This was a fantastic stop on our road trip from Seattle to Portland! The charming corner store has a huge variety of snacks and local goodies as well as a sandwich and pizza restaurant in the back. My best friend and I loved making this our lunch stop. They had an all-gendered single bathroom and easy parking lot out front. The people who worked here were extremely friendly. It was a homey spot. We ordered our sandwiches in the back. I loved my very filling reuben. There was a lot of seating available inside. I had a pretty bad experience this evening. At 5:02pm, I ordered one sandwich online. At 5:11pm I got a text that it was ready for pickup and I showed up around 5:25pm. I told one of the employees in the back my name and that it was an online order. She said she would check on it. I ended up having to wait another 40 minutes and checked with employees twice during that time. Turns out that my sandwich was ready the entire time and was just in the heated holding cabinet. I ended up actually getting my food around 6:05pm. I get that they were busy but it was frustrating because if an employee could've just taken 15 seconds to check and give me my order, I could've been on my way 40 minutes earlier. The sandwich was good, but not worth waiting an hour for. They need an employee in the back to provide customer service and hand out orders. Or possibly a designated area for online pick ups? I heard some good things about this place, so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered a pizza an hour in advance and it wasn't ready when I arrived. They said it was in the oven and would be ready in 3 minutes. 20 minutes later my pizza was ready, but was missing a quarter of the toppings. They obviously forgot about my order and tried to rush it through. There was also a line of people waiting to pay and they were not that busy. Very poor service and very disorganized. read more

My wife discovered this place while planning our trip, and she immediately knew we had to stop in. It's a locally owned small grocery and deli--it not on a corner anymore (it used to be), but now located on a roundabout. When you walk in, the check-out counter is to the left featuring local baked goods, gelato, etc. There is some seating to the right with some really cool sliced log tables, and the restroom is in the corner of that particular area. The mid-section has shelves of specialty and convenience items, with stairs leading to a second floor which we did not check out. On either side are coolers, produce, and other grocery staples. The deli sits in the back. We loved the overall look of the place--rustic with a bit of an industrial touch, totally our style. The deli menu board behind the counter lists breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, and pizza. They also serve coffee. We weren't in the mood for a deli sandwich but did see they have been awarded best sandwich for quite a few years which is cool! When we saw the pizza prices, we did a double take. A 12-inch cheese pizza starts at $19.89 and goes up to $25.89 for a supreme. Gluten-free adds $4+, and focaccia crust adds $6+. While we appreciate good sourdough (and they use Kalama Sourdough, which has a great local story), the prices felt a bit steep for a 12-inch pizza. So we decided to eat elsewhere. That said, this was still a really cool stop. The shop has character, local charm, and a great aesthetic. We'd definitely come back for coffee or to browse again next time we're in the area. What a gem this place is! I was driving from Portland up to cougar to stay overnight for an early morning Mt Saint Helens summit hike the next day. Had no idea what my dinner plans would be as I wanted to keep things light before a big hike. At the roundabout I saw this place with a good group of people outside. I needed a banana & apple to carry for breakfast & figured they may have it. I walked in & the smell of pizza & sandwiches wafted from the back so I wandered back there to investigate. There was a big menu with offerings & a very friendly employee telling me about the best things they had. I decided to go with the Eruption & take half of it up the mountain with me the next day. YALL I'm honesty proud of myself for not eating all of it before I got to my lodging up the road. It was so goddamn good. I told everybody in my hiking group about it & one of the guides said they would go by the next day & get the same thing haha. They also had fresh produce, some beer & snacks on hand. Was excited to try this place out. Was greeted by a young her girl who was very friendly. She made my husband and I feel very welcomed. She explained where everything was and how to pay etc. We went to the back and bought a club sandwich panini style. All sandwiches come with a bag of chips. It was delicious, but a little on the pricey side. I went the check out the produce that they have. I bought 2 containers of strawberries because they looked phenomenal. I also bought a yellow onion for $.47! Prices on fresh produce were great. There is lots of sourdough bread and assortments of baked breads as well. I purchased a carrot cake that had coconut and pineapple. It was soooo good! Lots of seating and cool handmade lamps repurposed from old alcohol bottles. Also, local honey for purchase! Came here with a friend as a stop on the way to hike Mount St Helen. The spot was perfectly placed on the route. Giving a real home feeling. The customer service was truly top notch. So friendly and kind. I ordered a toasted turkey and cheese sandwich on their fresh sourdough bread. It was amazing. