barn and get a bucket for apple picking. The Carmel apples were all sold out as well as the apple cider popsicles and the apple cider fridge looked a little bare. I read the other reviews from my fellow yelpers that mentioned the amazing apple cider, so I knew I had to get some before that was sold out too. I grabbed the next to last gallon of apple cider (or so I thought) and put it in my car before I even started apple picking. This place has a front Orchard and a back Orchard. Honestly, I didn't even see the front Orchard until I was already done apple picking. The best way to get to the back Orchard is to take the tractor wagon/hayride. I waited about 15 minutes and the tractor arrived, but it filled up to capacity real quick. So me and the kiddos decided to walk it out. Know that if you are walking to the back Orchard, you will bypass a stream and walk a couple of hills on the way. The best way to not get overwhelmed by the types of apples is to know which ones you came to pick. My favorite apples (gala, honeycrisp, Fuji) were not available for u-pick. So, I was left to just try the types of apples and find the perfect fit for my pick. Yes, you can try an apple or two. Most of the apple rows are labeled with the types of apples. There were pear trees too, but I didn't see any pears because they were all picked out. FYI's: Watch out for the muddy puddles. Wear boots or appropriate shoes. Ask for the apple picker tool. They did refill the apple cider fridge as I was checking out. The u-pick apples were 85 cent a pound. The apple cider is sweet, fresh and the best around. My favorite apples were the golden delicious.

The ladies who worked there helped us pick out a beautiful selection of flowers for our pots. They taught us how to make how selections visually appealing and guided us to the right flowers depending on where our pot will reside. My pot will be in my front porch which is shaded and also has some sun. I was able to pick out both shade and sun flowers. The flowers here were so bright and healthy. I was so happy seeing all these beautiful colors and really wanted a job here. It must be heaven to work with the most beautiful flowers every day! I picked out 2 different flowers of different sizes. One grew taller and the other was short. I also picked out the most vibrant pink Colleus plant. I have never seen one so rich pink. This will be my filler. I also got another plant with cool hardy leaves that will also have flowers if they get sunshine for my drooping over the side of my pot plant. I was very happy with my selection and the ladies who worked there were super helpful! My pot came out $10 more than the pre made one but I was able to choose my own selection. This was such a fun event. They also had cookies, meat, cheese and wine inside the main house. I bought a spicy jar of salsa to go.
