While the size of the sandwich looked promising for a long overdue lunch, the meal was Excruciatingly Disappointing: Mother Picky ordered the classic French Dip but there were problems. 1. The bread was old and tough and had a funky taste and texture. In over 50 years I've eaten so many types of bread and especially French style which is usually used for French Dip sandwiches. 2. The sliced beef was tasteless. 3. There was a moment that looked like there was a ghost of cheese but it had disintegrated. Leaving the entire French Dip "ghosted" and me just haunted. 4. This wonderful cafe is ran by two really great, community centered, talented and kind people. Their food is SO good! Smash burgers are my favorite and I love that they have a regular menu yet most days they have a special item(s) that is unique, like the coney smash burger. Scooter is my favorite. The smashed potatoes are my favorite side, their soups though... yum. They also make unique and specialty deserts and fill their case daily. What a gem of a place in the little town of Molalla! We're lucky to have such good food here... if I could, I'd probably eat here every day. My faves - if I had faves - would be the Sweet Carolina pulled pork sandwich and the Mama Mia Italian and the BBQ pork mac 'n cheese and the Bodega tacos and the Pork Banh Mi and the... oh wait, everything I've had there is my favorite. I was looking for a lunch spot in Molalla before heading out to the Santiam State Forest. So I popped open Yelp and The Humble Pig Cafe came up first. And we soon found out why, it was delicious. The hardest part was picking what to get. I went with the Midnight Special. My friend got the Ruben. We were flabbergasted at how good the sandwiches were. My friend declared his Rueben the best he'd ever had. The Midnight Special is just packed with yumminess. Pulled pork and sweet peepers and some sort of delicious sauce. We're now looking for more excuses to go to Molalla. This was definitely a 10/5 Stars but unfortunately Yelp limits you to only five stars. read more

I've lived in Molalla for a little over three years now and finally made it to the The Humble Pig Cafe. Honestly, I don't know what took so long. My wife has been here a couple of times and loves it. This small unassuming cafe is family owned and serving up some incredible sandwiches. My wife and I split a Feugettaboutit Italian Sandwich. This is Genoa Salami, Capocolla, Ham, Prosciutto, Provolone, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Vinaigrette, Caper Aioli, House Giardiniera (Gives it a little bite), and Cherry Peppers on a Baguettte. First of all the bread really stands out. This crusty baguette is purchased locally in the Portland area. The meats, cheese, and other ingredients are perfectly balanced with the baguette. I would not hesitate to get this sandwich again, but there are many others I'm excited to try. The service here is outstanding as well. So overall, I give this place five stars everything I've tried from there is definitely cooked from scratch and it's very worth the money. I give them three stars this time because the burgers just didn't really hit the flavors that I expected them to have say a specialty burger should focus on the specialty flavors, and the Eiffel Tower was lacking the prosciutto and the truffle flavored that was advertised the hunks hunka burning love burger had very little and could not taste the pickles on it and the peanut butter was extremely excessive way way way too much. It was like eating a hot peanut butter sandwich that's all you could taste and it wasn't that appealing, but don't get me wrong the quality of the food the bun the hamburger and everything else is on point, I think they just need to fine tune their recipes or maybe this may have just been a off day but I still recommend everybody go check this place out and I'm definitely going back again and again best place to eat in Molalla I'll tell you that. read more

We really like The Humble Pig, based on two experiences. We got food to go the other day, and dined in today. We love the mixes of flavors and textures on the sandwiches, as well as the quality ingredients. The first experience I got the homemade pasta special, which came with pork meatballs, and a rich, deep, red sauce. It was true comfort food. For today's visit, I got the Banh Mi sandwich, and I loved the crunch of the pickled carrots and daikon, the freshness of the cilantro, and the zip of the jalapeños; all combined with delicious pulled pork on a toasted bun. Every bite was amazing. There is still a little awkwardness in ordering the ordering process, but they have lots of time to get their ideal flow figured out -- they've only been open 2 weeks, after all. I wish they had the Hungarian mushroom soup but they were out of it and had potato leek which was very good as well. Kind of had my hopes up on the Hungarian mushroom soup. Walking into the Humble Pig, first thought was this place is small. The decor was great. The owner Sarah was very helpful and you could tell she loves what she does. I had the banh mi, and my wife had the special "country pig". The meat was a high quality and the topping were fresh and delicious. The bread for the sandwiches was Devine. We also had the Hungarian mushroom soup, which was creamy and well seasoned. I highly recommend coming to this place because it is a step foreword to where molalla is going, this town is great and we need to support the local restaurants to make it better.