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. So fresh and full of flavor. We also heard that the breads there were made fresh by one of the owners. So we had to buy some. We got a banana chocolate chip and apple pecan. Both were AMAZING as well. I should've gotten a cold sandwich because my Reuben was just ok. They smashed it panini style but I didn't think that added anything to make it better. Recently tried this place after getting a new job in Woodland and am so happy to have found it! I had heard about the Woodland Corner Store before but rarely make it out to the area so never even crossed my mind when craving a deli sandwich. Now it's my GO TO! 5 sandwiches for sure. I love that you can order online too, makes it so easy for me to pick up on my lunch break or even after work. They do not scrimp on meat portions and I like that you can choose 2 meats without an up charge like a lot of places often do. They have a ton of options for bread, condiments, meats, and veggies to add. We have only tried their pizza once and overall it was good pizza. It is sourdough pizza dough so that was a little different but still very tasty. The crust is a little thicker than we prefer but it was cooked really well and nice and crunchy. We would get pizza here again! The thing we didn't like was the breadsticks. I don't know if those are freshly made there or not but they honestly reminded us of the boxed up frozen ones you can buy and cook in your oven at home. The market itself is super cute and very well kept up. They have fresh produce options, stuff from local vendors to purchase, lots of drinks (adults drinks, too!), and even gelato. We typically get the Hawaiian pizza here because it's my husband's favorite, but this time I got to choose and we had the Supreme and it was very good. As other reviewers have noted, the crust is a sourdough and it's exceptional. Choice of sauces and ingredients means you can make whatever pizza you can dream of. Very easy to order from their website and have it paid for and ready when you get there. I like that the owner responded. That said I've been there 20 or more times and what I was saying is the value for what you pay doesn't exist anymore. If you're doing two ounces in an 1/2 BYO then it must have been 4 or 6 before. It's the only sandwich order so I kinda of understand the difference. As for the pizza I have over 500 check ins and 300+ reviews and I bet if you look at my history I got 40 or so pizza reviews and pictures from all over the PNW so a blog is relatively unnecessary. Their pizzas are the best I've ever had! I will drive the 25 minutes just to eat the pizza here only! The Gouda cheese adds a smooth cheese element and tastes way better than just having mozzarella! I do wish they topped it with more of the veggies ingredients like the mushrooms and green onions, but it was still fantastic! And I love that they have a good selection of drinks and some seating. Plenty of parking. There is a pizza and deli shop with Boars Head products in the back. They also have a small coffee shop too. Sandwiches were great. Coffee was ok. Favorite place to eat in Woodland by leaps and bounds. Great ambiance with farmers market feel. Love how they continue to bring more to the market (gelato added in 2024) and look forward to upstairs opening. Chais are heaven. Pizza is awesome and with sourdough doesn't leave you feeling gorged. Best is they use boars head meats and cheeses. Prices are pricey with pizza now at $20. We've scaled back and try to share a pizza where we used to get one per person and come more often. Sandwiches are generous with meat. Cinnamon rolls were awesome first time and last time tasted twangy almost like they had lemon or something was off. Staff are friendly and helpful. This is a very quaint and quality little stop for when you need only a couple pieces of produce, a kombucha drink, a pizza for dinner, or some rotating local items to use as gifts. The store stock is definitely abbreviated, but what they do carry seems to be pretty good stuff. They appear to be a bit discriminating about the quality of their products. Produce is always the freshest in-season and they have the standard Kalama sourdough stand always stocked back in the deli. Deli offerings feature Boars Head meats and cheeses, with a varied menu of sandwiches, salads and the aforementioned pizza. The pizza is fantastic, featuring Kalama sourdough crust. They really understand how to bake it, too. I'm not sure what they do differently than everyone else, but something happens in their oven, and it's magical. Phenomenal pizza! All food can be eaten onsite, either up front in the seating area, or if weather permits, outside under an umbrella. But...my favorite thing about WCS is the owners. They're astonishingly kind people who make every guest feel welcome. Always willing to help you out with anything they can do to improve your experience in their shop, they're always there with huge smiles and gratitude. They should honestly teach a course in how to deal with customers. I have to dig deep to find anything here to complain about. Like everywhere else, I guess prices would have to be my only pseudo gripe. But who doesn't have this concern these days... I take any opportunity to pay a visit to WCS. I love the pizza's here. The sour dough pizza dough is so good, perfect crunch and softness in the crust. The sauce is a good blend, not too spicy and not too tomato'ee. The toppings are plentiful and the options of specialty pizzas are good. I personally like to build my own and make it veggie. The store is clean and has a beer fridge with a lot of good Washington brewer selections. While you're here grab some groceries. The services is excellent. Believe me, this place deserves its near 5-star overall score. The pizza is consistently amazing, IMO easily the best in Woodland, and you could argue the surrounding area. From the Kalama Sourdough crust to the toppings, the ingredients are all top-notch quality. My personal go-to is the Sweet & Spicy. The baked goods? Also top-notch. The cinnamon rolls, which are made fresh daily, are easily the best I've had in Woodland and the surrounding area by a long-shot. Large, decadent, dense and soft. You can also get another container of icing if you want to go overboard (which I happily do most times).
